Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Sharli, the harbormaster in Charach, can be found in her office by the town docks. She is mulling over the fate of the Emperor Cassynder - a ship attacked by pirates, and now sunk. The merchant-captain who owned thew ship, Theseus Caperno, does not wish her to assist in recovering the cargo - a request that has made Sharli rather suspicious that there is contraband among it. She'll ask that you help in retrieving evidence of this, along with the ship's logbook and a silver goblet.

The shipwreck's location is described as northeast of town, and east of Elcid Islet. That islet is the tiny one immediately to Stirk's northeast, so head to that and look for the wreck in the water to the east of it. Sirens have made their home around it. They are capable of using powerful shock magic at close range, so you may find a Swift Swim or Resist Shock effect useful.

The items you have been specifically asked to retrieve are both in the cabin. The Emperor Cassynder Logbook lies by the bed, and the Silver Hierophant Goblet is behind an overturned bucket.

You may also search the ship for contraband, in which case you need to go to the hold. Expect more Sirens here. Once inside, look for a small chest beside the doorway in the hold area, and activate it to reveal that it is full of Moon Sugar. Your journal will update. You'll also want to take the moon sugar.

You have a choice on returning to Charach. You can either go to the ship's owner, Theseus Caperno, and confront him, or you can bring the evidence directly to Sharli.

The first option can be the most profitable. Theseus is on the ground floor of the Sunset Hotel in town. Challenging him on the Emperor Cassynder will see him make an offer - 750 gold for the Moon Sugar, and an amount you demand for your silence. The higher your Mercantile, the more you can demand. 50+ Mercantile is required to succesfully ask for 1,000 gold, and 90+ to ask for 5,000 gold. Theseus will take the incriminating narcotic, and you can return the goblet and logbook to Sharli for a 200 gold payment.

If you choose to go to Sharli with the moon sugar however, you get a different set of rewards. If you ask for no gold for the Moon Sugar, she'll reward you with the Amulet of Diving. You may otherwise demand 750 gold with 30+ Mercantile, or 1,000 gold with 60+ Mercantile - but this forfeits the amulet reward.

Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
20 Sharli, the Charach harbormaster, has asked me to explore the wreck of the Emperor Cassynder. It was recently sunk by pirates northeast of Charach, close to the coast of Stirk and east of Elcid Islet. Sharli wants me to retrieve the ship's logbook, as well as a valuable silver goblet. She also asked me to keep an eye out for any irregularities. The ship's owner, Theseus Caperno, has refused all offers of help to retrieve his cargo, and Sharli suspects that he has something to hide.
30 I found the ship's log of the Emperor Cassynder. The water has rendered the pages illegible.
40 I found a chest full of moon sugar in the hold of the Emperor Cassynder.
50 I sold back the shipment of moon sugar to Theseus Caperno. He also paid me for keeping his dealings a secret.
100 Finishes quest  I returned the silver goblet and the shipping logs to Sharli. She was disappointed that I found nothing else of note, but has paid me for my services.
110 Finishes quest  I lied to Sharli about the moon sugar chest, but returned the silver goblet and the shipping logs to her. She was disappointed that I found nothing else of note, but paid me for my services.
200 Finishes quest  The moon sugar chest provided Sharli with enough of a lead to start a case against Theseus Caperno.
210 Finishes quest  Sharli is dead.
