Eulix Festius, an experimental brickmason

Eulix Festius is an Imperial commoner and brickmaker who operates a workshop in Old Ebonheart. Docelle Bien will direct you to him as part of the quest, Tamriel Rebuilt.

He appears to be something of an experimenter, and will request your aid in developing a new (and theoretically better) mortar, beginning the quest Sticky Situation.

He wears a common shirt with matching pants, skirt, and shoes. He wields a miner's pick.

Aside from his natural charm and ability to absorb fatigue from others, he knows no spells.

DialogueEdit

  • Background:
"I am %Name, a brickmason. I cut stone and lay bricks for a living. It's hard work -- hard, but honest."

Sticky SituationEdit

  • Greetings:
"The name's %Name, brick mason. Would you mind helping me with an idea? I have been brewing up mixtures for a new mortar. I'll make it worth your while."
"Do you have the soap for the new mortar?"
"Thank you again for the soap. Do you have the scrib jelly for my new mortar?"
"I think my new mortar just needs a little more, %PCName. Do you have the muck for it?"
"Thank you for all that, %PCName. Were you looking for some brickwork done?"
  • new mortar:
(If Disposition < 30):
"I'd really rather work on this with somebody I can trust."
(If Disposition ≥ 30):
"I've been cutting and laying stones in this town since I was small. Still, I figure I could improve on my work. I've got this idea to improve my mortar, but I'm not sure what'll work. Do you mind giving me a hand?"
  • Okay, I'll help.:
"Great. Could you get me some sload soap? The waxiness ought to help with the mortar."
  • No, I'd rather not.:
"Well, I can't say I'm happy to hear that. Still, tell me if you change your mind."
"Have you found some sload soap?"
"Waxy, just like I asked. Nice job, %PCClass. Let me add it to the mix.
Hmm, it isn't working like I expected. How about you bring me some scrib jelly? That'll add the sticky quality I want to it." (Removed 1 Sload Soap from your inventory)
"Do you have the scrib jelly? I need it for the mortar."
"Didn't expect to see you back again so soon, %PCName. Let me take that jelly and add it to the mix. Hmm... It's got the waxiness and the stickiness the mortar needs, but there's something missing. How about some muck for texture?" (Removed 1 Scrib Jelly from your inventory)
"Have you found the muck for me?"
"Thanks for the muck. Now let's get this in the mix quickly. Hrm... This is perfect! The sload soap makes it waterproof, the scrib jelly makes it sticky, and the muck makes it sturdy. Shame about the cost though. If I put this on every house that wanted it at my current prices, I'd be bankrupt. Still, you did good work, %PCName. Here, take this. It saved me a couple times when I was working up on the walls." (Removed 1 Muck from your inventory, and you receive an Amulet of Slowfalling)
"I hope that old amulet is serving you well. I've had a few orders for some of the fancy manors. The nobles don't seem to mind paying more for this new mortar."

Tamriel RebuiltEdit

  • mosaic tiles:
"Ah, for the Census project? I can't see how this relates at all to their work but I'm paid to make tiles, not think about distribution of my tax septims. Here's the tiles I promised. Yellow, right?" (You receive 17 Yellow Tiles)
"Hopefully you haven't lost those tiles, those were a custom order. I don't normally deal with material that fragile."
"Huh? What's wrong with the tiles? Don't tell me they changed their minds again. A job's a job I guess. Give me back those tiles and I'll give them a quick slap with this paint. There. Hopefully this is what they need." (Removed 17 Yellow Tiles from your inventory, and you receive 17 Red Tiles)
(If you don't have all of the Yellow Tiles):
"Didn't they take them? You want something done to those tiles, you bring them all back to me. I'm not pressing new ones while you leave perfectly valid work lying around somewhere."
"Were those tiles more to their liking?"
"Ah well, I had fun making those tiles anyway. Best of luck to them."
