Vermilius Vendicci is an Imperial Noble and the owner of Vendicci Manor in Andothren. The Vendiccis are a family offshoot of the wealthy Vicis, and Vermilius is one of two notable members in Morrowind (the other being his oft-robbed sister, Merxia Vendicci.
An avid collector of armaments, he boasts of what he believes to be the largest assemblage in the province, considering quantity to have a quality all of its own. The quest, Thoricles' Bane involves a delivery of the likely stolen axe of the same name to add to this collection.
A not altogether intelligent, if powerful man, Vermilius is generally held in contempt by those in his household, including even his bodyguard, Apisphagus Thryx, and valet, Vals Varano. As his former courtesan, Dervara Diron, puts it: "I don't think he's ever been told 'no' in his life before. He should experience it at least once." He therefore takes Dervara's refusal to return his love letters badly, construing it as intent to blackmail, and your intervention can protect Dervara from harm (or ensure her death). The letters themselves can either be returned to his possession, or passed on to Apisphagus, ready for the attention of his Cyrod wife.
Vermilius will ultimately leave the city for Cyrodiil during Andothren Regained, having never realised that his capable servant, Vals, was in truth the strongman of the Camonna Tong. His carriage may be intercepted on the road, and whether Vermilius makes it over the border to a potentially furious wife and ruined reputation depends upon you and your choices.
