Oblivion talk:Redguard

Minor edit. Page previously stated that the Redguard Disease Resistance made it harder to become a Vampire; according to the Diseases page and my own expirience, this is false, so I simply deleted the relevant text.Swk3000 10:39, 18 April 2009 (EDT)

RacistEdit

Hey someone needs to flip this back to the original version. obviously someone is being a complete jerk with this version. 66.237.49.38 01:25, 17 November 2009 (UTC) Concerned

May I ask how is the page "racist"?.--S'drassa 01:28, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Never mind someone just changed it back. had some pretty racist crap on it though. — Unsigned comment by 66.237.49.38 (talk) at 01:30 on 17 November 2009
The only thing racist I see currently are the ingame statistics, which unfortunately can't be changed. -10 Intelligence, Willpower and Personality? Bethesda has basically implied that black men are stupid, cowardly and obnoxious. 173.206.147.210 22:06, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Usually I don't even laugh at racism of any sort, but the above IP makes a good point and I never realized it. Also, throw in the fact that the in-game description says there the best at over-all weapons, adrenaline rush and the afro that all the redguards seem to have... man, whoever came up with those were either racist, or just had a somewhat-twisted sense of humor Mike/|\ 22:19, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Nords have the same stats. It is just a statement about the human race's negligence of magic in comparison to elves. Bretons are actually part elf.
Why not treat this as a game? Real life aspects do not apply here, as do in-game aspects not apply in real life. The fact that Redguards are portrayed as such does imply that black people are like that. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 22:29, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

() I treat it as a game, I was just pointing out the similarities of common stereotypes and the redguard stats/powers. Mike/|\ 22:34, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

They also get a +10 in Athletics. That would be another racial stereotype. --99.181.118.23 20:05, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Protecting this pageEdit

I think some administrator should protect this page, or semi-protect it, because it has suffered many attacks in the past and, lets face it, there are alot of racist people out there who will continue to bash redguards untill stopped.--Arch-Mage Matt 01:47, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

I second this, I looked at the history and it isn't as bad as the Journal page, but It is one of the worst I don't think it would hurt.--Corevette789 01:52, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
This is best brought up on the Administrator Noticeboard. Robin HoodTalk 02:13, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Done.--Corevette789 02:20, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Recent Edit InfoEdit

I just made an edit that removed a large chunk of information from this page. Something in the beginning of the page put the majority of the Lore page on this page. I removed the offending code, but am unsure how to get the page to look like the other Oblivion race pages do. I'll poke around and see of I can figure something out, but there's a pretty good chance that I won't be able to figure it out. If it makes any difference, the offending code was the word 'Lore' surrounded by { symbols. Swk3000 11:40, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

that is done on all race articles, for example, morrowind:redguard has the exact same thing on it, as does the skyrim article. (Eddie The Head 11:52, 1 November 2011 (UTC))
Thanks for pointing it out! The problem was not this page, but rather the Lore:Redguard page, where this page gets its intro from. Some faulty mark-up on that page caused the whole page to be transcluded, instead of only the intro. It's fixed now. Wolok gro-Barok 12:18, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
oh, my bad, i didnt see that. (Eddie The Head 12:24, 1 November 2011 (UTC)) 12:20, 1 November 2011 (UTC))
My fault, I did some work on the Redguard lore page a few days ago and forgot to double-check the other namespace articles for problems. Thanks, Wolok. Minor Edits 17:19, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Return to "Redguard" page.
