Skyrim talk:Pacify (effect)
Availability of EffectEdit
As far as I can tell, this effect is only found on staves. Staves cannot be disenchanted. If both of those are true, then the player cannot learn this effect for enchanting. --Fluff 02:55, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
RenamingEdit
Calm, Pacify, and Harmony are all slightly different versions of the same effect. I think Calm should be the more dominant name for this effect (and the one the other two redirect to) for the following reasons: Calm is the name of the base calm spell, the name players are likely to use, and the name specifically mentioned in the text for the Hypnotic Gaze perk. Calm is also the name that was used for this effect in Oblivion. This may require having Skyrim:Calm (spell) and Skyrim:Calm (effect) pages. Chris3145 19:06, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Pacify was chosen as the name of the effect page because it is the more commonly used name in Skyrim -- 4 variants of the magical effect and two spells use the name Pacify, whereas Calm is only used by one magical effect, one spell, and one enchantment. I don't see what purpose is served by reorganizing things at this point. All of the redirects have been set up so no matter what name users search on they end up at the correct page. --NepheleTalk 16:42, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- I thought the calm spell used an effect called calm and the pacify spell used an effect called pacify. What are the four magical effects that use the name pacify? I'm playing on 360, so I don't have access to the console or data files. What I'm able to see suggests that Calm is the more appropriate universal name. Chris3145 19:37, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Charm Faction?Edit
How does the Charm Faction (EditorId MagicCharmFaction, FormId 0008f3e8) relate to the spell? --JP585 22:37, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Dragons?Edit
Are dragons affected by the Pacify effect? If not, are there other types of enemies not affected? Elen Sila (talk) 23:17, 10 April 2013 (GMT)
- Dragons are not affected by Pacify or any offensive Illusion effects, and there is no way to affect them without the console. Undead (including vampires), dwarven automatons and daedra are also not affected, unless you have the Master of the Mind perk.--~The wind, forsaken~ (talk) 23:52, 10 April 2013 (GMT)
- "Normally Pacify has no effect on non-living creatures, namely Undead, Daedra, and Automatons. " Should be: "Normally, Pacify has no effect on non-Living creatures such as Undead and Automatons. It also normally has no effect on Daedra, and never on Dragons." The Daedra are arguably alive as well as the dragons. 75.70.89.124 09:23, 14 June 2013 (GMT)
- Daedra are immortal, you can kill their physical manifestation but their soul remains in whatever plane they came from. --A----N----I----L (talk) 15:06, 14 June 2013 (GMT)
