There's so many, I don't know where to start. I have found that people are harder to find in Skyrim, especially when something like finding Journals to bring to Fekel, when I don't know who or where Fekel is. [At least I think that's his name] So now I'm stuck with four journals in my inventory. Hooray. Any help would be well... helpful. There are a lot in Whiterun, like delivering things. I guess that's everywhere, though. 76.106.74.107 17:31, 12 November 2011 (UTC) Kiira
- I also have had problems finding people I am suppose to deliver items to. Maybe we need a page for just discussing what quests and by whom so everyone on the wiki can compare and find if there are similar quests being given, such as a local bandit given by the steward. That seems to be a common random quest for each city--Lord.Baal 06:11, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

- Have you tried visiting the Journal window? You can select which Miscellaneous objectives you want displayed on your map (and then use Clairvoyance to find a path once you get close enough). Make sure to turn on the Miscellaneous category in the Journal or you won't see any effect from this. This usually lets me find people without much difficulty (or determine that they are currently in a locked off area and I need to wait for them to come out). Aetryn 05:05, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

- Someone with some experience laying out large sections may need to give this a lot of thought before people start filling it out. There's hundreds of these in the game. I've completed 50 and have about as many active and I've only been to Riften and Whiterun. Most are mundane tasks, but others are fairly involved. Between static and radiantly created ones this could be a potentially difficult section to do properly.

- I've been getting a handle on the game data, with an eye towards getting NepheleBot to start to fill in some type of content for these quests. Some of the key conclusions I've come to so far:
- We will need a separate quest page for each of the radiant quests. Even if the individual tasks are pretty simple, just documenting all of the radiant options takes up a chunk of the page. For example, Delivery.
- Even if there's only one quest page, we can then have redirects to that page for all of the different names that can appear in game. For example, Deliver Idgrod's Note to Danica -- and the redirects work transparently when used as quest links (e.g, on Idgrod the Younger).
- I think Objectives should be renamed to Miscellaneous Quests, since "Miscellaneous" is the only description seen for these quests in-game. The existing contents of Miscellaneous Quests will need to go somewhere else (Other Quests?)
- Miscellaneous Quests will probably only be able to contain minimal information about the individual quests (if it can even contain any type of quest list), because there are way too many of them (especially once you start multiplying in all of the radiant options).
- We'll need to divide Miscellaneous Quests into various sub-groups, each of which will need to have its own page. "Favors" is one obvious subgroup so far; "Tutorials" and "Wilderness Encounters" are a couple of other subgroups apparent in the game data.
- I'll start fleshing out more of the quests over the next couple days, and see whether I can start to get enough pieces in place to make a workable structure. --NepheleTalk 08:38, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

(←) OK, I've finished my revamp. It's possible the page needs to be split by hold, but I didn't want to think about that yet.
The list on this page ended up being even longer than I'd anticipated. When I got down to it, separating out subgroups such as favors didn't make sense, largely because it's not clear that there's anything different about how favors work. I also started including various Dungeon Quests into the main list. Once the list is this long, it might as well just include all quests that aren't specific to a questline. Also, note that quests with multiple quest-givers are intentionally included on the page multiple times, once for each of the possible quest-givers. This seemed particularly important for radiant quests, so that readers could find the variant of the quest in a given hold as easily as possible.
Details about individual quests/objectives now belong on the individual quest page. And pages have been created for a couple hundred more quests. One of the main issues was deciding on names for the quest pages. I've used the quest name from the game data wherever possible, but the problem is that the "official" quest name is never seen by the player. Therefore I've created a ton of redirects. Redirects exist for the first objective in each quest -- since that is the primary text visible to players. Redirects exist for the names provided by the official game guide. Finally, I've started creating redirects for the EditorID of every quest, because it is the one incontrovertible name associated with the quest, and it is an ID that is readily available to PC players.
Because quests now have their own pages, all of the quest details don't need to be covered on the Miscellaneous Quests page. The details that I kept are the ones that I think are important for finding the quest. The primary objective was to help readers looking for a new quests to do, which is why I've broken down the page according to quest-giver location. However, I also wanted to help readers who have already started a quest and are now trying to locate it. For the sake of these readers, I've included the text of every quest objective on the page, so that a reader searching, for example, for 'Speak with Bryling' will find the correct quest. For such a search to work, however, the displayed objectives need to exactly match the objectives as displayed in game, and not be converted into quest descriptions.
I'm sure that there are countless mistakes in what I've done, and it's also likely that further refinements will be necessary. However, I wanted to try to get something in place as quickly as possible to resolve the confusion about how to document these quests. That's also why I basically just jumped in and revamped the page without discussing it too much here. --NepheleTalk 05:19, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
Visit the Shrine of Azura
Doesn't that start the Azura Daedric quest? 24.156.216.144 10:25, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Bugs.
I received a "letter from a friend" that would have directed me to a new word wall (I had been travelling town to town shouting a lot to deliberately trigger this). I put this letter on a bookshelf in Proudspire before reading it. When I retrieved it, it was just a blank piece of paper, and did not trigger the quest. I can no longer receive any more "letter from a friend". Could someone please confirm this bug? Where is the best place to document it? Here, on the bookshelf page (if there is one), on a general bug page, or all places? Also does anyone know if there is a work around for this bug? Billw 14:22, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Dead Misc. Quest in Riften
Either from the Jarl herself or from her steward Anuriel, I got a quest to go clear Nilheim of some bandit types. Unfortunately I'd already cleared it, and the place now stays stubbornly cleared, meaning that I can never complete that quest. Highly annoying. 95.166.215.238 13:58, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- The default respawn time is 10 days, but I suspect this is reset every time you revisit the location. You need to stay away from it for 10 days. -- Billw 20:19, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

(←) Still buggy (1.6.89.0.6, PC). I have several stuck misc quests in my quest log - Skalde, "Go to the college of winterhold", rift watchtower kill quest..and my newest addition, finding rjorns drum. Additionally (because that wouldn't be annoying enough), misc quest markers often don't appear in the world, just on the map. MriDar 22:40, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
I am having this same problem. I have several miscellaneous quests stuck as well. Some have map markers in the right place, some have them in the wrong place, and some have no map markers. I have "Talk to Brynjolf about joining the Thieves Guild" this is done and I am to the part where the Dragonborn has to talk to Calcelmo to get journal translated I get a map marker in the correct place, two "collect bounty from Skald" I have collected this both times, and both will not let me seclect them but they will let me "Show On Map" but it shows that the quests are in the Winterhold area ( hard to say where because there is no marker but when "show on map" is pressed it centers around the Winterhold/College area, I have a "Find Finn's Lute" and I not only found it I gave it to them ( can't remember who wanted it ) this will let me seclect it as active but does not show a map marker but the "show on map" option centers on the Winterhold area aswell, I have a "Kill the bandit leader located at Niheim" I am pretty sure I cleared this before I got this quest and then I did it again when I got the quest, I got rewarded and right away went out of the conversion and then back in again ( to reset the dialog ) and he gave me the same quest again except this time when checked I get no map marker but the "Center on map" option centers on the Winterhold area again, I have a "Kill the dragon located at Mount Anthor" and this I did once got rewarded got the quest again except this time when checked the map marker is in a area of the map that I can't seem to get too ( it is on the side of a mountain just North of "Fallowstone Cave" ) the marker on the map is one indicating that the object is outside but directs you to enter the cave to get to it, and if I remember right I was in "Fallowstone Cave" to get a book I think right before I eather went to collect the bounty or right before I killed the dragon. I have had miscellaneous missions sence this started that have worked normally. I am not sure but I think that this may have something to do with the "Collage in Winterhold" quest line because I am pretty sure that is what I was doing when this started and more than one of the stuck quests "center on map" on that area even know they are not there. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or at least know what the root cause is? I am pretty far level 49 and this started probably at level 30 or so and all the saves that old are gone so reloading is not a option but even if it was I dont know what started it. I plan on going through the game again with a diffrent char type and would like to avoid this if I can. Diggity dz (talk) 03:09, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
Calcelmo Dwemer Museum (Kill Nimhe(?) the spider)
I think this is a rather static miscelaneous objective, you get it from Calcelmo, need to kill the spider and the reward is entrance/the key to the Dwemer Museum (Didn't pay attention to which one you get). I don't know how or where to edit this in, so if someone else would want to do that and then delete this section here? Thank you.--Ji e toy 01:19, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Master trainer quests?
There are quests related to the master trainers of Winterhold College. These quests will become available once you reach 100 in a magic school and will give the most powerful spells of each school. I don't know if there are quests for other master trainers if the related skill hits 100. 91.42.177.163 23:57, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Sabine Nytte
I have a miscellaneous quest asking me to obtain an item from Sabine Nytte. I can find her, but she'll only tell me that I'm trespassing on her ship (which she appears to occupy 24:7) pickpocketing her inventory does not produce the item - is this a bug?
- You're supposed to get Balmora Blue from her. To fix the trespassing bug, type into the console: setcellownership solituderedwave 173.51.151.186 23:25, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- When you're supposed to get Balmora Blue, she's on the deck, not inside, and that isn't a miscellaneous quest, it's Thieves' Guild. If it's Thieves' Guild, she doesn't even have it anyway. --DaedalusMachina 09:57, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
- I had the same problem and you're suggested solution worked. But the item wanted was not "Balmora Blue", it was some Jewelry she wanted enchanted by Sergius Turrianus of the College of Winterhold. Missing quest
There's a "Kill the Bandit Leader" radiant objective for Markarth, as well, but there doesn't seem to be a place for it yet. In my case, I was sent to kill the bandit leader at Bruca's Leap Redoubt , and now I'm supposed to "Collect the bounty from Raerek". Minor Edits 06:24, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
That's the Bounty: Bandit Boss quest. --NepheleTalk 08:25, 30 December 2011 (UTC)- I'd been starting to get worried about why Bruca's Leap Redoubt wasn't listed as one of the possible targets for the bandit bounty quest (and therefore why a redirect didn't exist at "Kill the bandit leader located at Bruca's Leap Redoubt"). However, looking into it more closely, I think you've got the objective wrong and it was just "Kill the leader of Bruca's Leap Redoubt", which is actually part of SR:Bounty: Forsworn. Bruca's Leap Redoubt contains Forsworn, not bandits, so you can't be asked to kill the bandit leader there. --NepheleTalk 17:28, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
No quest markers
I'm having an issue where, when I activate a quest that's listed as 'miscellaneous' in my journal, I don't get a quest marker to point the way, either on my compass or on my map. I used to get quest markers for these quests, back at the beginning of the game, and have only recently noticed this issue. All the other named quests show a marker just fine. I'm on the xbox, so console solutions are out of the question. Any thoughts? Anyone else have this problem? Obax 07:25, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Have you tried to turn off all markers then turn back on the one that you wanted? I've noticed that if I have many markers active sometimes they disappear/don't appear and that by reseting or picking different ones after turning them all off they work again. 96.231.2.101 13:08, 8 January 2012 (UTC) anon
This has happened to me quite a lot. If you activate a miscellaneous quest and the marker doesn't appear, try fast traveling anywhere on the map. Once you are at a new location, check to see if the quest marker has appeared. This has worked for me on numerous occasions.
I had this same problem ( on x box ) untill I relized that you have to have the miscellaneous category and the miscellaneous mission checked or you will not get a map marker. If you un-check the miscellaneous category all of the miscellaneous quest map markers go away checked or not. Diggity dz (talk) 03:09, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
odd dragon happenings
i had gone to riften for a "bounty " on a dragon just of there on a tower. i was able to sneak up and hit it for the normal and 15x damage mod. it roared and took flight then turned back at me. it then dove down, hit the ground, skidded a good distance, flopped about, then died. i had enough time to go down the tower and kill a nearby bear before it began the burn scene. i tried this twice and got the same result. is this a bug/glitch or just how the game reacts to the event.
(edit.) just went to skyborn alter and sneak killed that dragon. same thing happened. used a bow this time. it needed a second hit but then it fell through the rocks as it burned.
Can't Get Rid of Rjorn's Drum
While questing I found Rjorn's Drum. Only later did I discover someone at the Bard's College in Solitude gives you the quest to find it. I took the drum to him. He gave me the reward. But I still have Rjorn's drum in my inventory (unremovable) and "Find Rjorn's Drum" remains listed under Misc. Quests. I can't seem to do anything to remedy this. PZD 20:31, 10 January 2012 (UTC).
Impass Finding Books for Urag gra-Shub at Winterhold College
I started the Misc. quest of finding a series of lost/missing books for Urag gra-Shuk, located in the Arcanaeum at the College of Winterhold. I found and returned the first one just fine, which he began translating. When I obtained the one called Fragment: On Artaeum, Urag gra-Shuk would not recieve it. Next thing I know it's like the whole thing reset. It was like he was accepting the very first book to tranlate and now wanted the next. I can't give him the copy I have in my inventory (of Fragment: On Artaeum), becuase the game gives me a marker to go get it at Bilegulch Mine. When I get to the mine, the marker leads me to the chest I receovered it from before, but it's not inside. I can't put the book back in to retrieve it and Urag gra-Shuk won't accept it until the quest says I've found it. I believe I am at an impass. PZD 20:58, 10 January 2012 (UTC).
Misc Quests goes away and never comes back
I completed or otherwise dispatched (that is, they were renamed to another non-misc quest) all my miscellaneous quests, and the Miscellaneous Quests section of my Quests Journal went away. Now, whenever I receive what would normally be a misc quest, it doesn't do the "Quest started" overlay text, and it doesn't appear in my journal. The quests otherwise progress normally, with NPC dialog options changing appropriately, and such, but I can't see the quest in my journal, and I can't enable quest markers for the quest. I've tried using the console to advance a quest, but it did not solve the problem - it just updated NPC dialog and such. Anybody else experiencing this, and any known workarounds? 174.55.124.57 21:29, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Upon further investigation (namely, starting another Misc quest), I found that this seems to just be the bug with Skyrim:Drowned Sorrows disappearing, since after receiving another unrelated Misc Quest, the Miscellaneous section reappeared, and functioned normally again. I suppose I'll just have to complete Drowned Sorrows blindly then >_> 174.55.124.57 21:48, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Drowned Sorrows never appears in your quest journal; all of its quest objectives are empty. You always have to complete it blindly. There are several miscellaneous quests that are set up like this. The miscellaneous section disappears when all objectives are completed, that's how it's supposed to work. --Morrolan (talk) 13:11, 26 August 2013 (GMT)
Cant get dialog for any radiant misc quests
I just started over after 200+ for the I dont know how many times due to a major bug but right out of the starting gates bamm another bug... I just made it to whiterun as normal and usually as with all my other half playthroughs I wipe out all the misc radiant quests after first arriving only takes a few minutes and just to get them out of the way. But this time nobody is giving me the dialogue Ysolda doesnt ask for her mammoth tusk the kid getting picked on doesn't ask for help amran doesnt ask me to get his family sword after listining to them argue about it I can't brawl with the follower in the bannared mare and the list goes on.
I went back to previous saves to see where it happened and the last good save is right before riverwood I used that and teleported to them and they give me the dialogue but if I just play through normal from that save which ive done 3 times now in the last 2 days even completely starting over once it still does the same thing when I get there no dialogue not at first entry not after becoming thane just no dialogue what so ever.
I have tried console reseting buffer, disabling and enabling them, reseting ai, waiting, going to jail worked once but then noticed the day wouldnt advance past 12pm tried waiting increasing timescale it just froze at 12pm lol had a few bugs like that before once where it was forever nightime out and another the day would change just not the date and so on. Only thing ive done different from the norm this playthrough is collect all the dragon lair word walls right off the bat before fighting the first dragon or even going to whiterun which I have done before just not lately I always go kill krosis though and get that word wall and his mask right after escaping helgen but never have had this problem. If anyone knows what could be causing this any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated because if I dont fix it I swear im going to break this game I'm so sick of game ending bugs and starting over and this one might not sound overly major but to happen this soon in the game is a really bad omen and it will just escalate only way I think i'll ever beat this game is to coc straight to alduin from helgen and kill him lol before the bugs get me. — Unsigned comment by 98.186.81.88 (talk) at 12:30 on 14 September 2012
Difference between Miscellaneous Quests and Miscellaneous Objectives?
I've been trying a playthrough doing nothing but the Misc Quests listed on this page but it seems the way the game counts the quests is off. The MiscOobjectives list in the game menu doesn't match the number of Misc quest I have completed. Its several numbers lower. Does anyone have an explanation for this? — Unsigned comment by 86.174.188.94 (talk) at 09:25 on 22 September 2012
- I'm not sure, but it's possible that quests which can be repeated, or quests which can be done for separate questgivers, do not count each time, but only once, so that's the discrepancy you're seeing. For example, Rare Gifts has different versions depending on who the questgiver is, but you may only have one counted in the number in your journal. This is just a guess, I'm really not sure. — ABCface◥ 09:28, 22 September 2012 (GMT)
(←) It seems that not all of the miscellaneous quests listed on this page count towards the number of miscellaneous objectives listed on the player statistics menu when completed. Can anyone confirm this or explain why this might be? Also, it seems that many of the sections above, don't belong on this page. Is it possible for discussions to be moved by a moderator? 86.174.188.94 10:31, 22 September 2012 (GMT)
- Not sure on the first question (see above), but as for moving previous discussions, most of them are outdated and not worth moving. For archiving purposes, they should remain here until they can be properly archived when the page is long enough. — ABCface◥ 10:34, 22 September 2012 (GMT)
- The miscellaneous objectives counter is based on the number of objectives completed. Some quests (like Drowned Sorrows, mentioned above) have no objectives at all, and count for nothing as a result. A few objectives aren't part of quests, the ever-popular Talk to the Companions leaders for work is an objective, completing it ups the counter. Some quests have a whole bunch of objectives, like the blacksmithing tutorial which has ten (!) objectives and thus counts for one-fifth of Hero of the People by itself. --Morrolan (talk) 13:15, 26 August 2013 (GMT)
Hearthfire house attacks
I don't see the miscellaneous player-built house quests that were added by Hearthfire (shown in CSList here) listed on this page. Currently, the only pages linking to the "Rescue your spouse" quest that I can find are Rochelle the Red and Category:Skyrim-Hearthfire-Quests, and I don't think the other three are linked anywhere at all. Am I missing something, or should these quests be linked here? --Xyzzy Talk 15:55, 31 August 2013 (GMT)
- The Bandit Attack (with Rochelle) and Build Your Own House quests should be added here, but the wolf and giant ones seem to be to be too much like random encounters to be treated as quests. They're not much different from the skeever, dragon, and random bandit encounters that can occur at each homestead. — ABCface◥ 21:27, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

Inaccessible Quests?
There are a few quests listed on this page that I don't believe are actually valid in-game, in particular there are several characters with the Quest All Beggars Have (Gissur and Svari are the ones I've noticed) and Rizelan is listed with Quest All Drunks Have, however I don't believe that these quests can be triggered for these characters at all, and they're not listed on the appropriate quest pages.
Is this some kind of bug in the game (i.e- they have these quests but they're never in a state where they can be triggered), or is it some kind of mistake on the page? It doesn't really seem like they need to be listed, except perhaps as notes somewhere, e.g- the Quest All Beggars have could mention "Gissur and Svari also have this quest, but will never present the dialogue options to trigger it" -- Haravikk (talk) 21:40, 5 May 2015 (GMT)
Consistency
This page does not appear to be very consistent in regards to what is included here. I'd like to clean it up in a few regards but don't know which direction to fix things in. As I'm new here I don't want to step on any toes and thought I'd check for other opinions first. Of course most of you are probably focusing on ESO now so let's see if anyone notices this.
First question, should the miscellaneous quests that are listed on the dungeons quest page be listed here too? Currently some are (eg 'Moss Mother Cavern') and some aren't (eg 'The Affairs of Hagravens'). Should more be added or should the existing ones be removed. Personally I feel more should be added since the Side Quest page lists the Dungeon Quests that are considered side quests. That said there is a bit of redundancy of information here which could be an argument to remove them. Either way we should be going with all or nothing.
Second question, should 'pointer quests' be included here? That is quests that while technically one-off miscellaneous quests are really just preludes to proper named quests. For example 'Visit the Shrine of Azura' which has it's own quest code (DA01Intro) and doesn't come up in the journal , but is clearly just the first part of the Deadric Quest, 'The Black Star' to the point of the link even redirecting to The Black Star page and all the info for both quests being combined on that page. To me this is completely redundant and unnecessary. Also as before this page is currently inconsistent with these as others such as 'Visit the College of Winterhold' or 'Ask about Balgruuf's strange children' are not listed.
Third question, should we count things that don't even have a single miscellaneous objective on this page. For example 'Chop Wood'. Surely these can't be actually considered quests when you are never directed to actually do something. It's selling a product. Similarly 'Quest all Beggars Have' (despite it's deceptive name) is not really a quest as it has no objectives and is really no different to a walking Shrine that costs 1 gold. To quote the top of the Miscellaneous Quests page "These quests appear in your journal, but they are all listed together in the "Miscellaneous" section." If they do not appear in the miscellaneous section they should not be on this page in my opinion, otherwise we would have to include every single thing you could do in the game that gave any sort of reward for doing something insignificant (like kill a fox, use a shrine or secretly kill someone you've befriended to gain an inheritance). These belong on the World Interactions page not the Miscellaneous Quests page as they do not satisfy the one requirement (having a miscellaneous objective).
Fourth question, should we list quests that don't even exist in the game? Some are listed (eg Rogue Wizard), some are not (eg. A Bad Trade). My thoughts, definitely not. These should be kept on the Unfinished Quests page to avoid confusion of someone trying to do them.
Finally, should we list the Hearthfire Quests here such as 'Speak with Constance Michel about Adoption' or 'Build Your Own Home' which isn't listed under quests anywhere. The adoption objective I can't even find a page for with a quest ID, but I have been given the objective.
Thoughts anyone? (especially someone who's a major contributor / admin to the site who understands things around here better than I) — Unsigned comment by 1.129.97.40 (talk)
- I'll take this point by point here. First things first, I recommend registering as a user and creating a sandbox; if you don't want to do that, that's perfectly fine, it just might make things easier.
- Onto your first question: "This page does not list all of the miscellaneous quests available in the game. Apart from quests listed here, please consult the below links for more miscellaneous quests." So I say to remove them from this page, and leave the ones on Dungeon Quests page separate.
- Regarding question two, if it increases the Miscellaneous Objectives statistic then I say it should be on the page, unless it better fits in Bounty Quests, Dungeon Quests, Favors, Tutorials, or World Interactions. Now the ones that segue into an actual quest we might treat differently, I don't know.
- Question three, is pretty much the same as question two: if it increases the Miscellaneous stat, than I say keep it.
- I definitely agree with your assertion in question four. If it's unfinished stick it in Unfinished Quests.
- I'm not sure about your last question though, we'll have to have somebody else answer that, which bring me to my last point:
- Before we do a complete page overhaul we should definitely wait a week or so to see if there is any opposition, or if there are any more answers to your questions. --MetaCthulhu (talk) 02:49, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks for the reply. Account created, no idea what you mean by sandbox. I'm new to this stuff. I have opinions but I don't really know what I'm doing.
- Just want to clarify your points. Correct me if I'm wrong. Q1 You say get rid of these, as they're on the Dungeons page correct? Q2 You start by saying keep them unless it fits better in those various pages you listed, but ultimately unsure. I personally think while these may not fit better on the five pages you listed, they would fit better on the Daedric page / College page / whatever-quest-it-leads-into page. Q3 I don't think is the same as Q2 as I believe they don't in fact increase the Miscellaneous stat. It says on the page that if there is an objective increases the stat but I'm specifically talking about ones that don't have an objective. Presumably that means the don't increase the stat. Also they would be ones that do fit better in Favors (I know I said World Interactions before). So basically I'm confused on your opinion on this one, you say keep it but your reasoning from Q2 argues against it. Q4 Glad we agree. Q5 Happy to wait for another opinion. If not here let's list them somewhere at least.
- Ultimately I agree with the waiting for other opinions. It's the whole reason I asked in the talk page instead of just changing it. I lack the time and skills to properly do it sooner than a week's time anyway. If it's down to me to make the changes once a decision has been made it will be at least a week before I'll be able to do anything about it. As said earlier I don't actually know how to do this stuff, but I think I can work most of it out. — Unsigned comment by Sweet on Khajiit (talk • contribs)

- Hey, sounds good. Anybody can learn to edit, opinions are what are hard to come by. A Sandbox is just a little page a user creates (more on that in a moment) to try some editing out without the stress of messing anything up. To create one (in your case) what you would do is type "User:Sweet on Khajiit/Sandbox 1" into the search bar, and when the results come click "Start the User:Sweet on Khajiit/Sandbox 1 page." From there, copy the Miscellaneous Quests page and get to editing. Just remember to use the "show preview" button so you don't flood the recently changed page; it makes it easier for the people who patrol the edits (They already have a tough enough job as is).

- Q1: Correct, we don't need the redundancy, so if it fits better on Dungeons it should be on Dungeons and not on any other pages (I'm pretty sure there is exceptions to this rule in certain cases, but I doubt this is one of them).
- Q2: Definitely more of a judgement call, (I'm not very good at those) I'll read through the community portal and see if there is anything in there about this, but if not: Do what you think is correct! If somebody doesn't like it or thinks it's wrong, they can just undo the edit and you(plural) can discuss it on the talk page.
- Q3: "Presumably that means they don't increase the stat", You'd be surprised with Bethesda. I've seen my far share of stuff like this, and it's headache inducing. But if it doesn't increase the stat, I say take it off the page. If it does increase the stat, then I say put it onto the appropriate page, whether that page is this one, or one of the world interactions or favors pages. Hopefully my stance on this is cleared up a bit.
- Q4 & Q5: I think I've done all I can for these two questions. Hopefully somebody else shows up so we can see what they think.
- As far as learning the Wiki my advice is "Talk to everyone. Talk is cheap. You don't talk, you don't learn." (also the help files (they're under the search bar) are always useful) --MetaCthulhu (talk) 17:09, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

- Okay so I've created a sandbox and copied the contents of this page to get started on the experimentation. I had to do it in multiple edits because the system wouldn't let me do such a large edit in one go as I'm too much of a noob here, aka not auto-confirmed). And I've somehow screwed up a basic copy and paste job, because it does not look like this page. Can you (or someone else) please look at it and tell me what I did wrong. I'm starting to think I won't be capable of actually doing any proper edits myself.
- Meanwhile I've looked through the pages of all the apparently objectiveless quests and many of them actually do have objectives that were simply not transferred to this page. They obviously need to be kept and have their objectives added. The remaining ones are all different NPC offering one of 'Chop Wood', 'Gather Wheat', 'Mine Ore', 'Fight! Fight!', 'Quest all Beggars Have' or 'Quest all Drunks Have'. All of these six types are listed in the Favors page and none of them have any notes on their pages suggesting that they update the miscellaneous count. I think it's safe to remove these six after the week if nobody else objects.
- Some of the ones without objectives listed are actually Bards College quests. Based on the same logic as the Dungeon Quests I say we remove these too since they are all on the Bard's College page already.
- I may not have learnt how to use the sandbox yet but at least I can now sign my talk page edits (I think). Progress! --Sweet on Khajiit (talk) 10:50, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- PS if we do go down the path of adding the Hearthfire Quests, I can think of three (all miscellaneous I believe)...'Speak with Constance Michel about Adoption' (doesn't have a page I can find to link to), 'Build Your Own Home' (x3) and 'Bandit Attack'. Are there any others I have missed?--Sweet on Khajiit (talk) 11:05, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- You haven't actually screwed up copying the contents, it's just that the page as currently designed is a single outline page with about 20 subpages all copied into it, so you needed to copy all of them as well. In theory, you could've done that yourself, given time, but then you'd probably still be sitting here copying by this time tomorrow. :) I've used a little trick called substitution to integrate all the content into your sandbox so you can play with it. Once you've gotten it all reorganized, we can figure out how best to move it back. – Robin Hood (talk) 23:26, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, much better. I'll edit things there in parts starting with what I think is least likely to cause concern and work up. That way if anything needs to be reverted it's less likely to cause the stuff that doesn't to be redone. I'll update things here when I'm done so people can look at it before deciding to use my version. Might take me a while.--Sweet on Khajiit (talk) 01:49, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Okay. Work in my Sandbox is complete. Took a bit of effort and more edits than I planned (sorry patrollers, I'm not yet autoconfirmed). Here's what I have done.
- 1) Added a couple of quest I found that were missing and listed objectives for quests already there.
- 2) Removed a couple of unfinished quests as they were covered on the Unfinished Quests page.
- 3) Removed all instances of 'Gather Wheat', 'Chop Wood', 'Mine Ore', 'Fight! Fight!', 'Quest all Beggars Have' and 'Quest all Drunks Have' - these are all covered in the Favors page and also all lack objectives that would contribute to the miscellaneous stat (therefore do not fit the description of a miscellaneous quest).
- 4) Removed the few dungeon quests that were here as they were covered by the Dungeon Quests page.
- 5) Removed the 'pointer quests' that link into other full quests (eg Side Quests, Daedric Quests, Faction Quests). The info for them is covered by the relevant full quest pages.
- 6) Removed the Bard's College quests that were here as they were covered by the Bard's College page.
- 7) Add the miscellaneous quests found in Hearthfire.
- Note 1 - There are two quests I left which had no objectives - Drowned Sorrows as this had objectives added by the unofficial patch and Falion's Secret as I didn't know where else it belonged and didn't want to remove it from UESP quest pages entirely.
- Note 2 - Some of the headings (the 'Outside Towns' ones in Falkreath Hold, Haafingar and Winterhold Hold) ended up having nothing left under them so I deleted the tables. I added a table for the quests in Open World and removed the text about pointer quests as it was no longer applicable. I also added a table for Karthwasten as it is a town and therefore quests there cannot be 'outside towns'.
Please have a look and share your thoughts. Also let me know if you spot any mistakes I made. I don't really understand how RobinHood70 got the info onto my sandbox in the first place so will rely on him (or someone else) to move it back after the week or so is up (unless there are objections obviously).--Sweet on Khajiit (talk) 01:18, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
