Bug
Bug? Cannot recharge keening. Skyrim won't show the option to do so. Attacking with Keening will show that it has no charges. 91.42.177.163 00:05, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

- There are other weapons that are "chargeless", such as Valdr's Lucky Dagger - it seems to be related to an effect that is not an enchantment, or at least can't be disenchanted. 124.170.15.129 23:50, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Remove Quest Item Flag?
Several quest lines are bugged insofar that the item you're asked to retrieve isn't removed from the player's inventory. I know you can use the console to player.removeitem
, but I'm weird that way that I want the quest giver to have the item. Is there a way to just remove the flag, so I can reverse-pickpocket the item over to them? (Or something like this pseudo-code, player.giveitem ID NPC
or NPC.giveitem ID

- You can clear the quest item flag by doing a
player.removeitem ID 1
, followed by aplayer.additem ID 1
. This removes the quest-specific instance of the item, and replaces it with a "generic" version that is not tied to the quest. Note however that doing this to an item that is part of an active quest will almost certainly make it impossible to complete the quest. But if it's a quest you never plan on finishing, no harm in it I suppose. Phaid 04:35, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Valdr's Lucky Dagger
According to the criteria given ("items needed to complete a specific quest"), Valdr's Lucky Dagger isn't a Quest Weapon but a reward. It's also got a powerful quasi-magical effect which requires no charges, so I'm not entirely sure what category it SHOULD be... but it's not a quest weapon to the best of my knowledge. 124.170.15.129 06:52, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Fine-Cut Void Salts

Lisbet's Dibella Statue
Can someone with the PC version and the makeshift CK-program add in the correct Dibella Statue or Statue of Dibella for Skyrim:Lisbet's Missing Shipment. Other sites indicate the code is possibly: 0008F997 --Bwross 07:51, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- In a word: no... it doesn't seem to HAVE one. Instead, it looks like it's a "normal" statue at heart, but is renamed when it appears (like a crafted item), and then checked by its now-unique name instead of its id. Probably because the number of quest-related "Dibella Statue"s got so out of hand, but whatever the reason it's pretty funky. I'm calling it "Lisbet's" on the page, because that's what it's called in the game, but there's obviously some weird script-fu going on. Aliana 02:03, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

- If it's being renamed from some other base statue (the fresh meat you can get from Lod acts the same way), try player.showinventory, then you'll see the base item and can use player.removeitem <ID> 1. You may need to dump most of your inventory in a container so you can see what you're looking for, unless there's a way to scroll or expand the console that I'm not aware of. Hope that works - I was able to remove the fresh meat that way (it shows up as a Mammoth Snout), but can't test that specific item right now. -Vardis 04:47, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

- Confirming Lisbet's Dibella Statue id is 0008F997. After reading the above tip, I emptied my entire inventory into an empty chest (in my owned house); then used console command player.showinventory. This gave the id for Lisbet's Dibella Statue. I then used console command "player.removeitem 0008F997 1", which removed it from my inventory. FYI - I wanted to put it on a table for decor, so I used player.additem to get a "generic" Dibella Statue and placed on my table. How pretty she looks! Maeve 19:24, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

unique items
I'm the one you were looking for above who moved valdr's lucky dagger, and there's plenty more i should've moved. So many of these blur the distinction made between unique and quest items. Things like the blade of sacrifice, the blade of woe, aegisbane, nettlebane, etc. are found or given during quests, yea, but are able to be kept afterwards, and would more be considered unique rewards. it seems that only things like darvin's bow, alessandra's dagger, grimsever, etc. should be quest items. someone hires you to find them, you turn them in, that's it. better yet, why not just combine them ALL into one "unique weapons" article, and provide better information for each of them? — Unsigned comment by 24.18.82.8 (talk) at 08:31 on January 4, 2012
- First off, thanks for making a start on getting this pig of a page sorted out. The good news is, there's a really really simple set of rules for "Is this a Quest Item or not?": can you drop it when you first pick it up? Yes? Not a Quest Item. (Blade of Sacrifice fails this test). And really, that's about it. Yes, they're also all weightless, but that means comparing Before and After carry weight, and the inventory shows you what they "really" weigh, so it's confusing and time-wasting at best. Someone else can explain better why there isn't just one "Unique Stuff" page, but since it would be as large and clunky as this one is, that seems like a good reason not to have it; and Quest Items aren't "just" Unique, they're "why do I have this stupid thing in my inventory that I've had for 10 levels and can't get rid of". :P Aliana 09:05, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- thanks for clearing that up, that does make sense. aegisbane and angi's bow fail these tests (droppable immediately), along with several others i'm sure, but oh well. there are two ES wikis out there. - We hope to change that. For example, why are the dragon claws here? Are they ever a quest item? I'll try and list specific things that need to be done (both by myself and others):
- Remove all items that are quest rewards (such as Muiri's Ring)
- Remove all items that are rare or unique but are not specifically quest-related (such as Vaermina Robes, Movarth's Boots, Firiniel's End, etc.)
- Remove all items that fail the basic "can I drop it when I get it" test (such as Nettlebane)
- These items should be moved to Unique Items or Artifacts, depending on whether or not they qualify for Artifact status. Also,
- Remove the Dragon Claws. They deserve their own page, complete with the list of what symbols are on the bottom.

enchanted ring
enchanted ring redirects here but it is listed on Unique Items, it seems to me that it should be listed on quest items though, as (from memory) there is 3 of them and they are all taken from you during the quest if you opt to find them. I fixed most the redirects (Rohndogg1) did some too. However I skipped the Party boots and clothes and the Saarthal amulet, because like with the enchanted rings, they are needed for a quest at one point. (Eddie The Head 08:39, 7 January 2012 (UTC))

- The enchanted rings are not quest items. you can drop them and sell them any time you want and you can continue the quest without picking them up or turning them in as long as you get the amulet.Fbasaint80 19:59, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Improper Redirects
There are many redirects to items that I suspect used to be here that aren't any longer. These include Firiniel's End and Ancient Helm of the Unburned. (I've corrected both of these already) I will be correcting any redirects that do not point to the correct location as I find them, but if anybody else notices something before I do, or already knows of any, feel free to correct them yourself, or post it here and I (or possibly someone else) will fix it.
I suppose this is mostly a heads up, but it gives us a place to list those for people who don't know how to, or just don't want to fix the redirects to note the mistakes. -Rohndogg1 08:41, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

- It probably doesn't. I moved as many items that I knew were unique items to Skyrim:Unique Items, however I know I didn't get them all. I went ahead and moved it. Point out any other weapons that are not quest items. ?• JATalk 06:29, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Quest books
The article mentions that weapon racks can be used as a work-around for looting quest item weapons before receiving the related quest by placing the weapon and then removing it. I was just wondering if the same can be done with bookshelves for books that are found before being given a quest to fetch them. 75.94.172.142 04:23, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

- The book "Chimarvamidium" gives the "quest item cannot be removed from inventory" when I try to store on bookshelf. I should note that at one time I had 2 "Chimarvamidium" books and able to store 1 of them. So far that is the only quest book that gives me that problem. Other quest books, such as "Mirror", I've been able to store on bookshelf or chests until given the quest. 74.214.63.191 18:10, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Emerald Dragon Claw: Bugged?
It seems like no matter which shelf I put the Emerald Dragon Claw on, it never stays there. All the other claws seem to stay put, but this one often glitches through the shelf onto the shelf below it, or falls on the floor. - That link directs you to where you can find it, but I thought I would explain that the reason the wolf armor isn't listed on this article because it's not actually a quest item. It's armor available through the Companions faction, but not directly related to any quests-- that's why it's in the 'Specialty Gear' section. Alphabetface 18:03, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Bad Redirect

- The redirect actually has been fixed, you're just not getting it. This is a known issue for anonymous users (see Caching for anons), and I've reported your issue there. Items that need to be confirmed
This article became a dumping grounds for any and every item that has a unique name. In the process of cleaning up this article, we ran into a bunch of items that with our personal experience we could not confirm actually are quest items. If you have any evidence that proves or disproves that any of these items are or aren't quest items, please post it here.

Remember that just because it has to do with a quest does not mean it's an actual quest item. It is an actual quest item if you cannot drop it immediately after getting it. Dragon Claws are an exception. ?• JATalk 06:35, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- I can confirm Balgruuf's greatsword -- see Greatsword for a Great Man. Karliah's bow seems to be a non playable item because at the end of a thieves guild quest she gives you "her bow" but it's just called Nightingale Bow and its a reward, not a quest item. Executioners hood and tortueres hoods would be non playable items and not quest items as well, or at least not found in-game. Prisoners cuffs would be what you and the other prisoners are wearing at the beggining of the game -- I would say they aren't playable or a quest item either though because you can see some Stormcloak prisoners wearing them but cant take them. Tsun's gear would be non playable and not a quest item. Ulfric is wearing "Ulfric's Gag" at the begining of the game, I would again say its non playable and not a quest item. Jagged Crown
After seeing the reversion back to the note indicating that it can be worn with a helmet, I just tested it, and it cannot be worn with another helmet. I'm not sure why 69.14.206.123 was reverted because of lack of evidence, since I would first assume good faith absent any personal knowledge contradicting what they are posting.
Anyway, I removed the entire note, since it appears to act like other helmets now, and we don't have such a note for all helmets. If it used to be bugged and allowed you to wear it with a helmet, but isn't now, I don't believe there's benefit mentioning that here. If that's not the policy, my apologies.
If it's still occasionally buggy, then perhaps the note should indicate that instead of saying that it's always one way or the other. Vardis 07:07, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

- If you wear it with a dragon priest mask and then equip a regular helmet while both are equiped, you will have the crown and the new helmet equiped at the same time. IMO looks cool equiped with daedric helmet. 69.251.52.20 15:35, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Ruby Dragon Claw
I've noticed this with other dragon claws , but the Ruby one is stuck in my inventory and refuses all attempts of being removed. I have cleared Dead Man's Respite, and I just finished the related Bard's quest, but still no luck. This also happened with the Glass Claw which at some point lost its quest item status and I was able to get rid of it. I didn't actually notice until I sold it, then bought it back and it worked fine after that. However the Ruby claw isn't showing up for sale...
Will I be running around with a half pound decorative dead weight in my inventory for the rest of my game?Chronic 03:46, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea why the claw is stuck in your inventory in the first place. Although they are listed on this page, not all of the dragon claws are true quest items (meaning that you can drop them and they have weight). I'm pretty sure that when I did this quest, it was not a quest item. I'm definitely sure that the Glass Claw wasn't a quest item at any point because I did the quest related to it last night. ?• JATalk 19:33, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- This might just be a problem plaguing my version. I'm unpatched currently, however after completing all of the Bard college's respective quests I could then remove the claw from my inventory.Chronic 07:59, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
(←) The "Tending the Flames" Bard quest needed both claws, the one marked "quest item" (Glass Claw, if memory serves) in inventory and the one found during quest(Ruby Claw), to open both doors for access to King Olaf battle. It has been a bit since I completed the quest and my memory may be a bit off; however, I do recall thinking, "That's why I couldn't store it, I needed it again for this door" - and sure enough I could store or sell as soon as quest was done. Rjorn's Drum is not identical to drum

- The record that help is listing is a MESG record, not an item record. That MESG record exists as a way that the game uses to rename a standard Drum into Rjorn's Drum, but is of no use to a player playing the game.
- Try for yourself in the console by typing
player.additem dd640 1
orplayer.placeatme dd640
. They will both fail, because the code you're providing is not an item code. Alternatively, if you have Rjorn's Drum in your inventory,player.removeitem dd640 1
will have no effect.player.removeitem daba9 1

Coral Dragon Claw Duplicate?

- Maybe I should clarify. I was unable to disenchant the Ring of Pure Mixtures until after I completed it's quest. I was then able to pickpocket it from Frida and disenchant it.
