Honor BoundEdit

Honor on Solstice

While in Western Solstice, you can meet with Squire Albec, the would-be squire of Sir Cadwell. You can help him look for Honor, who has been wandering around in the wilderness. However, you soon learn that Deathbringer Zara-Vyln is also hunting him. After you place Honor's Fruit Blend Snack to lure the bantam guar out, the following happens:

<Honor appears and moves cautiously to the bowl. Zara-Vyln suddenly jumps out of a portal.>
Deathbringer Zara-Vyln: "There's the little beast. You're mine now!"
<Squire Albec runs in and jumps in the path of the portal trap and disappears.>
Squire Albec: "I'll save you, Honor!"
<Deathbringer Zara-Vyln leaves through her portal.>

You and Honor are now left alone looking at each other. With no other option, you can try talking to Honor:

<Honor watches you, clearly waiting for you to do something.>
Honor, Deathbringer Zara-Vyln kidnapped Squire Albec instead of you.
<Honor continues to watch you. He doesn't react to your voice.>
Should we try and save the squire?
<Honor doesn't move. His eyes stay locked onto you.>
Right. Let's go save the squire. Can you lead me to him, Honor?

At this, Honor will begin following the trail of Squire Albec. He leads you to a stone door built into the nearby mountain, talking to Honor before trying the door:

<Honor turns away from the door to look at you.>
Is there something interesting about this door?
<Honor looks at you soundlessly.>

Knocking on the door of the Hillside Refuge, Deathbringer Zara-Vyln will call out that she is currently busy torturing someone, and for you to go away. When this happens, Honor will trot over to the nearby hole in the wall.

Try talking to Honor to see if he has any suggestions:

<Honor stands next to a hole in the wall. It seems to lead to a narrow passage. He watches you silently.>
Are you showing me that small opening? I can't fit through there.
<Honor steps toward the hole while maintaining constant eye contact with you.>
Oh, you want to go in. Can you unlock the door from inside?
<Honor takes another step toward the hole, clearly ready to go through.>
Go ahead. I'll watch your progress from out here. Stay safe.

At this, you will now be on the other side of the hole and in control of Honor. You can explore the Hillside Refuge until you reach the lever next to the door. Once the lever is pulled, you will be back with your character and can now go inside.

Once in the Inner Shrine, you will find the tied up Squire Albec refusing to talk, and Honor has snuck up to him and Zara-Vyln. Once Deathbringer Zara-Vyln is slain, you can free Squire Albec and follow him out of the ruin.

You can then meet up with Honor and Squire Albec and talk to the latter to complete the quest. If you speak to Honor first:

<Honor watches you impassively. If he's proud of his work, it doesn't show.>

After completing the quest, you will be given the option to pet Honor. Instead of an animation, you will see the following text:

<Honor's gaze switches between you and Squire Albec. He doesn't display a preference for either.>
