Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Speak to Bol Salvani in Gol Mok. He's in the tower room of Salvani Manor. While in charge of the village, it's not much of one to be in charge of, and he's looking for diversions. Diversions at the expense of the Indoril on the east bank of the Thirr River, specifically. Agree to take part in his undercover operation and he will task you with creating a squirmy scrib pie, and giving it to Vanis Nithri's wife in Vhul.
You'll need three molecrab eggs and an unbaked scrib pie for this. Go for the eggs first. These can be taken from the molecrab paddock outside of Aalmu Ouradas' Shack, three islands to the southeast. Vhul itself is a bit of a walk. Head east from Gol Mok to Old Ebonheart, and then follow the road leading south from the city, through Dondril and continuing south until the road turns east towards Vhul.
Once in Vhul, you can obtain an unbaked scrib pie by asking Golyn Volor in the Bakers' Hall, but do not ask him to make the squirmy scrib pie itself - he is far too proud, and will reveal the plot to your target. Falas Othril, however, is more than willing to help. He can be found in his house in the northwest corner of Vhul. Speak to him about the 'prank', and he will bake the pie for you with 30+ disposition. Imeni Volor is another option, but will need 60 disposition.
Give the baked pie to Vanis's troubled wife, Dovame. She wanders the streets of Vhul. Speak to her on the topic of 'come for my husband'. Give her the pie when given the opportunity to do so and claim that it is to 'make amends'. When she challenges you, point out that Dreughs are immune to poison. She will take the pie and promise to give it to Vanis.
You can return to Bol Salvani in Gol Mok for your reward. Later visits to Vhul will allow you to speak to Vanis about the prank. It turns out that it has actually helped him overcome his fear of crabs.
BugsEdit
- In the 22.11 release, some dialogue crucial to progressing this quest will not appear, as it is coded to a journal stage (20) that has been removed. If you encounter this bug, you will need to bypass the stage of the quest concerned with baking the pie. To do this, open the console with ` and use player->AddItem "TR_m4_HH_SqScribPie" 1 to obtain the baked pie, and Journal "TR_m4_HH_ScribPie" 30 to set your journal to the correct stage. Then speak to Dovame Nithri to give her the pie.
