Riftmaster Naqri is an Imperial member of the Scribes of Mora who has sided with Valinna in her takeover of the organization. He is the first boss of Scrivener's Hall.

- Sword Strike
- A basic melee attack dealing moderate physical damage.
- Spinning Slash
- Riftmaster Naqri winds up his sword, before performing a spinning strike dealing very high physical damage. This attack can be blocked.
- Cyclonic Frost
- Riftmaster Naqri summons a cyclone of books that send out ice bolts causing high area-of-effect frost damage.
- Unstable Literature
- Riftmaster Naqri summons a storm of books in the center of the arena. The storm itself deals very high magical damage. The storm also sends out flying pages close together outwards as it spins, which deal moderate magical damage each. At the same time, similar storms begin traveling all over the arena, dealing lesser damage than the static storm.
- Runic Explosion
- Riftmaster Naqri conjures a rune that tracks your movement before exploding, indicated by a growing circular AoE. You must time your dodge to avoid the damage.
- Summon Allies
- Throughout the fight, other Scribes of Mora will come into the room to assist Riftmaster Naqri.
- Summon Illusion
- Riftmaster Naqri creates a large magical book (out of three possible options) in the center of the arena, which summons an illusion of himself to perform special attacks. The only way to remove the book is to chase down its source in one of the plentiful bookshelves in the arena. The book in the center will shoot out magical orbs that hint at the source's direction:
- Freezing Codex: A white book that summons a conjured illusion in the form of an enemy, who heavy attacks with frost damage. Its damage can be mitigated by blocking.
- Burning Codex: A red book that summons a conjured illusion in the form of an enemy who, if not interrupted, causes flame damage with projectile attacks.
- Poisonous Codex: A green book that summons a conjured illusion in the form of area-of-effect circles of poison damage. The damage can be avoided by roll-dodging out of the circles.
- Profane Book
- At 65%/50%/40%/25%, Riftmaster Naqri dashes to any far ends of the arena and summons a large glowing green book before him. He then proceeds to charge it with power before unleashing it at you, dealing massive magical damage. You must hurry and get close to the book and block to mitigate the damage.
Quest-Related EventsEdit
Riftmaster Naqri is first encountered once you enter the Halls proper, Keshargo will ask you to take a look around before he notices Valinna and Riftmaster Naqri in conversation:
- Keshargo: "The hall, bask in its magnificence— shh! That's Valinna!"
- <He heads over to listen.>
- Valinna: "I need that staff. Lock the gates, Riftmaster. No one leaves until I find it."
- Riftmaster Naqri: "No one has ever challenged me and lived, Magnastylus."
- Keshargo: "She has them calling her Magnastylus? No matter, the staff remains hidden. Our efforts may yet be successful."
- <Valinna and Naqri move on.>
Following Keshargo, you soon arrive in a vast library where Valinna will be giving orders to the Riftmaster:
- Valinna: "I must consult the web of truth. Alert me with any news of the staff or the old fool."
- Riftmaster Naqri: "No need to involve you, Magnastylus. I'll beat anyone who tries to get through here."
- <Valinna goes through door and Riftmaster Naqri stalks to the middle of the room.>
- Keshargo: "Naqri guards the rifts due to his more … aggressive nature. There'll be no reasoning with him."
When you begin your fight with him, Riftmaster Naqri will say one of the following:
- "I'll defeat you under the Golden Eye's watch."
- "Foolish heroes to follow an old fool. How fitting."
- "Been too long since I faced enemies on this side of the gate."
During fight:
- "Let's test your mettle."
- "I'll defeat you with the works of the scribes."
- "Knowledge, give me versatility."
- "Knowledge, give me reserves."
- "Knowledge, give me power."
- "Knowledge, give me strength."
- "I command the realms of knowledge!"
- "Stay still. Let me put a book through your skull."
- "I'll fill books with your blood."
- "I'll batter your bones with hardcovers."
- "I've held the horrors at bay. You are nothing."

Once you have slain Riftmaster Naqri, Keshargo will make a comment before heading to the Deadlands Pathway door:
- Riftmaster Naqri: "You can't get past me."
- <Riftmaster Naqri dies.>
- Keshargo: "Naqri always was too arrogant."
- <He runs to the door and goes through.>
- Keshargo: "Web of truth? What could Valinna mean? No matter, we must retrieve the Itinerant Staff."

- Sigils used by Riftmaster Naqri are identical in appearance to Symbols of Xarxes used by Archivist Ernarde. They differ in colors and effects, however.
