Lord Kildred is a High Elf noble from Summerset Isle who has come to Cyrodiil with his wife, Lady Trivelda, and their hosts Duke Agrivaine and Duchess Giselle on the duke's ship, The Gilded Duckling, to tour various cities. Currently, they are moored in the Bravil Docks. Unbeknownst to anyone else (except his wife, who has suspicions - see Strange Bedfellows), he's having an affair with another woman, Captain Saxa.
Since he's on vacation, Lord Kildred stays up late and sleeps in. He wakes at 9am and goes out to the docks to wander around. He sits down for a late breakfast/luncheon at 11am with his wife for another two hours, then returns to the docks to take in the sights for a few hours. On Morndas, Middas, and Fredas, he'll cut his sightseeing short to go to the Bravil Bayside Inn to spend time with his lover. If he's not with Saxa, he'll sit down to dinner with his wife and friends at 6pm for three hours; otherwise, he doesn't return to the ship until 9pm. In either case, he'll sit down to play cards for another four hours until 2am, then retires to bed with his wife.
He wears a dark velvet outfit and blue suede shoes; he has keys to the ship and Saxa's room at the Bayside Inn, and some crab meat.
When you first meet him, Lord Kildred expresses great cheer: "Hello there! Isn't this a glorious day?" He is willing to answer questions about:
- The captain: "I don't know. Some fellow we left behind in Shimerene!"
- Shimerene: "It's a city on Summerset Isle, where we Altmer reside. It's a magical place! My wife is from Shimerene, as is Agrivaine. I come from Firsthold myself."
- The ship: "This is the Gilded Duckling! It belongs to Agrivaine, the Duke. He's a friend of my wife's, you know! It's not his nicest of ships, being of Imperial design, but it's sturdy enough. I think he said something about his cousin taking his favourite ship."
- The duke: "Agrivaine? Of course, why would you be asking me about any other Duke? A fine fellow, most certainly. So good of him to invite us on this voyage with him. We're visiting a few port cities around Cyrodiil, and may go on to some more around Elsweyr on the journey home."
- Bravil: "A most interesting city. It's a little run-down, but I hear that much of Cyrodiil is like that these days. The people are just fascinating you know?"
- Lady Trivelda: "Hmm. Yes, well. She's not the easiest of people to get along with. If you get on her bad side she can be most unpleasant! Still, she can be quite a joy to speak with sometimes."
NotesEdit
After completing the quest Strange Bedfellows, if The Gilded Duckling has sailed away from Bravil, Lord Kildred will move into Captain Saxa's room in the Bayside Inn.
When you speak with Lord Kildred after he has moved in with Captain Saxa, he is only slightly less cheerful: "Hello there, isn't it a pleasant day?" He will talk about:
- The ship: "They left me here! After my wife found out about Saxa and myself, she persuaded Agrivaine to return home to Summerset Isle. She never did have much trouble getting her own way with Agrivaine, so I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised."
- Staying with Saxa: "Yes. Yes, I think I will. She is much easier to get along with than my wife, and it wouldn't be easy to return home now anyway, I have no money!"

If Kildred decides to stay with Captain Saxa, he'll take up residence in the Bayside Inn. He'll wake up at 8am, eat breakfast for two hours, and spend most days hanging around the Bravil Castle courtyard. On Morndas at 3pm, he goes down to the beach to stand and gaze out at the horizon, perhaps longing for his farway home. At 8pm, he goes to Silverhome on the Water for dinner, then returns to his room at 10pm to go to bed.
