Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Between the LinesEdit

Many alchemists also deal in "special substances"

The guards are less suspicious if you meet in public

Speak to a noble, who says:

"I was wondering if you might do me a small favor. You see, I have a friend who requires a certain shipment of a certain substance brought by a certain time. I trust I'm making myself clear. Are you available for such an assignment, given a payment of, say, (random gold) gold pieces?"

AcceptEdit

The noble goes on:

"So, you are available. Well, that's grand, I must say. Now then, here's a whatsamajig, a (ingredient). It needs to be brought to an alchemist I know by the name of (alchemist's name). You'll find (him/her) at (alchemist's shop) in (first town). With luck, (he/she) will have something for you to bring to my friend, (noble's friend's name). Well, you best be off. (Alchemist's name) told me (he/she) needed the (ingredient) in (first time limit) days or less. Thank you and have a good journey."

DeclineEdit

The noble answers:

"Well, I'm certainly disappointed. I would've expected more enthusiasm. Ah well, it's these times that breed sloth and indolence, I suppose."

BootleggingEdit

The quest is composed of two easy deliveries; just follow the time limits since they are very tight. As long as you use fast travel and have a horse the time limits should not be a problem.

Travel to the town the noble spoke of and locate the alchemist's shop. Enter it and deliver the ingredient. When you hand over the ingredient, the alchemist will say:

"Lovely, (player's first name), lovely. Now, here's the (contraband) that needs to be given to (noble's friend's name) over in (building) in (second town). Don't dawdle, (player's name). (Noble's friend's name) needs it in (second time limit) days or less."

Head to the second town and locate the noble's friend.

RewardEdit

When you deliver the alchemist's "item" to the noble's friend, they will thank you:

"(Oath), I was wondering when you'd get here. You are (player's first name)? I'm (noble's friend's name), and that, I believe, is my (contraband). If you haven't tried it before, you really should. The effect is heavenly. Anyway, here's your (random gold) gold pieces. Thanks a lot, (player's first name). You're a life saver."

  • "They say it's tough to concoct a good dose of (contraband), takes years of study."

If you fail the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "It turns out (noble's friend's name) was a (contraband) addict after all. They caught (him/her) buying it."
  • "I wonder who was supplying that (alchemist's name) with the ingredients (he/she) needed."

If you successfully complete the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "(Noble's friend's name) finally got that shipment (he/she) was waiting for. He [sic]'s happy as a harpy."
  • "(Noble's name) seems pretty pleased with a (player's race) mercenary, but won't say why."

If you successfully complete the quest, the quest giver may later greet you with:

  • "You did a fine job on that delivery, my friend. What can I do for you?"
  • "(Oath), good to see you again, (player's first name). You did a good job on that ... little job."

If you failed the quest, the quest giver will greet you with:

  • "As I recall, you failed the last assignment I gave you. I see little point in talking with you now."
