Deliver the goods to the eccentric Thieves Guild patron.
A wealthy patron of the Thieves Guild takes a peculiar pleasure in owning stolen goods. Her tastes are mercurial, but her payments are like Dwarven clockwork.

Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Read the Tip Board in the Thieves Den and accept the listing that starts with "Esteemed Thieves." You may repeatedly click "Goodbye" until it lists the correct quest.
  2. Steal and launder the required items.
  3. Deliver the clean items to the client.
  4. Return to Kari in the Thieves Den.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Read the Tip Board inside Thieves Den. A new message announces,

"Esteemed thieves, I need your help. My wealth is vast and my wants are few. What I cherish most is that which I cannot simply buy. Well-lived objects, near and dear to their owners, from all walks of life. It is my last pleasure. Details attached."

"Payment for stolen goods as requested will be rendered to the guild immediately, provided they have had all traces of ownership severed prior to delivery."

"No partial deliveries will be accepted."

You will need to find and steal three items of the types specified. If you have previously completed quests which offer laundered or stolen shipments, you might already have the items needed in your inventory. If not, collect them by following the hints in your quest log. Once you have the needed clean items find the patron, Countess Viatrix Celata, at the given location. After she has accepted the delivery, return to Kari in Thieves Den to collect your reward.

The delivery locations vary based on the requested object types and the character's alliance as follows:

Treasure Type Aldmeri Dominion Daggerfall Covenant Ebonheart Pact
Games, Dolls, and Statues Vulkhel Guard, Auridon Daggerfall, Glenumbra Davon's Watch, Stonefalls
Ritual Objects and Oddities Elden Root, Grahtwood Wayrest, Stormhaven Mournhold, Deshaan
Writings (inc. Scrivener Supplies) and Maps Marbruk, Greenshade Shornhelm, Rivenspire Stormhold, Shadowfen
Cosmetics, Linens (Dry Goods), and Wardrobe Accessories Baandari Trading Post, Malabal Tor Sentinel, Alik'r Desert Windhelm, Eastmarch
Drinkware, Utensils, and Dishes and Cookware Rawl'kha, Reaper's March Evermore, Bangkorai Riften, The Rift

Note that these only refer to the location where you must deliver the items. They can be stolen from anywhere, either via Pickpocketing, Murder, robbing Safeboxes, or looting other owned containers.

NotesEdit

  • The type of the stolen items can be seen right under their names when you hover over an item in your inventory, for example: Argonian Cologne. Note that the "Treasure Type" is listed as Cosmetics, Grooming items, meaning that this will work for either category.
  • The value of the item makes no difference to the reward. Thus, it is most cost-effective to launder white-level treasures for this quest, and sell anything green or above.
  • You don't actually have to steal or launder the goods in order to complete the quest, you merely need to have clean items of the correct category in your inventory. This means items from the Large Laundered Shipment or even dragon loot can be used to complete the quest.
  • This quest is an efficient way to get Reputation for the Guild as well as Large Laundered Shipments (which are the only source of Abah's Watch motifs), if you get lucky. If the shipment contains items of the same category as needed when you take the quest again, you can cut out nearly all the legwork.
  • If you reached your daily laundering limit on the respective character, you can also steal/launder the items on another character and then transfer it via the bank.
  • If this quest (the message always starts as "Esteemed thieves...") does not appear on the Tip Board then you may select "Goodbye", rather than accepting. The quest offered is random, so if you keep trying you will eventually get the Covetous Countess.

Quest StagesEdit

The Covetous Countess
Finishes Quest Journal Entry
The contract requests that I steal <treasure types>, launder those items to remove all traces of the original owners, and deliver them to the client, but any clean goods should do.
Objective: Collect "Clean" <treasure types>: 0/3
Now that I have the requested <treasure types>, I must deliver the untraceable goods to the client in <city>.
Objective: Deliver "Clean" Items to Client in <city>
Finishes quest  I completed the odd requests from that eccentric collector. Hopefully it was worth the bother. I should return to the Den for my cut of the payout.
Objective: Return to Kari at the Thieves Den
Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
