Daggerfall categoryEdit

I'll be updating and contributing to pretty much everything in the Daggerfall category over the next few months, and while I do have some sort of order planned, targets of opportunity will be addressed. For example: If while editing the Items section I realize there is something relavent to the Lycanthropy section, then I'll go ahead and add that rather than sit on it.

I don't as yet have any specific plans for the Items→Artifacts because I'ven't really investigated those sections, but I am aware they are in dreadful condition. I now have a plan, but that will just have to wait for a while. I'm still working on entering the faction data.

I plan on uploading any images which are necessary, and I will endevour to make certain they are properly attributed to BethSoft as an esimage under the Fair Use terms of United States Copyright Law. If I omit a license detail, you can be assured any omission was accidental and would most likely require esimage.

The list goes on… ⌈Uniblab 01:30, 12 January 2007 (EST)⌋

Docofall (the Daggerfall Documentation Project)Edit

Part of my current work requires me to fix-up and make uniform the faction information which appears in Daggerfall. I have written a few macros, and made them all game-aware, hoping this modular usage will encourage reusability. Once the factions are documented I can move on to the Reputation system in Daggerfall, and from there I can finally finish all the Character Generation, Lycanthropy, Vampirism, and game introduction sections. After that I can focus as my previous list indicates. ⌈Uniblab 05:35, 5 January 2007 (EST)⌋

Hello, if you sometime soon get back, I've been working on the Daggerfall pages. I've added some tables to "Enchanting Items" and I have completely formatted all the of Daggerfall main quest to match with Oblivion and Morrowind. Sometime in the next month or so, I will rewrite all of the Quest Walkthroughs. Get back quickly! I'd sure like some help. --Timmeh 22:57, 27 November 2007 (EST)

Errr.. Thanks! Yeah, there's more than enough Docofall work to go around. I'm not sure how helpful I can be at this time, but since I see (by the editing logs) you're setting an example for me to follow, then I guess I should give this some extra effort. Yes, the item enchantment is a real mess (thanks for the tables!), and the spell maker still hasn't been reverse-engineered, etc, etc. Since it looks like I'm the junior team member now, where would you like me to start? Uniblab 17:24, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
If possible, I'd like to return to The Complete Map Of All Faction Relationships and creating their associated article stubs. My research of the Daggerfall factions database is fairly exhaustive (there are still two fields which baffle me, but I think I have a handle on one of them). Since I have them mapped out, I might as well perform the (very, very tedious and mind-numbing) chore of creating the article stubs (with geographic cross-references/cross-links in the Tamreiel category). Since you are aware there are several joinable factions, a few of these stubs would contain useful data (benfits of membership, as I did with the Temples and Knightly Orders and such). This might be a pipe-dream, but since the maps.bsa and blocks.bsa formats are well-understood and well-described, I'd like to include with each faction article a table of locations where they may be found (hyperlinks to the geographic database in the Tamriel category). I'm not interested (at this time) of actually populating those links (so the majority would be coloured "red"), but what can I say? I'm a perfectionist. Uniblab 17:24, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

User PageEdit

I removed a few things from your user page, since they were offending people. I hope you don't mind. The discussion about the removal is Here, and if you want to talk about it more, feel free to drop me a line either here, my talk page, or IRC (or anything else). The only reason I removed them was because I didn't think you wished to offend anyone, and since that became an issue, I took care of it. I hope this isn't a problem for you. --Ratwar 14:13, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

No troubles, rattie-me-boy-o. I'm not here to irritate and antagonize the Teaming Millings. I'm glad there are people here who really care. So what was it? Using Teen Beat as a reference? :P Uniblab 17:09, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
Jews causing all wars and Micheal Jacksons Micro laser cock... Ahh, the hilarious memories...--Ratwar 17:40, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
Wow. I Finally read the discussion. Hillarious. I especially like the part about being called "rascist" because I refuse to believe the Jews are responsible for all wars w/o proof. That makes as much sense as calling a KKK lynching mob a "rainbow patrol". It's a damn funny read. I really appreciate all the drama you admins must stomach. Thanks for the laughs. --Uniblab 08:47, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

wow.. I'm back!Edit

et al:

I'm back... sort of. Sorry for the delay. I'm not in a position to do much content generation. At best, all I have time for is to correct the odd spelling error here and there.

I'm glad to finally return! I'm hoping neph and dylnuge hanve't forgotten me (since they were the only two people with whom I've had any real contact, other than DH).

I'm currently very busy with some private research. As some of you know, I've made a good living by writing compilers. The business rules of any firm are often received in "plain english" (or french, or whatever). If business rules can be expressed in BNF/ABNF or standard Relation Mathematics Notation, then one can write a compiler for those rules, which means the applications programmers now have at least 50% of their work reduced, because they no longer have to worry about business rules when writing their forms and web pages, and when the business rules change over time, only the libraries and databases need to be upgraded, not the end user applications and web pages. Brilliant stuff really. The answer to the question "What does this have to do with Daggerfall?" is pretty simple. I have created a model of the Daggerfall quest subsystem by treating the .QRC and QBN files as "source code" files (like .cs or .pl and so on) and compiling them into .Net assemblies (.dll files which are loaded and unloaded as necessary). This is all very nice and good (I don't have a game, nor is my intent to make a game), but I'm curious if modelling the Daggerfall Quest subsystem in Windows Workflow Framework (WWF) would be efficient and easier to maintain since now one could just stuff the string and state tables in a database, leaving the code to the WWF. So that is my current avenue of research. Eh-yup, this is what I do for fun.

So... how's tricks? Uniblab 17:07, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

Welcome back! It's good to see so many editors returning! --GuildKnightTalk2me 17:13, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
Hi uniblab :) Welcome back! Dylnuge hasn't been active in a while, but I'm still here....
Looks like you've caught up on some of work that's been done to the Daggerfall pages... most recently James Wildspell has done a lot of work on the magic/spell/enchanting pages, among other things. Also, the wiki overall has evolved a fair bit over the last year and a half, so there may be a few new things to get used to. As Lurlock mentioned, we've moved around a fair number of your previous contributions, to an organization that's more consistent with the rest of the site. If some of the changes are confusing, feel free to ask :) Have fun getting back into the wiki! --NepheleTalk 15:19, 5 May 2008 (EDT)
Many thanks! I'm really digging what the others have done in my absence. I hope I don't make a mess of things. I'm trying to stay within the "Daggerfall" namespace where possible, but some things have required I venture outwards (Tamriel:placeName for example). My plan on the Factions database is really simple: start at the beginning of the file and go downwards until I hit the end. Yes, there are almost 1,000 distinct factions within Daggerfall, but I don't really need to include them all; only a few hundred actually have any impact on the player. After that I've some new material to add to the Quest Subsystem documentation (and I suspect I'll be assisting the others with data on documenting the individual quests). Then I guess I should look at the The Daggerfall Item Database. Since the Quest Subsystem and the Biography Subsystem both uses the same database, Daggerfall Item Database could really use some clean-up. I don't know where to go after that, but I'm sure there's more than enough work around here for everyone. If I get bored, I could always upload map images of the provinces, or automap images for each city (I'm kidding!). Uniblab 16:00, 5 May 2008 (EDT)

At the moment...Edit

I'm debating my options with the Provincial/City data. Someone has already made a nice "Tamriel:Sentinel" article; unfortunately it is a merge/mish-mash of both the province and the city (her provincial seat). I'll need to go through each and every linking/including page to ensure I don't screw the whole mess up even more. I'm also thinking very carefully about the articles for both the Province and City of Daggerfall. Many places are refering to "Tamriel:Daggerfall" (which suffers the above condition), but this is even worse because I can't just blindly use the NAMESPACE macro here; Daggerfall:Daggerfall is about the game itself (like Arena:Arena), and so there is an even greater need for care and attention. I believe I'm going to revector to "Tamriel:Daggerfall (province)" and "Tamriel:Daggerfall (city)", which will thus allow for "User talk:Daggerfall (province)" and "User talk:Daggerfall (city)", but it is going to be a real drag to check each and every linking/including page. Blargh! --Uniblab 00:03, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

In the meantime I've been updating the Daggerfall Quest Subsystem information with some of my research. The Daggerfall Quest Subsystem is a rather ingenious Virtual Machine (in the same sense as the Java Virtual Machine, or the .Net MSIL JIT). I have made two models so far. One is more on par with the JVM. I create an array of function pointers, and use the QBN's OpCode as the index. The second model was more in the spirit of .Net, where I treated the QBN as "source code". Thusly I created a comiler which translated QBN file OpCodes into .Net MSIL instructions which yielded .Net assemblies (.dll files). Naturally this second approach performed better since I could "ngen" the resultant assemblies. I'm currently looking at ways of modelling the Daggerfall Quest Subsystem in WWF (Windows WorkFlow). A hybrid of the second and this third approach will most likely prove the most logically pure and easiest to maintain, and still retain excellent performance. Again, my goal is not to make a Daggerfall clone; I make compilers, interpreters, and VM's simply because 1) it is my pleasure to do so, and 2) these researches make me better at my job (I get paid to write compilers, interpreteres, and VM's). Any practice is good practice. --Uniblab 00:03, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

At any rate, soon I'll have the necessary energy to return to completing the vampire faction documentation (which requires provincial stubs, which require provincial seat stubs)... unless the barmaid serves me another shot (life is good when there is internet at the bar). --Uniblab 00:03, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

I'm going to bed now. I know what must be done for the Sentinel and Daggerfall provinces and cities. Don't worry, I won't screw it all up. --Uniblab 08:40, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

User PageEdit

Hi Uniblab, Pardon me if im poking my nose in where it doesnt belong, but looking at your user page all i see is nonsense and obscenities. I know you are an experienced editor and have been granted the rank of patroller (something I myself have yet to acheive) but even so, I personally find this to be even worse than an incident a while ago, perhaps you could consider removing some of the more obscene words? --Volanaro 09:09, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

Like I said to our man Ratwar, I'm not interested in antagnoizing anyone here. I'm quite glad there are people like you and he who take an interest in maintaining an equitable forum for all. I'm certainly not upset a few of the banners were removed, and given the level of controversey surrounding that incident I cannot see any alternative; the banners simply needed to be removed because misguided emotion dominated in a situation where reason should have governed. To be frank, if I were "in charge" I would have (with much regret) followed an identical course of action. At any rate, given the severity of the controversey then I would be wise to never raise the subject, nor even respond to the subject, again; doing so would only inflame a situation whose time has passed into the ancient days of Archive. Thank you for showing an interest, though. You set a fine example of demonstrating we here on the wiki should all be friendly and respectful of eachother, which is a standard I too hope to follow. --Uniblab 22:45, 11 May 2008 (EDT)
With regards to "experienced editor", honesty demands I refute that compliment. I have typed up a bunch of stuff, but I am not an "experienced editor" in the wiki sense because I am still learning the ways and means of wiki. Many situations, which may seem trivial to you, often baffle me. When should I include and when should I link? What is this irrational phobia of the "/" about, when wiki regards all characters the same no matter what glyph is displayed (an "x" is just as good as a "-")? Can I treat wiki as a database, and thus put static content in an orphaned page such as "foo/bar/baz" and then include it bodily in the relavent pages, or should I duplicate the tables and text in each relavent page (and thus discard concepts such as "data integrity")? The good people of this wiki (who are too numerous to mention; each knows himself for who he is by the examples of their actions) have been very eager to help me become acclimated to the "wiki" way of doing things; The Dao of Wiki, so to speak; but I must decline your generous compliment. I'm actually a bozo when it comes to "the wiki way". Fortunately there are many who are taking a real and concrete effort at educating me. You should look at the histories of my contributions for some of my blunders if you want a good laugh ;) --Uniblab 22:45, 11 May 2008 (EDT)
What I consider to be an experienced editor is when someone reaches the 1000 edit mark, you passed this ages ago, also you are a recent changes patroller so you've obiously done something right. I try to avoid criticising people on the wiki, I was just concerned about your page being a bit, innapropriate. --Volanaro 07:31, 12 May 2008 (EDT)

big happy fun timeEdit

I just passed the the ½-way point in documenting the Vampire faction cartel shares (the provinces in which they operate by mutual agreement). I'll eventually need to link up their quests (including the "cure"), but I'd rather go wide on this, as I previously indicated. With the addition of these province stubs, I'll be ready to tackle the Knightly Orders. Each region within Daggerfall had her own "Knights of the Realm". Since I'm trying to get the factions thoroughly documented, I'll need these region stubs in place for both the bloodlines as well as the knights. Of course these region stubs will also prove useful in the other areas as well. In which provinces can a Temple of Kynareth be found? Well, faster than you can say "sea sharp" I can get wonderful information. I can get, for each temple order, the list of regions in which she has 51% or more "market share", and the list of regions where she has at least one temple. In just a few keystrokes I'd be ready to update the temple order pages with regional information. Let us also not forget these region stubs will be necessary for documenting the "political" factions as well. Did you know Betony is subordinate to Daggerfall? Eh-yep, oodles of tid-bits are just waiting to be recorded, most of which depend on these region stubs. --Uniblab 19:46, 13 May 2008 (EDT)

EmailEdit

I noticed your message on Volanaro's talk page, and thought I'd chime in to say that the email problem is with your account setup, not with Volanaro's. In other words, I can pull up the email user screen for Volanaro, but not for you. The most likely reason is that your email address has not been authenticated (perhaps because you changed your email address since first setting up the account). You can check by looking at your preferences screen and seeing whether there's a blurb similar to "Your e-mail address was authenticated on 11:26, 21 July 2006" in the email section. If not, you need to send yourself an authentication email and click on that email's link. Another possible cause is that you don't have the "Enable e-mail from other users" checkbox selected (although I don't think that would be responsible for you being unable to send other users email... but I could be wrong!) Hopefully this info will help you track down the problem :) --NepheleTalk 23:42, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Yes, I assumed it was a trouble with mine, but the value presented in my preferences page looked correct. So perhaps I need to authenticate it? No troubles then. Thanks for looking out for me. --Uniblab 23:54, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

NAMESPACE linksEdit

Hi Uniblab,

The problem with forcing links to aim at the NAMESPACE the page is in is this: If the page is transcluded into another NAMESPACE, then the link will aim at that NAMESPACE, which sometimes doesn't exist. An example: this link works, but this one doesn't. That particular example was taken from here. Another thing is, that if you want to aim a link at its own NAMESPACE, you can simply type this, which right now will aim at the User_talk NAMESPACE. Thanks. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 07:24, 24 May 2008 (EDT)

I see a few skipped past me. I thought I was checking all the "What Links Here" to ensure there weren't any "red links". Dangit. Thanks for spotting a few. I'll go through my history and check again for borked links in the major namespaces (If I had done things right the first time I wouldn't be in this predicament now). I hope it is at least to my credit I only used the NAMESPACE macro outside the <noinclude>…</noinclude> area (the first paragraph for most regions/provinces/locations). Our men Rpeh and TRL are also on the "job" today, so it looks like I'm eating a lot of crow today. But, anyhoo… Thanks for keeping an eye on me. I'd rather have a red face than a red link. --Uniblab 10:27, 24 May 2008 (EDT)

Transclusions for provincesEdit

I changed the transcludes you created in the Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion namespaces for the provinces to redirects instead. If there's nothing new to add to a transcluded Tamriel article that's specific to the game itself, it should just redirect to the original article. There's no reason to create a page which has nothing but a transclude on it and no game-specific information. Only locations relevant to the game should really need to have articles in their own namespace. The only one I left alone was the [[Daggerfall:Cyrodiil]] article, because I wasn't quite sure where you were going with that, but I think ultimately, it should probably just be a redirect as well, since you never visit Cyrodiil in the game of Daggerfall. --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:15, 24 May 2008 (EDT)

And I'm going through proposing them for deletion. You may like to look at the Lore Link template for a better way to do this kind of thing. –RpehTCE 09:17, 24 May 2008 (EDT)
In fact I'm going to have to Speedy Delete them. –RpehTCE 09:25, 24 May 2008 (EDT)
I love you guys. I did contemplate using a #REDIRECT for "Morrowind:foo" and "Oblivion:foo". There are obvious advantages to a redirect, and in hindsight I see now the choice for a redirect should have been obvious. I'm sorry that caused quite a bit of work for you. The above operations look like three actions per page, and there are seven or eight pages… carry the irrational root of π… Darnitol! Sorry. --Uniblab 10:22, 24 May 2008 (EDT)
I forgot to mention I created the "Daggerfall:foo" stubbage for racial data inclusion, and Daggerfall User Manual quoting (yes, I still have mine). But, I see now I shouldn't create a stub unless and until I'm ready to enter at least some data right then and there. --Uniblab 10:34, 24 May 2008 (EDT)

The Barman is kicking me out…Edit

…so I'll be going home now. --Uniblab 23:48, 25 May 2008 (EDT)

Actually, it can be done, but only by Daveh. You could ask on his talk page, but he's not around that often, so he might not get to it for a while. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:05, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

SWEET MOTHER OF (something NSFW)!Edit

Since accepting my new job ("new" as in "I accepted it a very long time ago"), I've been busier than a one-legged man at a... well... a contest which favours those who have more than one leg. While I am ever amazed at the incompetence at those who (proudly) declare "I am a compootar programmer!" (with the same intonation and enthusiasm as the big one from Cartoon Network's "Ed, Edd, and Eddy"), I've lately seen stupidity reach new lows. This, of course, has given me time for my hobbies (I will be publishing another logistics paper related to the following paragraph).

Current work? I'ven't been able to take a break from writing compilers (yes, I get paid to create compilers in C# so morons can simply enter business rules in plain english), but I've also taken a challenge by daveh. The challenge? Adding roads to Daggerfall. The logistics puzzle took only 15 minutes to solve (using lambda calculus) and yet I only just now (36 hours total development time) managed to write the C# solution (amazing how that works, yes? Now you know why I write compilers instead of programs for a living).

I hope (once I've been able to do some serious head-bashing at work) to come back here more reliably. Sorry for my absence, but duty calls. Uniblab 05:42, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Cool...would love to see this! -- Daveh 20:42, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Before offering my idea, I want to clean up the BSA doco so people can follow my work. At a minimum, one only needs to read the MAPS.BSA file for the overland roads, but if one were interested in actually rendering roads then one will needs to read BLOCKS and ARCH3D too. Adding believable roads is possible, but adding rivers or streams is something I've only given passing thought, and while they could be added I doubt they would be believable due to some constraints this space is not large enough to cover. Of course, only contributing when I'm not working rather makes my work come and go in spurts. --Uniblab 20:55, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

as usual...Edit

... I'm programming at the bar again.

I know I still need to upload my proposal for road generation in Daggerfall, but at the moment I'm completely reprogramming my DFDBS (Daggerfall Database Server). There are two content patches I want to release (correcting some automap glitches for Rose Knight strongholds not showing up as Blue, but Grey instead) and so I thought this was the perfect time to redo my gizmos.

Another thing I'd like to release is a DFDB defragmenter. Since it would be preferable if the most used records were at the start of the BSA file and no "empty" space existed then I have decided to write up a patch. This also means it is a perfect time to complete my gizmos since it will also prove quite fun to re-order records within the BSA files. This should simply be a matter of reading maps.bsa to compute statistics of blocks.bsa, and then read blocks.bsa to compute statistics of arch.bsa. Yay, fun.

While I'm here I'm also noticing a few typos I made on some of the revamp work I've done. For example: I described an Int8[ 6 ] as occupying 7 bytes! Silly, silly. Uniblab 01:33, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Coimplicational?Edit

I'd fix the typo at Daggerfall:MAPS.BSA#Location_GPS_Record_(MapTable) but I have no idea what you were aiming for (complicit? complicated?). Unless you were trying to invent a new word.... -- Daveh 20:42, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I'll look over it and see what I thought I originally meant. --Uniblab 20:44, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
It is a math term. It comes from "co"+"implicate". If you can think of a better term, I'm all for it. --Uniblab 20:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Your userpageEdit

ToolsEdit

Someone recently asked which tools I use to hack Daggerfall. First and formost would be the existing documentation in the hacking guide. Secondly, I rely on the intrinsic debug program. "Softice" is a very nice program, but I've yet to actually need it for my efforts. notepad (or pico) and csc combine as the third tool on which I rely. After dumping and/or tracing various files in the debugger, I form a hypothesis and then write a program in C# to test it. --Uniblab 23:55, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

After my research is complete, I do make use of another tool: "Visual Studio" from Microsoft is where I make my real programs. I could easily go with "Glade" or "Emacs", but at present "Visual Studio" is sufficient. --Uniblab 23:55, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

orphaned articlesEdit

I know I created two orphaned articles. I'm on top of things. --Uniblab 21:48, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm still on top of things. --Uniblab 19:24, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Quick noteEdit

Make sure you don't mark edits to talk pages that ask questions as patrolled, since it will be easier for other patrollers and admins to see the questions. Thanks ;) –Elliot talk 08:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Awesome!Edit

You have been given a gold star!

Those BSA images for Daggerfall are just amazing! Keep up the good work! –Elliot talk 23:34, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Lore ArticlesEdit

The new Lore articles you're adding are great and really help to flesh out the Lore space, but the sentence "See full Lore article here" isn't necessary because the first line should include a link. Including that phrase kind of breaks the immersion. –rpeh TCE 02:16, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

The first word/phrase of each sentence includes a Lore Link, which is why the "see full" is included - it just helps out with Daggerfall or Oblivion or Foo namespaces w/o relying on complex #if…#else stuff (since the first word/phrase will appear bold in some namespaces, rather than as a hyperlink). If you would like to write such complex I'm game, and if you have a nice suggestion for me to do so myself I'm also game. I'd like to do it the Right Way. --Uniblab 02:21, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Apologies - it seems it's not as easy as I thought. It seems we need a new template along the lines of {{ImageForNamespace}} but working for text. I'll think about it over night. –rpeh TCE 02:41, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
With help from rpeh, I have been able to fix up the click here to learn more with a rather crude (but nifty) hack. While it might be the very same hack I wished to avoid, I think it looks good. --Uniblab 04:19, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

POLITIC.PAK & BIOG00T0.txt Fix in DaggerfallSetupEdit

Hello, I am working on a setup for Daggerfall. This setup is done for install a ready to use Daggerfall easily on modern Windows Systems with the help of the DOS-emulator DOSBox (Like GOG Setup). I include of course all official stuff (Patch 2.13, CompUSA, Fixsave), but I also include unofficial bugs fix and quest. Can I include POLITIC.PAK & BIOG00T0.txt Fix ? Thanks in advance and thanks for your work.--Ancestral Ghost 18:40, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

This is a great idea. I think you should. I also suggest you visit DFQFIX for the latest and greatest in quest patches. --Uniblab 01:41, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
To celebrate your release, I have corrected another bug within POLITIC.PAK. Happy distributing. --Uniblab 02:46, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I will add your fixes to this Setup. :)
I am waiting for the answer of PLRDLF who work on DFQFIX.--Ancestral Ghost 05:00, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Blocks BSA imagesEdit

Hi,

What software do you use to get the blocks BSA images? eg DF-BLOCKS.BSA-MARKBL01.RMB.png in the Daggerfall:Shopping_Plaza article.

Thanks! :) DelphiSnake 14:38, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

I wrote my own program. After getting a handle on the file structures, I wrote a set of classes to enumerate the data I wanted, and then cast said data as bitmaps, and then saved them in Png format. All code was in C# 2.0, .Net 2.0 FCL. --Uniblab 02:30, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Off and OnEdit

I may or may not be on or off, as my life permits. There are many things left unfinished within the Daggerfall reverse-engineering which I want to complete. Some mysteries are solved but undocumented (books have been thoroughly understood for a long while, but I never updated the books pages with the correct information, for example), and some remain mysteries (I still haven't decoded Daggerfall's font files, and there are still 5 opcodes in the quest subsystem I'ven't researched). All, some, or none of this may or may not change in the near, intermediate, long, or indefinite future. Uniblab 14:55, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

I hope to see you back. IRC isn't the same without you! elliot (talk) 02:51, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Hi. I have posted up some work Donald Tipton did on the quest system on my site, Daggerfall Tool Repository. I'm interested in any reversing/hacking info you have and would really like a copy of the blocks.bsa tool we discussed above^. I'd like to help out with reversing / documenting formats. -- DelphiSnake 15:14, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
Nice to hear from you. When I have the time I will be most eager to look into Mr. Tipton's work, and any you might offer as well. Uniblab 04:22, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

STUPID VAEdit

Just a complaint today. I have a serious medical trouble which I need resolved immediately, and I must be a fool for thinking the VA is going to cover this any time within the next year or so. I cannot understand the kooks and crackpots of the world, who think there is some sort of cabal within the government which is capable of controlling almost every aspect of the world and our lives. These are the same government people who screwed up your passport, lost your driver's license renewal form, put you on hold in mid-conversation for lunch-break. They have been sitting on my medical paperwork for over a month; paperwork which shouldn't take more than 7 days to process. I find it hard to believe "Big Brother" is "watching", given that it seems self-evident "Big Brother" couldn't find his own ass with both hands a map. Secretly control almost every aspect of the world at large and your life in specific? He couldn't pour piss out of a boot even if instructions were printed on the heel. --Uniblab 17:16, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

It is 2019 and the VA is still stupid. --Uniblab (talk) 08:35, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Daggerfall ground planeEdit

The ground plane is constructed from a Voronoi tessellation. The sub-polygon centroids are computed from the "noise" data, and the actual coordinates of sub-plane of the viewable area of the character. The partition is always a ``fall (negative distance) from the base altitude of the ground plane. It is magnified multiplicatively by the "roughness" of the overland pixel.
