Talaya was a Khajiit member of the Black Horse Couriers. She prepared racecourses for prospective jockeys to ride through on horseback. She and Ahmat were an integral part of the scrapped Horse Racing feature.

After completing the course:

"This is Ahmat's childhood home, he says. If this one was a child here, this one would have run away from home."

"What? You beat my course? Hm. Well, maybe this one can finally leave this burning wasteland."

"The sun here is too hot. And the sand burns this one's paws."

"It is the desert. Too hot. Too flat. Ahmat loves this place, but now this one will spend hours washing the sand out of her fur.
And if that wasn't bad enough, you made Talaya's challenge look easy."

After completing the course:

"Ah, so you made it? Talaya is relieved. Just in case Ahmat succeeds in convincing the queen to try the course, this one wanted to make sure it was not too dangerous."

"If you see the queen, tell her where to find us. Tell her that Talaya has designed a challenge just for her, yes?
This one would be deeply honored to have her run the course."

"To devise a course worthy of a queen is no small thing, yes? This one hopes it is a good challenge for her Majesty but that she remains safe from harm … this one hopes, at least."

I survived it.

"Yes. You are a fine rider. Racing is a thrill for you, yes? You should try building the course. That is the real thrill.
To see riders expand their potential, racing the course you have set for them … there is no greater thrill than that."

If this one must face the prospect of spending all eternity here, then she will spend it refining this course to perfection."

After completing the course:

"Talaya needs to find that Cadwell. That old bastard better have some ideas for how to make the course more difficult."

"How did you do it? Talaya believed she had designed a course that would be impossible to complete.
Apparently, she was wrong."

Apparently so.

"Do you know what this means? It means that Talaya has to start over now. She must devise a course that is more difficult.
So frustrating! But then again, this one has nothing better to do."

"There. If this Rigurd [sic] the Brash character does not adopt this course as part of the Konunleikar then he simply does not like horse races.
Talaya has given him the best course this land can offer."

After beating the course:

"Sleek ride! You have impressed Talaya, and that is not always easy.
She slaved away on this course for weeks, trying to make it perfect for these brutish Nords, but they said it was impossible to complete in time. You proved them wrong, yes?"

"Talaya hopes to see you again. Next time, perhaps she can build a course that you will not complete so easily!"

Yes. I proved it was possible.

"Yes. Now this Rigurd [sic] the Brash can eat Talaya's tail!
Now, he must adopt the course as part of the Konunleikar. If he still refuses, this one will claw out his eyes. Instead of Rigurd [sic] the Brash, he will be Rigurd [sic] the Blind."

"Designing a horse-racing course in this forest is like trying to weave a new shirt using sticks and stones. The raw materials Talaya needs are simply not here."

After completing the course:

"This is fine. Talaya will simply have to redouble her efforts. She will make the course harder, yes?
Perhaps … more roots? And maybe some hoarvoars …."

"Hold on. This can't be right. Talaya tested this course! No one could have finished it so fast as you have.
Tell the truth—you cut corners, didn't you?"

I followed the course as it's laid out.

"Bah! This silly forest must be making Talaya soft! If you can finish the course so easily, this one clearly has more work to do.
You have earned Talaya's respect though. Next time, she will ensure it is not so easy, even for you."

"Talaya hears there are old Imperial tunnels running underground in this part of Valenwood.
What if this one designed a course down there? Just think of it!"

After completing the course:

"Go on now. You must find another of our courses. Surely, there will be one you cannot complete so easily."

"Talaya wonders if this is really a good place for a riding course. The Bosmer only like to run around in the foresta [sic] and play games.
This one is very glad you ran the course. Otherwise, her work would be wasted. So you finished fast, yes?"

I completed the course in the allotted time.

"Yes. Very impressive. Talaya thinks you may be here [sic] favorite person in all of Valenwood.
Don't get any ideas though! This one is married to the race. She does not need another lover."

Talaya must be cautious. These Wood Orcs are not happy that this one designed a race course to run right through their lands."

After completing the course:

"You just wait. Talaya is no mewling, dull-clawed kitten. You want a hard course, this one will give it to you!"

"Wait a minute! You finished the course? Already? Did the Wood Orcs just wave you right through?
Talaya has a hard time believing you beat the course so easily. Are you sure you didn't cheat?"

I didn't cheat. I finished the course fairly.

"Bah! Then Talaya has once again designed a course that is too easy!
Next time, you will not finish so easily! This one swears on it!"

Reaper's MarchEdit

"Talaya was raised in these parts—just along the edge of Valenwood. This one has always dreamed of returning and designing a course here.
Praise the Moons for making it so. This is my finest work."

After completing the course:

"Go on now. Talaya needs to retrace the course. She will figure out your trick, and she will amend the course so that others cannot complete it so easily."

"No … no! This cannot be! You cannot have completed this course so quickly, so easily!
Talaya spent weeks designing this. She was convinced that it would be years before someone would do this! How did you do it?"

I just rode as fast as I could.

"You just rode as fast as you could? Bah! Talaya is no fool. You clearly figured out some trick, some secret that this one overlooked.
No matter. You've won for now. Talaya will not deny that."

The RiftEdit

"This is a harsh land, and it warrants a harsh course. Talaya must warn you, if you decide to race the course, you do so at your own risk. This one cannot guarantee your safety."

After completing the course:

"You finished the course? Already? Bah! Talaya is finished with these Ebonheart Pact lands. The people and the horses are just too tough for this one to design a course that really challenges!
Was it really so easy for you?"

"Be on your way now. Talaya has already acknowledged your success. You do not need to remain here and tickle this one's whiskers."

I'm not saying it was easy, but I did finish the course.

"Yes, well. If you finished it, then it was most definitely too easy? Talaya doesn't get it— were the all those Worm Cultists sleeping?
Either way, you faced the challenge and won. You are truly a spotless rider."

After completing the course:

"Every time you beat one of Talaya's courses, you challenge her to do better.
It is good to have a nemesis!"

"What? You completed the course? This was Talaya's most devious challenge yet!"

You seem to be in a bad mood.

"No! Not at all! If you beat Talaya's course, then Talaya must work harder to make the unbeatable course.
