Septimus Signus's Outpost is a small cave north of the College of Winterhold inhabited by Septimus Signus. It contains only one zone, Septimus Signus's Outpost.
Septimus moved a mysterious Dwemer lockbox to this remote location for study. He is an expert on the lore of the Elder Scrolls, but his knowledge and interaction with them has mostly destroyed his mind. He claims that "Inside is the heart. The heart of a god! The heart of you. And me." However, the lockbox actually contains the book Oghma Infinium.

WalkthroughEdit
ExteriorEdit
The cave is on a small remote icy island off the north coast of Skyrim. It may be reached by walking a short distance north of the College of Winterhold then continuing north over drift ice and the island featuring Skytemple Ruins. The outpost is accessed through a trapdoor on the south side of the small icy island, next to a moored rowboat.
Septimus Signus's OutpostEdit
The trapdoor opens into a narrow descending ice tunnel that ends on a ledge above the main chamber; following the ledge leads to an earthen ramp that circles the chamber counterclockwise. At the bottom is the Dwemer lockbox. Opposite the lockbox is a small square wooden table holding two bottles of alto wine, two bottles of wine, a goblet, and a jug, with a second jug on the ground. A nearby cupboard holds three bowls of fire salts, a filled petty soul gem, a filled common soul gem, copies of Antecedants of Dwemer Law, Boethiah's Proving, Chimarvamidium, Dwemer History and Culture, Dwemer Inquiries Vol I, II, and III, Effects of the Elder Scrolls, and Pension of the Ancestor Moth, and two copies of Ruminations on the Elder Scrolls, which is written by Septimus himself.
NotesEdit
- Boethiah's Proving will not appear until you reach level 30.
- The Chill, Winterhold's jail, is on an island northeast of the outpost.
