Creations are additional content for Skyrim Special Edition. The term was introduced in 2017 for the Creation Club, but on December 5, 2023 with Special Edition Patch 1.6.1130, the Creation Club, Mods, and the then-new Verified Creator Program releases were combined into one "Creations" menu and name.

ModsEdit

Mods, short for modifications or modules, are user-made Creations for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. They may add new content, change existing features/mechanics, fix bugs, add cheats, and more.

Verified Creator ProgramEdit

The Verified Creator Program features Creations for Skyrim Special Edition that have been vetted and approved for sale by Bethesda Game Studios. The Bethesda Game Studios Verified Creator Program was introduced on December 5, 2023, coinciding with the release of Special Edition Patch 1.6.1130 which combined mods and Creation Club Creations under one "Creations" menu and name. Mod authors may apply to be admitted into the Verified Creator Program. If they are accepted, they may submit their Creations to Bethesda's vetting process and await their verification. Users may purchase Creations released through the Verified Creator Program using Creation Credits , and the authors will receive royalties for each sale.

Creation ClubEdit

Creation Club was an in-game microtransactional store for Skyrim Special Edition. A virtual currency called Creation Club Credits was sold within it, which was used to purchase unique add-ons called Creations. Each Creation released through Creation Club is official Bethesda content, developed with third-party developers and contracted mod authors. As official content, Creation Club content does not disable achievement acquisition.

The service entered beta on September 28, 2017 and officially launched on October 4, 2017. It was never available for Skyrim VR.

All 74 Creations are included in the Anniversary Edition. Special Edition and Switch users also receive free access to four Creations: Fishing, Rare Curios, Survival Mode, and Saints & Seducers. Several other discounted Creations were offered for free either on a permanent or temporary basis. On Switch, the Anniversary Upgrade with all the Creations is available, but not the Creation Club itself.

As of December 5th, 2023, Creation Club has been retired and the Verified Creator Program is intended to be its replacement. While Creation Club Creations are considered official content, Verified Creator Program Creations are considered third party mods.

Creation CreditsEdit

Creation Credits (previously Creation Club Credits) are the currency for paid Creations. They may be purchased at the following rates:

  • 750 Creation Credits - $7.99 / €6.99 / £5.99
  • 1500 Creation Credits - $14.99 / €12.99 / £10.99
  • 3000 Creation Credits - $24.99 / €20.99 / £18.99
  • 5500 Creation Credits - $39.99 / €34.99 / £29.99

Additionally, 100 free credits are given to every user the first time they open the Creations menu.

Note that on PC and Xbox One, your credit balance was shared between Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4, the only other game that used the Creation Club. The PlayStation 4 versions of these games did not have this feature.
