Detailed WalkthroughEdit

A fabled bladeEdit

The owner of the Thirrine Lily that you searched and got impounded during Unrest in the House has made their displeasure known. This individual, Dalvus Raran, has challenged Felmaru Llendu to a duel in the Narsis Arena. She has accepted, but wants you to retrieve a storied blade named the Faithkeeper so that all watching in the Arena will be reminded of what the Waters March stands for. Felmaru believes that Garisa Llethri may have taken the blade from Ald Iuval's vault when he moved to Ald'ruhn.

Travel to Ald'ruhn on Vvardenfell. Garisa Llethri can be found in the private quarters of Llethri Manor, inside the town's Manor District. You'll need to get his disposition above 90+ before he will tell you much about the Faithkeeper. If that's too tall an order, you can instead complete The Boy Who Would Be Undead (a quest started by asking local townsfolk about latest rumors and hearing of a vampire), which will convince Garisa to aid you. Alternatively, Garisa will open up if you are the Archmaster of House Redoran.

It seems that Garisa lost the Faithkeeper to an Argonian shaman named Desh-Ru. Ask Garisa about this topic. It seems that this individual is well-known for assisting escaped slaves on Morrowind's southwestern border, and so Garisa suggests asking slaves in that area. It's time to head back to the southern mainland. Anyone with the Slave class in Tamriel Rebuilt's Map 7 (an area comprising Shipal-Shin, Coronati Basin and Othreleth Woods, among parts of other regions) can tell you of Desh-Ru's whereabouts. However, you'll need to have 90+ disposition with them, or else have freed enough slaves (20+) to know about the Twin Lamps.

Once you get a Slave to open up, you'll learn that Desh-Ru is camped out south of Ussiran Camp (which you visited during The Will of One), in a cave named Satunabi. Travel here. Satunabi can be reached by walking along the path running out of Ussiran Camp, only to walk southeast at the first sharp right bend. This takes you to the mouth of the high gorge in which the entrance to Satunabi sits. Once inside, proceed through the cave to find Desh-Ru.

Unless you meet specific requirements, Desh-Ru will attack you on speaking to him, and must be killed. To avoid this, you must be either Argonian or have been told of the The Twin Lamps by freeing over 20 slaves. In these cases, Desh-Ru will give you a chance to speak. You'll need to have freed either 30 or more slaves, or to have 90+ disposition with him before he will release Faithkeeper to you.

Regardless of if you kill him or manage to avoid it, take Faithkeeper to Felmaru, who is in Narsis now. Your job isn't done quite yet.

The duelEdit

You'll find Felmaru in the bunkroom of the Narsis Arena. She's very ill - having been poisoned. She asks that you step in as the champion of House Redoran, and that you inform Dalvus Raran in Narsis' Raran Manor of your participation. This is in the Council Quarter, just south of the Council Spire Amethyst. Speak to Dalvus inside. He is expecting a forfeit, and on not receiving it, asks for a day to choose another champion to fight in his stead.

Return to the Arena after a day has passed (your journal will update once this has happened). Your opponent, Broke-His-Oath, awaits in the pit (although you may have to enter it twice). Try to enter it from the west side so that you have time before the enemy combatant reaches you - Broke-His-Oath uses powerful poison spells. Reducing his health to 15% will cause him to surrender - while if he reduces your health to 15%, you lose. You don't want the latter to happen - Felmaru will practically disown you.

Once victory is secured, talk to Felmaru in the arena bunkroom once more. She'll invite you to meet her back in Ald Iuval. Once you do, she'll request Faithkeeper back from you. Accept - she'll shortly conclude that you're the best person to wield it, and will return it, concluding the quest.

NotesEdit

  • In a future release, Twin Lamps membership may be sufficient to placate Desh-Ru, but joining the faction is not possible as of Tamriel Rebuilt v25.05.
  • Both this quest and The Dreugh Prince of Lake Coronati must be completed to trigger the script that will ultimately begin The Stand.
