Karthwatch is the capital town of Karthald Hold in Western Skyrim.
It has recently been struck by a harrowstorm, which killed most of the residents, or turned them into mindless harrowfiends. The remaining inhabitants have been either been transformed into hollow harrowed husks, or have been abducted by Reachmen.
Lodestone, one of the musical instruments collected for the Bards College in Solitude, can be found behind the Karthwatch windmill.
The entrance to Bleakridge Barrow is located within the town's outer edge, which in turn leads to Red Eagle Ridge in the mountain above the town.
