Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Talk to Beldros Rethelius outside the Hlan Oek temple about guided tour.
  2. Persuade Beldros that you'd be a suitable tour guide by:
    • Being a member of the Tribunal Temple.
    • Having 65+ disposition.
    • Having 10+ Reputation.
  3. Meet the couple inside the temple and answer Beldros' question.
  4. Meet the two on Veloth's Path, by the mural north of Hlan Oek, and answer the questions.
  5. Rendezvous with Beldros and Lysenia at the ruins north of Idathren, and answer two further questions.
  6. Speak to Lysenia Rethelius for your payment.

The Rethelius' Dream TourEdit

The game uses two variables to track your answers, assigning points for informative answers and for entertaining answers. To get the amulet and maximum gold, you will need 3 points against the information variable (in this article represented as INF), and 3 against the entertainment variable (ENT). Outright incorrect or political answers score no points. To reach INT 3 and ENT 3, give two entirely accurate informative answers and two technically true but entertaining ones for the first four questions. Then reassure Beldros on his fifth question without taking a side.

The full break down is below:

Question 1

"I've seen pits like this in several locations now, including out in the open air, along Veloth's Path. This way of interring the dead is quite peculiar, at least to my Cyrodiilic sensibilities. Forgive me, I don't mean to be insensitive. I'll let you speak. Why do the people of Morrowind treat their dead this way?"

"Some remains are kept here to continue the tradition of family shrines, but most are sent on to Necrom now." (INF + 1)

"They are a reminder that the ancestors are still there, no matter how long ago they passed away." (ENT + 1)

"These are just storage pits. Craftsmer make all that bonemold armor out of them." (no points)

Question 2

"I'd like to ask you a question about this apparatus here, first. The one making that... noise. I've encountered a few of them on our pilgrimage so far. Gourd harps, I believe they're called. What purpose do they serve? Why do they constantly ring like that?"

"They attract restless spirits, so they can find their way to Necrom." (INF + 1)

"They are beacons along Veloth's Path, guiding both the dead and the living." (ENT +1)

"The whine keeps away Yeth-Grubs." (no points)

Question 3

"Now, the mural. I believe there was a similar one at the temple in Hlan Oek. It seems to signify something in the Tribunal faith. What does it mean?"

"It shows the prophet Veloth leading the Chimer to Morrowind." (INF + 1)

"It commemorates a story of great perseverance and purpose." (ENT +1)

"It shows Almalexia leading the Dwarves to Morrowind." (no points)

Question 4

"...According to the stories I've heard, the river was controlled by House Indoril back then. But Hlan Oek, and Idathren to the south, both fly the banner of House Hlaalu. What happened?"

"Following the signing of the Armistice, House Indoril was pushed from the western bank by Hlaalu expansion." (INF + 1)

"Borders and spheres of influences always move. New gets built on top of old." (ENT +1)

"Actually, this was built by the dreugh. The land dreugh." (no points)

Question 5

"...one of the cruder fellows on the Hlan Oek waterfront told me that there was trouble brewing on the Thirr River. A House War between Hlaalu and Indoril, he said. While I understand that this is not the same as the great wars of the past, I am a little worried for our safety. I'd hate to cut our trip short, if there's really nothing to worry about. Do you have any insight into the conflict?"

"Visitors like you don't have to worry. Cooler heads will prevail." (INF +1 and ENT +1)

"House Indoril will drive the godless Hlaalu from the river and reclaim their rightful land." (no points)

"The Indoril are backwards fools. If anything, this conflict will only hasten their decline." (no points)

"The Dunmer of Morrowind are a cruel, violent people. They will always tear each other apart." (no points)
