Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Upon entering The Tangle, you will find a strange little man inside a cage. Speak with him and figure out what he's doing in that rusty old cage.
- "Would you like to hear the fragrant word of Azurah?
It was she who gave us shape and told us the three secrets. She who protected us from the wrath of Y'ffre and taught us the mysteries of the Moons." - Why are you in a cage?
- "Ah, yes. Mazdurr entered this den of vagrants with the most honorable of intentions. He only wished to share the wisdom of our Lady of Dusk and Dawn.
This is the unfortunate result." - Do you need help escaping?
- "That would be most appreciated. This one is sure you'll find the key nearby.
Ah, and if you could recover Mazdurr's amulet of Azurah as well? The bandit's leader, Zayreba Sharpclaw, seemed to admire it greatly. It will likely be by her side." - I'll get the key and recover your amulet.
His name is Mazdurr the Moonstruck, and he is very devoted to the Khajiiti goddess Azurah. Mazdurr came to The Tangle to spread her holy word to its occupants. Being vagrants, they surely must have needed the hand of Azurah to guide them to a better path. Unfortunately, the bandits who have taken refuge here decided that the best course of action regarding their little visitor would be to lock him in a cage and sell him into slavery. Understandably, Mazdurr wants out.
You look strong and you have weapons, so you'd make the perfect candidate for a savior. Mazdurr would like you to fetch the key to his cage and his Amulet of Azurah, which the bandits stole from him before locking him up. The key is located in the central chamber near the leader of this sect of the Ruddy Fangs: Zayreba Sharpclaw. She sits upon her throne, with the amulet in a lockbox next to her. According to Mazdurr, she was very fond of the amulet, so she decided to keep it when she stole it away from Azurah's devoted servant. Zayreba is flanked by two guards from her bandit pride, so be mindful of them while retrieving the amulet.
The key is in a backpack in a chamber not far from the amulet. You should be able to walk from one room to the next and have both objects in hand. This quest is fairly straightforward, and you should be on your way to free Mazdurr in no time. When you've unlocked his cage, Mazdurr will thank you before running outside. You should meet him on the cliff outside the cave so he can reward you for your service to him.
- "Mazdurr is grateful for such a rescue. Were you able to find his amulet as well?"
- I recovered your amulet of Azurah.
- "Then you have this one's gratitude.
And the gratitude of Azurah as well, it seems. Just as Mazdurr was leaving, he happened to find something of value. Take it as your well earned reward."
