Elemental Daedra, commonly known as Atronachs, are highly intelligent daedra composed of various elements. They inhabit many planes of Oblivion, including their home realms which are also elemental in nature, and are often summoned by conjurers.[1][2] The art of conjuring Atronachs is known as Atromancy,[3] and those who practice it are called Atromancers.[4][5]
Elemental Daedra have no kinship or loyalties with any of the Daedric Princes, although the Frost Daedra are known to have served Xivilai Moath, as have the Fire Daedra served Faydra Shardai. Frost Daedra and Fire Daedra have a deep mutual hatred for one another, but were forced to work together to claim the Shade Perilous for Mehrunes Dagon during the invasion of the Battlespire.[6] A more powerful version of the Atronach is the Monarch.[7][8]
There are several varieties of Elemental Daedra, including:
- Air Atronach, Air Monarch
- Crystal Atronach, Glass Atronach, Glass Fragment
- Fire Daedra
- Flame Atronach, Fire Atronach, Potent Flame Atronach, Flame Pixie, Flame Thrall, Fire Behemoth
- Frost Atronach, Ice Atronach, Dire Frost Atronach, Potent Frost Atronach, Frost Thrall, Ancient Frost Atronach, Frost Monarch, Water Atronach
- Frost Daedra
- Iron Atronach, Earth Atronach
- Shadow Atronach
- Stone Atronach, Foundation Stone Atronach
- Storm Atronach, Potent Storm Atronach, Storm Thrall

Banished Atronachs are often harvested for the magical materials they leave behind. Fire Salts, Frost Salts, and Void Salts are taken from Flame, Frost, and Storm Atronachs respectively, and are useful ingredients for alchemists.[9] Atronite is a type of crystal that is rarely left behind by only the most powerful of Atronachs.[10]
