- Find out that Auriel is missing three volumes from the series.
- Talk to Auriel about it, and agree to recover them for her.
- Talk to Lys Koch about the books.
- Talk to Orvil to find out where Lys went.
- Visit Kassandra in Bruma and Marc Hanse in Leyawiin.
- Return all the volumes to Auriel and collect your reward.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
This quest starts in Auriel's Books. To get it, you have to approach the bookcase at the back of the shop, almost behind the counter. You'll get the first journal entry. Talk to Auriel, and she'll tell you that she lent them to Lys Koch, a mage who's currently residing in the Converted Checkpoint Apartments.
When you talk to Lys, he'll tell you that one of the books is in his apartment and will give you the key. He doesn't know where the others are and can't be bothered to figure it out - he'll refer you to his apprentice, Orvil. The boy is a bit more helpful; he'll tell you that he and Lys traveled to Bruma and Leyawiin to visit Kassandra and Marc Hanse, respectively.
Look for the book on the desk.
Recovering the other two volumes is simply a matter of travelling to Bruma and Leyawiin and talking to the people in question. They'll be happy to turn the books over to you.
Once you've gotten all three books, return to Auriel. She'll thank you for your work and give you a copy of Before the Ages of Man, a rare Mysticism skill book.

- Notes
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage BANICMarketAurielBookQuest stage, wherestageis the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
