Ahtar | Broken Oar Grotto | Leveled gold and he'll follow |
Annekke Crag-Jumper | Cragslane Cavern, Gallows Rock, Lost Knife Hideout, Stony Creek Cave, Uttering Hills Camp | +1 to Light Armor skill and she'll follow |

Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Talk to the quest giver.
- Travel to the bandit lair or dungeon.
- Return to the quest giver for your reward.
NotesEdit
- If you kill Captain Hargar during the quest Lights Out!, or by clearing out the grotto without the quest, then Ahtar won't give you his quest and his disposition will need to be raised in another way in order to have him become a follower.
- Because this is a favor quest which affects the quest giver's disposition, it will count towards the "Help the People" part of the thane quest for the quest giver's hold.
- The quest Harsh Master can have identical quest objectives.
- Version 3.0.1 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch adds the missing bandit camp keywords to Orphan's Tear and Ironback Hideout, resulting in them also becoming possible targets for this quest.
BugsEdit
- If you are sent to Gallows Rock after you have already completed the Companions quest The Silver Hand, then the previously-killed generic Silver Hand members, as well as the unique Krev the Skinner, will all have respawned.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.3.1, addresses this issue. This version makes sure that Krev doesn't respawn, while Version 2.0.9 makes sure that no Silver Hand respawn at all, and that the dungeon will be reset to its original state.
- If you are sent to Uttering Hills Camp and you have already completed Summerset Shadows for the Thieves Guild, you will be unable to complete this quest, as the bandit leader Linwe will already be dead, but there will be an objective arrow pointing to him as if he still needs to be killed.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.3.3, fixes this bug.
- Selecting Linwe's body in the console then typing
resurrect
will bring him back to life as soon as you resume the game. Killing him again will then count for the quest completion. (Doesn't work if you have already received the favor quest, as resurrecting Linwe—before or after entering the cave—doesn't put the quest arrow back on him and killing him again doesn't complete the quest) - If Linwe's body has already disappeared, typing
setstage Favor104 15
in the console will advance the quest. - If
setstage Favor104 15
doesn't help you, type the following commands:prid C5688
and thenkill
. This should select the original quest target and kill him for you, advancing the quest to the next stage. - If
prid C5688
doesn't help you, type the following commands:prid C5675
, thendisable
, and then typeprid C5675
, thenenable
, and finallyresurrect
. This should place Linwe at the empty chair where the quest marker is pointing. Additional Summerset Shadow thieves should spawn as well. - If all previous codes don't work, try
prid 7d67a
, thenresurrect
and finallykill
.

Notes
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage Favor104 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest usingresetquest Favor104
.
