Helping a few soulsEdit
Talk to Sirinque to start the quest. If you have talked with Telenger the Artificer for the quest The Mallari-Mora, he will have mentioned her, but no new dialogue is created by this previous mention. Sirinque will ask you to help her with an experiment related to releasing the spirits in the ruins. After agreeing, she will give you a Micro-Etched Crystal to use. After this, you need to weaken spirits around the area then use the crystal on them. This should be rather easy as the spirits aren't very strong and will become un-attackable after they're weakened, making it impossible to accidentally kill them instead. (After defeating a spirit, there will be a random chance of using her rune-etched crystal to free a defeated spirit from the bonds of Nirn.) The spirits will seem rather happy about being free. After you've freed 10 spirits, you will no longer be able to use the crystal in this way. A spirit named Quaronaldil Duure will ask you to come to meet him at the edge of the ruins.
The bigger solutionEdit
Once you arrive at the meeting place, talk with Quaronaldil. He'll explain he was Essanyon Duure's brother, that his brother is responsible for trapping these souls to eternal torment due to his zealotry, and that he hopes to undo his brother's actions. He will also explain that, inside the vault you're standing next to, there is a crystal similar to the one you received from Sirinque -- but much more powerful. You immediately realize it might be able to free all the spirits, and he agrees, but he explains there is a puzzle serving as an obstacle first. If you have persuasion, you can ask for a tip on the correct constellations to choose (he will tell you the guardian constellations would be his guess).
Go inside the vault. The answer to the puzzle is portrayed on the pillars in the room: the Warrior, the Thief, the Mage, and the Serpent. Choose the corresponding four constellations from the tiles on the floor (order does not matter). After making your selections, attempt to open the chest at the center of the room. If you chose incorrectly, a spike trap will erupt from the floor and the puzzle will reset. If you chose correctly, the chest will open. Loot the lattice from the chest and leave the vault. Outside, you will find Sirinque talking to Quaronaldil. Give her the lattice and her crystal, which she will use to free the spirits from the Mallari-Mora's curse. Talk to her again and she will tell you the crystal lattice was destroyed, but the curse is lifted. She will also explain that the spirits won't be gone right away, but over time they will learn they are free to move on. The spirits will no longer be hostile after this, and the quest will be completed.

- The spikes that hit you when you fail the puzzle inflict no damage.
