Not happy VulpsEdit

This is VERY unacceptable! I just read your userpage, and I almost started crying! I'm just horrified! It's a shame my sandboxes will be of lower quality now that you are temporarily away =( I'm sad. - Chez talkemail 06:12, 26 February 2013 (GMT)

Aw, I'm sorry Chez. :( Don't worry, this isn't permanent. ;) And I'll check in once a day... maybe... if I can... hm... ;P --Vulpa 01:39, 27 February 2013 (GMT)

MentoringEdit

Hi Vulps! I've used this wiki for quite some time, and it's been extremely helpful, so I feel kind of bad that I've been too lazy to contribute until now :P I've already edited a couple pages for Skyrim, and pointed out some things on the talk pages, but I'd really appreciate it if you taught me the basics of formatting wiki pages.64.135.48.170 15:47, 8 May 2013 (GMT)

I'm glad to hear you're liking the wiki! :) And don't worry, there've been people who lurk here for years before making an account. :P Which, by the way, you may want to consider doing-- it takes about 5 seconds and gives us a name that we can thank for edits. :)
I'll be glad to answer any specific questions you have, as you come across them, but as for the basics you seem to be doing okay. :) Having just looked through your edits so far, I've only seen a few things missing that you may want to know. For example, on talk pages each comment is indented from the one preceding it. To do that, just put a : before you start typing-- take a look at this in the edit screen to see how I did it once and then twice for single and then double indent. Also (and I think this was a one-timer, but I thought I'd mention it), you generally don't need to explain any edits on the talk page, unless they might be controversial. That's what the edit summaries are for.
Back to one indent ;) Anyway, about the only advice I can give at the moment is to: 1) Check out our help pages, particularly Getting Started, and Quick Editing Guide, Formatting, Editing Pages, and Helping Out. 2) Take a few seconds to research whatever edit you plan on making if it's more than a typo-fix. And 3) "Be Bold" with editing- the worst that can happen is have someone revert it (albeit not a job many patrollers enjoy spending time on ;) ).
So, TL;DR, right? ;) I'll try and be less verbose. :P That's a good place to start at least, and feel free to ask any questions! :) --Vulpa 22:21, 8 May 2013 (GMT)

Haskill WIPEdit

Are you still working on your revamp of the Shivering:Haskill article? You've had your WIP tag on there for quite awhile. --Xyzzy Talk 16:45, 12 May 2013 (GMT)

Technically, yes... I mean, I have every intention of working on it. Truthfully, I forgot entirely about it for a few months, and now I have final exams coming up, so probably won't work on it at least until summer. So I guess it's up to you; if you want to take that tag off I'll just tweak my little sandbox at my leisure and make the changes on the real page in a few years or so. ;) --Vulpa 19:41, 12 May 2013 (GMT)
No, that's ok. I just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten about it :) Take your time, and good luck on your finals. --Xyzzy Talk 20:43, 12 May 2013 (GMT)
Thanks. I really will finish it someday! ;) *pulls out ginormous practice Regents exam* Now I have something to look forward to besides test after test after test after.... --Vulpa 20:56, 12 May 2013 (GMT)

how to make a new pageEdit

i just remembered there was this skyrim quest in the official guide and it isn't there. — Unsigned comment by Thescrollshavefortold123 (talkcontribs) at 01:18 on 17 July 2013‎

Would you mind elaborating? If it's true we've somehow missed a quest, then it definitely needs to be added. It's unlikely, however, given the occasional differences between the official guide (prima?) and the actual game, not to mention the amount of time spent combing through every playable part of Skyrim. Anyway... what was the quest's title, please? I'll look it up in my own guide and see if it requires a new page. :) --¿Vulpa? 01:27, 17 July 2013 (GMT)
it's called the paragons of the frost giants from the dawnguard dlc.Im not sure if its an actual side quest or a miscellaneous objective but in the guide it says its a side quest. — Unsigned comment by Thescrollshavefortold123 (talkcontribs) at 01:33 on 17 July 2013‎
When on a talk page, please remember to 1)sign your comments with --~~~~ and 2)indent each of your comments one more : than the person before you. It's in the message above the editing window. :) My thought-train deviations aside, I looked up that quest. It's under a section titled "Regional Activities", so the Prima Guide doesn't quite call it a quest. I guess we don't either, as shown by a quick wiki search. However, it is documented as an oddity here and here. Also here... I'd say that's probably enough, as it isn't really a quest. What do you think? --¿Vulpa? 01:46, 17 July 2013 (GMT)
That came across as unappreciative. :( I am glad that you brought this up, as I'm starting to think that (since I'd never actually heard of this quest) it isn't shown quite prominently enough. Again, lemme know what you think, and thank you for bringing it up. :) --¿Vulpa? 02:04, 17 July 2013 (GMT)

Cheese!Edit

Cheese Wedge.jpg
You have been given a wedge of cheese!!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a wedge of cheese because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Hiya Vulpa ! I just wanted to say that you are awesome and totally deserve a hunk of cheese for all your hard work. :D I think it's awesome that someone simply mentioned an ugly page and you decided to take the initiative to improve it greatly! You did a fantastic job on Oblivion:Owyn recently, and have been making great contributions elsewhere for a while as well. Keep up the good work! :) — ABCface 03:44, 17 July 2013 (GMT)

Aw, thanks! :D I'm glad to have found something I can make a difference in. :) Next stop: the Arena page. I think someone mentioned that as well... ;) --¿Vulpa? 13:19, 17 July 2013 (GMT)

Lore MapsEdit

Hi Vulpa. The edited lore maps you've been uploading really aren't necessary. The islands are already labelled on the map; adding a big red circle around them simply detracts from the image's quality. With certain exceptions, unedited maps are much more preferable. —Legoless (talk) 02:23, 31 July 2013 (GMT)

Okay I see what you mean but I do have to disagree. :) First of all, I brought it up first here, where the (brief) general consensus was that it was allowable. Secondly, I for one can't read that map! It's the only one we have of the area and frankly, the print is too small for the places I'm "highlighting". Zooming in blurs it too much, and that's assuming you can find the area mentioned in the first place (most of the islands are small). I would understand where you're coming from if I could read the map, but with 20/20 vision I can't see very much. :P --¿Vulpa? 02:40, 31 July 2013 (GMT)
Also, I kinda thought the additions were discreet... I mean, it's a rather small circle that you really only notice if you click on the image for a zoomed in look, which you would only use in the first place if you couldn't quickly find what you were looking for (hence, the circle to help). --¿Vulpa? 02:42, 31 July 2013 (GMT)
I don't have any issue with making maps of a general area more visually usable. I do agree with adding these. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:55, 31 July 2013 (GMT)
My bad, I'll move discussion to the talk page. —Legoless (talk) 03:15, 31 July 2013 (GMT)

Add New SectionEdit

Hey! Saw your edit summary. :p Try removing that final |} at the bottom of your talk page, effectively leaving the box open. Then Add New Section should actually work the way you want it to. You'll know it does if this post moves itself inside the orange box after you make that small change. --Nocte|Chat|Look 21:46, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

Heyyy very nice! Thanks Nocte! :) Now I just need to figure out how people get custom notices to come up while adding a new section on their pages... --¿Vulpa? 22:07, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
I fixed the box color thing there, by the way. Dragon Guard (talk) 22:11, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
I don't know what you mean about the box color... I saw that you moved the |} from above Nocte's post to below, which I then removed completely, following his comment about "leaving it open". Is that what you meant? --¿Vulpa? 22:15, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
I moved the |}, which then pulled the color box down. Dragon Guard (talk) 22:17, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
Ah, I see what you meant. Thanks, but nobody should have to do that anymore now that Nocte figured it out. :) --¿Vulpa? 22:20, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

() To put the custom notice on your talk page, edit here. — ABCface 22:28, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

I knew that'd work. ;) Thank you! :) --¿Vulpa? 22:42, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
Glad I could help! Snowmane showed me that trick with the div tag on my page, so I thought it might work here. --Nocte|Chat|Look 23:41, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

Thank you!Edit

Hey Vulpa! Just wanted to swing by and thank you for fixing the links on the social media policy page. It is muchly appreciated by this s'wit. I owe you a sweetroll! -- Avron the S'wit (talk) 14:36, 19 August 2013 (GMT)

No problem. :) Mmmm a sweetroll would almost be a birthday cupcake for me... *licks lips* --¿Vulpa? 23:58, 19 August 2013 (GMT)

Fish!Edit

SR-creature-Slaughterfish.jpg Great edits Vulpa!!! I'd give you a kitten or cheese, but fish are much superior. Horseshoecrab (talk) 12:51, 27 August 2013 (GMT)

Why thank you. :) --¿Vulpa? 12:57, 27 August 2013 (GMT)

Mentoring 2Edit

Since you have been inactive since March, I have removed you from the mentor list. I hope you can come back soon and get back on that list. :) ~ Ad intellige (talk) 01:07, 14 July 2014 (GMT)

Haskill—SandboxEdit

Hi, in case you didn't know, AKB has a sandbox for Haskill. To be quite honest, I was planning on doing one too. Are you going to integrate yours into AKB's or vice versa? DRAGON GUARD(TALK) 09:57, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Given the fact that Vulpa has been inactive since March 2014, I doubt there will be any response from this side... -- SarthesArai Talk 18:06, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
I also asked AKB who was working on Haskill in a sandbox too. Fundamentally speaking—should two editors be working on the same page at the same time? I hardly think so; I'm against it. Let's sort this out now before it positively inundates the site like when I copied Jimeee's sandbox on Harkon. I got stopped before I could finish the copied sandbox. DRAGON GUARD(TALK) 18:34, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
Feel free to use anything I have in my sandbox, although from what I remember it wasn't much. --¿Vulpa? 18:38, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
Oh right, I think I got all the dialogue! I'm fine with that being used if it's still needed, no problem. --¿Vulpa? 19:09, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

CategoriesEdit

The Dye Station categories belong on the actual redirect pages (e.g. here), rather than on the pages they forward to. —Legoless (talk) 02:06, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Please don't change anything back yet haha. I actually just took a longer look at this. One of the like thirty dye stations has its own page, so should it be deleted and should I just conform to what you just said, or shall I make a quick page for each of the stations? (I'm bored and would love to.) ¿Vulpa? 02:08, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
I mean they all have their own special pretty name... I think they should have pages. :D ¿Vulpa? 02:11, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
You mean Online:Experimental Iridescence? Not sure why that was originally created - something about it being marked on the map, but I'm pretty sure every dye station is marked. I doubt many of them need a separate page since they usually have parent place pages where a {{Place Link}} can be listed. Whether the stations have a full page or a redirect is irrelevant in terms of categorization though. I should point out these two exceptions though. Those dye stations are unnamed and don't have a redirect, so adding the category to the parent page was entirely correct. —Legoless (talk) 02:16, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
Yeah that's the one I mean. I'll fix my errors with the categories if you haven't already (wooo -.-) and thank you for pointing them out, I honestly never would have guessed they belong on the redirects lol. But I do like consistency... if none of the other dye stations deserve a page (and others are definitely marked on the map), I don't think Experimental Iridescence really needs one either? Although again I'll gladly make quick pages for the others, it's cut and paste and I want something mindless to work on. ¿Vulpa? 02:27, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
I've reverted it to a redirect for now and added the new category. —Legoless (talk) 02:48, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
