Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Sentimental ValueEdit

Speak to a noble, who says:

"I have a (item) that's very precious to me. It's been handed down from generation to generation in my family. Knowing this, a small pack of orcish bandits have stolen it and are holding it for ransom. I have no intention of rewarding them for this outrage. On the other hand, I will pay the full amount of the ransom, (random gold) gold pieces to you if you would go to their holdout and steal the (item) back. Will you?"

AcceptEdit

The noble goes on:

"Good. Now, I am given to understand that the orcs' hideout in in the old (dungeon). That's where, I suppose, they're keeping my (item) as well. If you're not back in (time limit) days, I'll presume you haven't found the (item), and will give your reward money to the orcs as ransom. Don't fail me on this, (player's first name). Good luck."

DeclineEdit

The noble answers:

"(Oath)! You will not do this for me? Then I will have to pay the ransom. You disappoint me, (player's first name)."

Recover the HeirloomEdit

The orcs have some interesting hiding spots for their loot

Just a standard dungeon crawl. Head to the dungeon and find the heirloom, which will be a random piece of jewelry. When you pick up the item, you will get a notification: You have found the (item). Bring it back to the noble for your reward.

RewardEdit

When you bring back the item, the noble will thank you and say:

"Somehow I knew you'd find my (item), (player's first name). I will happily give you the gold I was saving for the (item)'s ransom. I cannot thank you enough."

EnemiesEdit

  • Random dungeon monsters

NotesEdit

  • Although the noble speaks of the item being stolen by orcs and the dungeon being an orcish hideout, you will not necessarily encounter any on this quest.
  • If you keep the heirloom, it will remain in your inventory and won't vanish once the quest is over, as it is usual the case for quest items.

Additional DialogueEdit

After you have accepted this quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "There's a bunch of orcs hanging out at (dungeon)."
  • "Those orcs at (dungeon) are figuring they'll get rich off (noble's name)."

If you fail the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "The orcs at (dungeon) cleared out after (noble's name) paid them off."
  • "(Noble's name) is apparently furious at some (player's race) adventurer."

If you successfully complete the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "A bunch of orcs are complaining that (noble's name) stole a relic of theirs."
  • "(Dungeon) is apparently as not as secure a hiding spot as one might think."

If you successfully complete the quest, the quest giver may later greet you with:

  • "Hello again, my young friend. I haven't forgotten about the orc affair, you know."
  • "I hope you haven't spent all my reward gold already, my friend."

If you failed the quest, the quest giver will greet you with:

  • "Go to Oblivion, (player's first name). I haven't forgot about you failing that mission of mine."
