Skyrim Mod:A Tale of Blood and Snow/Berne Clan

The Berne Clan is a coven of Vampires operating on Solstheim after the events of the Red Year drove them out of Vvardenfell. They are an ancient enemy of the Quarra Clan.

BackgroundEdit

After the death of Raxle Berne in the final years of the Third Era, his niece Restita and his nephew Aunius would enter into a conflict to decide who would become the new Clanlord. After three years of conflict, Restita would put an end to the power vacuum by slaying Aunius in a surprise attack and purging his followers from the clan. With her position as the new Clanlord secured, Restita focused the Berne's efforts on eradicating the surviving Quarra after the death of Volrina Quarra was confirmed some time earlier. Her efforts would be wasted when Red Mountain erupted, destroying the Berne's home in Galom Daeus and allowing the Quarra a chance to evacuate the island.

In the 4th Era, the Berne have resettled on Solstheim and begun rebuilding their strength in the Nordic ruins within Varstaad Caves. In addition to dispatching infiltrators to various criminal hideouts across the island, Restita has also manipulated multiple vampire hunters into attacking the Quarra in their new territory back in Skyrim. Velfred of the Cronvangr Clan has reached out to Restita with an offer of alliance against the Quarra, but she has declined out of the arrogant belief that the Berne require no allies to crush their enemies.
