WelcomeEdit
Hello Wolok gro-Barok! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! --SerCenKing 15:35, 25 February 2009 (EST)
- Thank you for your warm welcome. I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I really love this site, and without it, playing Oblivion would be less enjoyable. I'll do everything I can to make this site even better, although don't expect major edits just yet! — Unsigned comment by Wolok gro-Barok (talk • contribs) on 13 March 2009
NPC DialogueEdit
Hi there! Sterling work on adding the many dialogues to the NPC pages! I assume, youre writing them "in-game", so it would be practical, if you added (in-game) to the tag, like I'm doing. That way, we can make sure that the dialogue isn't checked twice in-game, and the CS checkers will know which NPCs to check. Keep up the good work! Krusty 09:58, 7 April 2009 (EDT)
- You're right. I will do that from now on. Thanks! Wolok gro-Barok 10:03, 7 April 2009 (EDT)
- Thanks for your hard work for filling in the dialogues and rumors that I can't get (Italian CS) on the Mages Guild pages that I've been doing. I'm basically going to ask you what Krusty has: not that is matters much, but I can't really add your name to the tag, you'll have to do that on the pages that you have done. Even though I'm sure you know who to, see here. --SerCenKing Talk 08:11, 8 April 2009 (EDT)

NirnrootsEdit
In your opinion, do you think that placing Nirnroots where there is not near water would ruin that aspect of the game? Do you think that Nirnroots should only be placed near water, or do you think that it would be good enough to place it in areas where rain falls?
If neither is the case, then maybe I should make a new type of Nirnroot that can only be found away from water :D Maybe go with earthier tones like brown and gray or tan for the root....also, do you think that Nirnroots should be able to be placed in or around snow? Since snow is a type of water, maybe that would work....otherwise, I could also create a new kind of Nirnroot called a Snowroot or something like that that is white and yellow and place those in areas where there is snow....just some ideas, but I like bouncing them off of other people to see what they think of those ideas. Cheers, Razorflame 15:03, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
-
- I think that when you're talking about regular Nirnroots, like the one found in-game, it's best to place them near water, just so you don't ruin that aspect of the game.
- I like the idea of making new Nirnroots, like the Snowroots you suggested that can only be found in the Jerall and the Valus mountains. That Nirnroot would have very similar alchemical properties as the regular Nirnroots, so you can make new potions and poisons with drain effects and the like.
- I however do not have any Mods experience whatsoever, so I have no idea how to accomplish that. Hence, I'm playing on the PS3. I like the idea however, and if you'll ever need any more suggestions, I'll be happy to provide them! Cheers as well! Wolok gro-Barok 15:21, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
- After reading the article on Nirnroots here, I found that a few are actually found in Forts in the water and underwater. Do you think that underwater Nirnroots would be too hard to find or too much of a hassle to find, or do you think that it would add more depth to finding them (i.e. requiring Fin Gleam or an Amulet or Ring of Waterbreathing? Thanks for the opinion about finding Nirnroots. I will definitely only place them in or near water. I was actually thinking about making a permanent, unpickable giant Nirnroot somewhere, like on the island in Fort Grief, or in a city somewhere so that the user does not have to worry about never being able to see the big Nirnroots again. I'm still evolving the idea about making a mod, but when I get home and get the CS installed on my computer and start fooling around with it, I'll let you know if I'm going to continue along with this mod idea or not.
-
-
- I was indeed thinking about making new potions, however, this would probably require more in-depth knowledge about the game and the CS, so I do not think that the new potions would be included in my first version of the mod. I would probably include them in a later version of the mod when I've figured out how to do that. Also, once I learn how to make a quest in the Construction Set, I'll require a quest in order to start to see the new roots throughout the game. Another idea that I've had is to create the ability to grow your own Nirnroots in your house, although this would be a bit more of a challenge. Anyways, feel free to let me know if you get any good ideas. Cheers, Razorflame 16:06, 12 May 2009 (EDT)

Unique DialogueEdit
I removed this from Henantier's page. It's true that he's the only person to use that exact phrase (Bremman Senyan says "A hearty hello to you. So good to see you again!" and Roland Jenseric says "It's so good to see you again. I've spent a good deal of time speaking with Gilen and Grey-Throat. They agree that the Order should live on.") but it's not notable in any case. If we record every single piece of unique dialogue for each character, some pages will be vastly too long. Only the most important phrases should be recorded and that one just doesn't make the grade. Keep up the good work though! –Rpeh•T•C•E• 16:33, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
- I get the point, thanks for clarifying! Wolok gro-Barok 16:36, 12 May 2009 (EDT)

Brilliant!Edit
Really cool page on Honmund! And good to see you take on a full page in-game - I actually hoped you would do that sooner or later. And I hope, you will do even more pages in the future. As for the "trip" you're absolutely right - who knows when he's going? When I wrote Alga's page I tried talking to him as well - and when he told me about that weird trip, I just ran away from him. I just went through my notes, and I have never met him outside the city, so I can't help you there. All I wanted to say was: Nice work! (Oh, and btw - if you're feeling "grammarish", could you take a look at the Baenlin page? I'm nearly happy about it, but PLEASE, if you can come up with a cooler anecdote about Vicente Valtieri in the intro, I would be most grateful!) All the best! Krusty 15:31, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
- Thanks. I hoped I didn't interfere with your work since you did Alga, but that proved not to be the case. I'm certainly planning on adding more now my save file is working correctly again. I have also checked Beanlin's page for grammar and such and I also changed Vicente's anecdote. I hope you like it. Feel free to revert it. Anyway, keep up the good work as well! Wolok gro-Barok 15:52, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
- Not at all, Alga was part of my (un)motivated series of Speechcraft trainers - but, to make sure we don't "bump" into each other (meaning doing the exact same NPC at the same time) I'll keep my weird mini-projects updated on my page. And thank you for correcting the Baenlin-page. It was a page that turned out to be very HUGE (Ironic to spend that much time on a character, that most people will kill within seconds, but that's what I like about this project), and I must admit, at some point, I just wanted to save the page as quickly as possible. Krusty 16:04, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
Spelling/grammar mistakesEdit
I corrected three grammar mistakes in your Morrowwind section. I still think you should read it once or twice again yourself though, some things just don't sound... fluid. I really appreciate your work here on UESP ;) — Unsigned comment by Japf (talk • contribs)
- And I've just reverted those edits. There's a general rule here that you shouldn't edit other people's user pages. Posting messages on their talk pages is fine, and you can let Wolok know that you've spotted some mistakes on his user page, but you should leave it to him to correct them, if he wishes. Oh, and a little less of the vernacular in your edit descriptions would be nice ;-) --Gaebrial 07:54, 4 June 2009 (EDT)
- I agree with the general rule, but when I explicitly state on my Userpage that it's fine to correct grammar and/or spelling mistakes, I think we can bypass that rule. But I won't make mistakes anymore, so nobody has to change my page but me! Wolok gro-Barok 11:29, 7 June 2009 (EDT)
City-SwimmerEdit
Hello there! Just noticed, that you had done a few changes to the City-Swimmer page. Great! Now, as this is probably the worst schedule I have written (no background story, no passion, no nothing) and as I'm having huge trouble motivating myself to rewrite it, please: If you feel inspired one day, you're more than welcome to rewrite the whole thing - mostly because we have reached a much higher standard since then, and bacuse she's an interesting NPC. Anyway, just wanted to let you know, that you are tyotally free to rewrite it, if you want. Btw, what about those travels of Honmund? I noticed, that Theviking put the correct times on his Traveling NPCs page, just in case you still followed him around in the dark... All the best! Krusty 13:59, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Hey, I just revised through all of the NPCs with their schedule written, looking for spelling mistakes, decapitalizing class etc. (quite boring, I can tell you!) and City-Swimmer was one of them. I'll see what I can do, but I can't promise anything. As for Honmund's page, I followed him around and it seems to concur with Theviking's page. Thanks for mentioning that page. Honmund will soon be finished! This is actually your statement, but keep up the good work! Wolok gro-Barok 14:19, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
ExplanationEdit
I think it might have shown up that I made an edit to your page. I opened the edit box on your page to see how you did some of the things you did. I also used other editing tools on the site to help me. Anyhow I didn't change anything at all but I hit "save changes" on your thing thinking there would be no harm because I didn't actually make any changes. So if you do see my name anywhere around just be re-assured I did not change anything, and I apologize, I'm still learning the ropes :) Silkysmooth 19:54, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
- Don't worry about it! Nothing has changed, so I don't mind really. I'm pretty new here myself, so I don't know everything as well. Good luck editing! Wolok gro-Barok 02:26, 11 June 2009 (EDT)

I do not want to offendEdit
But when I add something to a old disusion I'm not thinking of the person who made it, but rather thinking that there are others with the same Q, so, personaly, I find that explaination for deleting most of my adds; void... Even if the person asking it has found a soulution, on a nuther sight or here, it can help others with a difrent route or previding the anser on the sight... Plus if I can not add anything to the subject, would it not be easyer to delete the entire disusion on the subject insted of deleting every new add? When you delete every add it can makes people feel stupid, & I feel you are doing this to say that person is wrong, even when it is a vald statment. Like, for example, this... You want to delete it because I'm pointing out that you are deleting usful information, but because I've said you want to delete it I know your going to try to prove me wrong... In witch case leave this here for all to see. All in all, your deleting help for other players.Lirum 20:58, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- We don't delete for the sake of deleting. Also, if you don't want things of yours to be edited, then a wiki isn't the right place for you. Edits such as this, this, and this don't add anything to the discussion. If you want to contribute, please at least contribute something to the topic you plan on discussing, not one word responses that add nothing new to the topic. --Elliot(T-C) 21:09, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

- if you have not joined the dark brotherhood then you only have 3 pirates to worry about. While most caves & stuff have HOW many enemies? Eh? Eh? MUTCH MORE THAN THREE... Plus you can get help from the gaurds. If you have started the dark brotherhood there are 3 outside & 3 inside, all of witch you can get help with... I fail to see that that is NOT easy. — Unsigned comment by Lirum (talk • contribs) at 03:38 on 14 July 2009 (UTC)

\=> Note the simplicity of this:
- I believe I found some on a dinner table in Castle Skingrad.
That is all that is truly required in the response. And regardless, having to kill many people and potentially throw off a quest is outlandish. And this could have been linked to. Notice the equal simplicity. Sp basically, add something new, add something easy, add nothing to really old conversations, or don't add at all. I am not trying to be mean, but I don't know any other way to explain it. --Elliot(T-C) 03:38, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

- I was on holiday, so I missed this discussion. Elliot already explained pretty much everything, but I will say something on this topic too. Two of the edits you made that I deleted were irrelevant. Personal experiences and mentioning your style of play should generally not be included. As I said, it adds nothing to a discussion. The other edit regarding sweetrolls was unhelpful. Mentioning every place were sweetrolls can be found is unnecessary, certainly when the last edit on that subject is almost 2-years-old. You should pay attention to the dates.
- I hope you now see why your edits were reverted by me. If you still have a question, feel free to contact me. We want you to keep contributing, but please be a little more careful when making posts. Good luck. Wolok gro-Barok 16:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Dark Welkynd StonesEdit
I've stopped playing Oblivion a recently, and went back to Morrowind (and forgot about the research until now), but I've found old bits of paper from before I quit, so...
I had been to all the ruins except a couple that were unaccessible without completing quests I've never done before (therefore not the right ruins), or the ones unaccessible without doing mage's guild quests. So the mage's guild ruins (Nenyond Twyll, Silorn and Vahtacen) could still have the deactivatable dark welkynd stones.
So I'll try and get back into Oblivion as a mage character, and hopefully complete my research that I shouldn't have forgotten about!
Oh by the way thank you for reminding me how to sign comments...I didn't notice it says how at the top of every comment I write...

Inappropriate WarningEdit
Why did you warn User talk:66.108.55.18 for this edit? You do know what juke means, right? It is a similar meaning word, but it is by no means bad. –Elliot talk 16:16, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- No, I didn't know what juke meant. I had a feeling it was something sexual, so I looked it up. I found this, what confirmed my thoughts. I did see the second entry referring to Juke music, but that was probably not what 66.2108.55.18 meant, since he had no reason to make that edit. So, I figured he tried to be funny by making sexual references, and deserved a warning. But I might have assumed Bad Faith... Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 16:25, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't heard it used in that manner before, so it may be a tad outlandish to say he was trying to use that definition (because juke means feint, which is similar to escape). –Elliot talk 16:27, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, well, I probably should have used more sources before judging an edit like this and jumping to conclusions. My warning seems to be inappropriate. I'll fix it. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 16:33, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Warning for Sandbox EditsEdit
Hi Wolok! I'm not adept enough with my Blackberry to make the necessary changes, but as far as I can tell the warning you gave the user for those sandbox edits isn't necessary. The sandbox is one place where we encourage people to mess around, so unless someone spams or adds something really inappropriate there's no need to warn. Thanks :) –Eshetalk 15:59, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- Gah, sorry for the double post. Mobile internet fail :(. –Eshetalk 16:05, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- It seems I need to be more careful with the warnings I hand out. Several appeared to be incorrect. Well, thanks Eshe for bringing it to my attention, and also a belated thanks to Elliot for mentioning that other warning I shouldn't have given. Should I change my warning into a notice or should the anonymous' talk page be deleted? Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 18:15, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think this one's up to you. You could either change it to a brief welcome or say the word and I'll zap it ;). I suppose deletion might be easier, but whatever you want to do is fine.
- It might not hurt to slow down a little when you're deciding whether to warn someone, but don't worry about it too much. Everybody makes mistakes, and frankly it's a relief to know there are other people keeping an eye on the place! Thanks for your help :). –Eshetalk 18:32, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

FithragaerEdit
Seems like you were right about Fithragaer - and that it was the right decision to revert my edit. The first time I tested that whole "keep-him-alive-thing", I couldn't trigger the quest update, even after killing Mucianus Allias. I had to go back and kill Fithragaer to get the quest update to go to the Arcane University. Oddly, when I tried it again just now, the quest updated nicely after I killed Mucianus and Fith is still alive. So it is definitely possible. Just wanted to point out, that you were right and I was wrong. I might do some more testing in time, just to determine WHEN and WHY it is possible to keep him alive - as the many pages aren't exactly clear on this matter. --Krusty 17:42, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks!Edit
Hey Wolok! Thanks for putting up those blocked messages. For some reason my phone's browser won't let me use message forms for notices or welcomes. So it turns out I can block and delete to my little heart's content, but I can't tell them about it. Go figure ;).
As a side note, the reason I didn't leave a message for the unacceptable username block was to avoid having a page name with the same inappropriate name. It's not a problem that you put it there, especially since that one wasn't all that bad, but I thought I'd let you know why I skipped it. Thanks again for your help! –Eshetalk 15:41, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- I had a feeling you purposely left out the block notice for that unacceptable username, but I figured it might be a tad sad if the user had planned on contributing (small chance, but still) only to find out they couldn't without knowing why. Patroller nominationEdit
If it's alright with you, I'd like to nominate you as a patroller on the site. I honestly thought you already were, but couldn't find your name on the list of current patrollers. Given that you have over 1500 edits to your name (with just over half in the Oblivion namespace alone), as well as your generally helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable attitude, I really think you deserve it. If you accept, post here and I'll make the request immediately. Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 23:45, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- I had not really planned becoming a patroller, but I don't have any particular objections either, so that's a yes! Thanks for your support Dlarsh! Need some help?Edit
Hey Wolok, I saw your edits to Staff of Nenalata. I was wondering what you were trying to do and if there was any way I could help? Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs,E-mail) 20:33, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well, VergilSparda's edit confused me. That's why I left them unpatrolled for now. He deleted an includeonly tag which made information from this page appear. I then found out that the Leveled Statistic table was present on that page and that should not be the case. I figured it had something to do with all those tags, so I did some tests to see what exactly changes each time. I think I've sorted it out now, but you can have a look to see if I did screw up ;). Thanks for the offer, Dlarsh. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 07:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Thank You, and a QuestionEdit
Thanks very much for the welcome. This new user appreciates it.
Despite my having user info badges ("This user is [X] years old", "This user is knowledgeable about Oblivion", etc.) on my personal page, I would like to see a full list if possible, or create my own. I've searched all over for information but can't find any. Would you be able to direct me? Much appreciated! – Irene Metrick 19:03, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- Of course! Most of the Userboxes can be found on this page. There are some userboxes that were created by other users and are not included in this list. In that case the appropriate way is to leave a message on their talk page and ask if you can "steal" it. But the most common ones are the ones on the page I linked to. Have fun! - Well, in all honesty, no. In fact, I didn't even know it was published. I guess that slightly makes that particular section of my userpage an exaggeration. It was over two years ago I finishes KOD, and my interest slowly faded over time. I guess I have to reread every book to get into it. But thanks for making me look up the release date. I will certainly read it one day. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 13:46, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Telepe TYEdit
Thanks for your edit on Telepe, I did go on a bit too much. It is always good to meet a true editor, who replaces and rephrases rather than just deletes. Anarchangel 17:53, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, you're welcome. But note that deletion is sometimes best, not just for your edits, but for some edits in general. You do have the tendency to go on and on sometimes. That's not bad. We value it, but do remember that it can make articles rather difficult to read sometimes. Some of the details you add are somewhat extensive, and will therefore be deleted or at least rephrased. Keep that in mind and continue contributing, as we certainly appreciate it. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 21:42, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
The Bear Season EditEdit
Sorry about the lack of an edit summary on the bear season page. I haven't visited any game wikis in a while, and I'm an admin at Fallout wiki so I've kinda fallen out of the habit of writing the reasons for my edit (I'd kinda just go on every now and then and delete stuff that doesn't work). I'll keep that in mind though. --99.225.112.216 16:33, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Delphine JendEdit
I'm not sure why it was important to revert that age-old edit, but I can't find any info to prove that "she enjoys killing Kynareth's woodland creatures". The rumors says nothing about it, and when she mentions it herself she just calls her various destruction spells "little presents for Kynareth's cute little woodland creatures." Furthermore, if you read her master training dialogue she will even call Bralsa Andaren "odd" and "eccentric". That's why I reverted the edit as guesswork. Again, it's no big deal and we can just keep it as is - but I'm not too sure about it. --Krusty 20:21, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I think I've made a very stupid mistake. I somehow thought the last dialogue on the page was about Delphine Jend, but it's not. That's why I mentioned the rumors, except the rumors aren't about her! I'll revert my revert. Thanks for correcting me, Krusty. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 20:26, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, that explains it. And no worries - I was just a bit surprised because the two sentences basically says the same thing - except the "newer" one wants her to be an animal-killer like Bralsa. And if you read her Bralsa-recommendation as a rumor, then the sentence would be right. Thanks for explaining it. :) --Krusty 20:35, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Your Mentor Program EditEdit
Just thought I'd mention: GameLord was notified of the removal of his name from the Mentor Program list... when he became active again, he could have re-added himself to the list if he'd wanted. No big deal either way, but you might want to point out to him that you've re-added him, in case he didn't want to be. --GKtalk2me 02:01, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

QuestionEdit
Thanks for the welcome message. What should a good edit summary include? For example, if I just was correcting punctuation, what should I put in the summary? Is it worth the edit if it's just a little bit of grammar? Thank you for your time. M1nt 01:26, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi M1nt! An edit summary should summarize the edit you just made. So if you corrected punctuation, you should put that in your edit summary, and if you improved grammar just saying "grammar" should do the trick. Oh, and don't worry too much about an edit summary. It isn't the end of the world if you miss out on one. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 10:13, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
quick editing question.Edit
First off, thanks for the welcome.
Now, does UESP have a "standard" for marking edits as minor? I'm used to just ignoring it and marking all my edits as minor edits, but this is mainly because most of the wikis I edit don't really make use of the minor edit function. I'm just asking now before I do make a bunch of edits and end up making a bunch of patrollers confused and/or annoyed. Jioruji Derako 16:03, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- You're welcome! As for the minor edits question, most of the edits made probably qualify as minor edits. When an edit does not fundamentally change the information on a page, it's appropriate to mark it as a minor edit. Other edits that do not qualify as minor are reverts of spam and vandalism, and the answering of talk page questions, like I do here. For some examples, see here. - In order to get rid of all the unreported assaults, you should commit a crime and get noticed. Simply stealing a worthless item should work. Get arrested by the guards and pay the fine. This also clears out all the unreported crimes. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 20:47, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Fortify EnduranceEdit
In case my edit summary was a bit cryptic, I mean that if you cast a 10pt Fortify Health spell, your Health will increase by 10; but if you cast a 10pt Fortify Endurance spell, your Health goes up by 20 (since Health = 2*End). Hope that clears it up :) --SerCenKing Talk 09:22, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, your edit summary was indeed a bit cryptic... ;) But, I believe the sentence makes more sense with the word Endurance than Health included. Fortify Endurance cast on yourself will increase your Health by twice the magnitude of the Fortify Health/Endurance spell. The word the refers to the first two words of that sentence, that being Fortify Endurance. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 09:29, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose it could work both ways, since the "the" could also just be a general term for any spell (the "Frost Shield" effect/spell etc). I guess that since Fortify Health is mentioned below, it makes sense to have Fortify Health. In any case, I don't think it really matters - if we want to change it back to Endurance, then I suggest removing it entirely and simply having "twice the magnitude of the spell, to avoid further confusion. If we keep it as it is, we might as well take the "the" off. I honestly don't mind which way round we do it. --SerCenKing Talk 09:35, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- It works both ways indeed, now that I see it. Since the page has been edited numerously over the last couple of days, it appears it isn't entirely clear. I'll try and clean it up then. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 09:47, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Because of Morrowind, I decided to check back on UESPWiki. Being away for a year (these edits in January don't really count), I find myself slightly unfamiliar with some elements of the Wiki though. My knowledge of Oblivion is probably severely lacking at this moment, and I question if I'm still Patroller-worthy. - Two months of practice before SR should be of use! If you really feel you're not patrol-ready, any admin can remove that flag from your account, and any other admin can add it back again at a moment's request - we wouldn't need another vote if you voluntarily step aside for a week or two. It's a sign of a good patroller that he or she realises that a break might mean a brief refresher is necessary, but the vote stands even if you need a break. I'm sure you'll soon slip back into the way of things! rpeh •T•C•E• 00:02, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's not that I necessarily think that I go horribly wrong with my Patroller abilities, it's just that I feel making minor edits and reverting edits is too trivial for a patroller. On the other hand, an extra patroller will always come in handy, I suppose. I like to keep them for now. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 12:10, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

YokuEdit
Could that page not be classed as a test edit by a new user? That's why I put a Speed rather than a Prod, what does that page count as? I would say Proposed Deletion, because no one really needs to add an opinion in. I would say its fairly straight forward, can you point me to where i've missed something? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:39, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- I believe it is usual to propose an article for deletion if it does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion. I looked at our UESPWiki:Deletion Policy and couldn't find an entry for pages that were created in the wrong Namespace in the speedy deletion section, so I proposed it for deletion instead. I do no think the article qualifies as a test edit, as the original author was not testing stuff but rather trying to add information they couldn't find. Wolok gro-Barok 19:47, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

How can you find a book ID? I'd love to help out more.— Unsigned comment by Toddself (talk • contribs) at 19:39 on 12 November 2011
- I got it from the book page itself. The info is already there. Welcome to the site! Wolok gro-Barok 19:46, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Thank youEdit
Thanks for the verification on the same-sex marriage issue. It was the only edit from that account, so I wasn't sure whether to take it as real or as possible vandalism. – Robin Hood↝talk 21:59, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Formatting Quest LocationsEdit
I saw your edit removing the "ugly brs" from Pieces of the Past. That was my ugliness, I'm afraid. And even afraider to ask you to look at the same field on With Friends Like These.... WARNING: Don't look at it if you are not prepared for a shocking dose of ugliness! Seriously, can you change that one to how you would do it? I'm watching and slowly learning. Thanks. --Jreynolds2Talk 16:24, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- OMG, my eyes! Guards, assault, assault! Just kidding, it actually looks fine. The problem was the giant white space, and I attempted to remove that. I don't believe we have any strong guidelines on how to handle this, so it's mere personal opinion. I thought my version looked slightly better, and it seems to be most common option. I don't have any strong feelings either way, and your layout looks good enough too. In the long run we probably should have some sort of consistent layout, but that's not a priority now. Wolok gro-Barok 18:49, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- How many guards? I'm going to stay in here with Astrid for awhile. She just told me the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary is the safest place in Skyrim. Thanks. I thought yours looked better, too. Sometimes it seems to be a matter of how much text is there and where the names of the locations break up. I'll start to notice that part more now, but yeah, getting more useful stuff on now and prettying-up later is smart. --Jreynolds2Talk 19:36, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation of Skyrim:WinterholdEdit
Was there any discussion about the disambiguation of Winterhold in the Skyrim namespace (not Lore:)? I'm just asking because your first change got reverted. Personally I think the city is of far greater interest to the average Skyrim player than the hold, so forcing them to go through a disambiguation page is suboptimal. Having the most important topic using the title directly, and just pointing to other uses/meanings from there is quite common on wikipedia. There can be other views of course, but since this is kind of a bigger change, I'd have expected some sort of discussion before going the disambiguation way again. --Alfwyn 12:59, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- No, there wasn't any discussion. Or if there was, I was not part of it. I realised I was out of line by implementing it again before you pounted it out, but I reverted it for now. I got a bit frustrated because my change was undone without a reasonable explanation (rearranging isn't that much of a summary), especially considering the fact that all those links need to be updated again. As for the actual issue, the city of Winterhold is hardly any interesting than the hold itself. A greater case can be made for Morrowind:Vivec, where most players will undoubtedly be looking for the city Vivec, rather than his lordship. I fail to see why a disambiguation page for Winterhold isn't wanted. Wolok gro-Barok 15:14, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Sanguine Items QuestEdit
Regarding my rumor related stampede over the Morrowind NPC pages (and your fixes of it, nice job btw.) I think these two edits were unnecessary. The quest to collect all of the Sanguine Items is extremely difficult without some kind of walkthrough. Most of the items can be found if you complete Morag Tong questline, some others by raiding shrines to Merhunes Dagon. There are however two people who carry Sanguine Items who, until recently, I thought to be completely random. Honestly, these two rumor are the ONLY hint that Dro'Zaymar and Gluronk gra-Shula carry those two items and in return to finish the quest through proper channels. Sooo, would you mind if I reverted those two edits? -- kertaw48 20:14, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I reverted these edits because they are not consistent. For example, several more NPCs have rumors related to a quest, like Morrowind:Talis Drurel, yet they are not deemed quest-related. While I realise the Morag Tong quest sends you on a wild goose chase, I feel consistency is the more important factor here. Furthermore, I do not really consider these NPCs quest-related either way. However, I don't have a very strong opinion on this, so if you really think it's essential information, feel free to revert it. Wolok gro-Barok 20:28, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I agree it would, under normal circumstances, be silly to make every person who mentions a quest be quest related, but in this case they are the ONLY people to mention it. I'm guessing it was supposed to be a global script, but someone messed it up. Either way, thanks for your approval of the reverts. I'll let you get back to your work. -- kertaw48 20:42, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Klimmek's HouseEdit
You mentioned on the CP templates page that Klimmek's House could be cleared. But it doesn't have the clearable flag, and I'd really like to get a slightly better handle on what controls clearing before asking my bot to update hundreds of pages. Do you remember whether it happened after killing Klimmek and/or Bassianus Axius? (They're listed as the location's bosses)? Or do you have any other details on what happened? Thanks! --NepheleTalk 16:32, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- I should be able to check tomorrow evening as I don't have access to Skyrim today. I believe neither Klimmek or Bassianus were dead when I spotted that on the local map Klimmek's house showed up as cleared. I did, however, just complete Klimmek's and Bassianus part in the Book of Love quest, so that might have an influence too. Either way, I hope to provide more details tomorrow evening. Wolok gro-Barok 17:17, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, and if you have a chance to get more details, that would be great. I've finished The Book of Love, and don't have a cleared flag on the house. Just to test things, I also broke into the house, took every item in the place, and killed Klimmek and Bassianus. Still no cleared flag. I'm starting to wonder whether it might be some type of glitch and/or save file corruption that can cause that one flag to get switched on by mistake. In the meantime, I'll keep doing research to see if I can come up with any other explanation. --NepheleTalk 19:26, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm, strange. Both Klimmek and Bassianus are alive and well, and yet the house shows up as cleared on the local map. When I'm standing outside the house, in Ivarstead itself, and when I hover over the icon to Klimmek's House, it shows up as cleared. When I'm inside the house, however, the cleared tag has disappeared. When I get outside again, it reappears. I even started a new game and manually traveled to Ivarstead (damn PS3 version!) and it still says I've cleared it, while I haven't even entered it. Since this issue is apparently not reproducible, it might just be a strange hiccup in my game, similar to Xyzzy's problem with Purewater Run. Wolok gro-Barok 19:27, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know if you get this on the PS3, but on the PC, there are some things (like merchants' available gold) that don't reliably reset until you exit the game and restart it. When you started your new game, was it immediately after you'd launched the game, or was it just by exiting to the menu from your already-loaded game? Might make a difference. I'll also pop over to Ivarstead in my game and see if there's anything to be seen there. I'm not on the PS3, but hey, it can't hurt. – Robin Hood↝talk 21:44, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Does sound more and more like it's bugginess rather than something reproducible. Which is a bit of a relief -- because it leaves me feeling more confident that we understand how the cleared tag is supposed to be getting set. FWIW, in my experiments I was checking both when inside the building, and when outside on the local Ivarstead map, and wasn't seeing "cleared" in either place. --NepheleTalk 03:17, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

(←) The mystery deepens! I just cleared Shroud Hearth Barrow and lo and behold, Klimmek's House is also cleared! – Robin Hood↝talk 06:19, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
-
- That might actually make sense.... I'm guessing it's because the entrance to the house lies in the
ShroudHearthBarrowExterior
cell, which is defined to be part of the Shroud Hearth Barrow Location. The code might automatically display a "cleared" flag next to any door that is contained in a cleared cell. It would be interesting if someone could confirm that Klimmek's House is the only one that falls in that cell... and whether anything similar might be possible at Purewater Run. --NepheleTalk 06:27, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

- Bah! I just added to my note saying exactly that, but you beat me to it, causing an edit conflict. Just to add a bit, though, the only door in the Exterior cell is Klimmek's and the Barrow's, so I suspect we're on the right track. I think I've discovered Purewater Run in my game (if not, generous use of Console commands will do it)...I'll go have a look and report back. – Robin Hood↝talk 06:33, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

- I just checked out Purewater Run in-game and I'm not sure how to clear it, as the "dungeon" is basically a glorified room. Also, the auto-load door is the only one in the location. (Edit: poking around at Purewater Run in the CK a bit, I do notice that it's got a Wilderness cell off in the middle of nowhere compared to the dungeon itself.) – Robin Hood↝talk 06:50, 20 March 2012 (UTC), Edit: 07:03, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

- Well, I've spent the last hour or so doing everything I could think of that might cause Purewater Run to be marked Cleared and so far, nothing. I did a
killall
in the cavern, in the surrounding areas, in the areas surrounding the incorrectly placed Wilderness cell, and in Embershard Mine, which cleared the Mine, but had no effect on Purewater. While clearing is supposed to be based on killing all bosses, I picked up everything I could find in Purewater Run, just to be on the safe side. Still nothing. I do find it highly suspicious, though, that we've had a report of anomalous behaviour there and that there just "happens" to be a misplaced Wilderness cell allocated to the area. Oh and if you're looking for the cell, just climb up the hill from the Guardian Stones and when the road curves sharply, you're there....open up your local map in that area and it'll tell you you're in Purewater Run. – Robin Hood↝talk 08:11, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey, long time no see! Glad to see you back. – Robin Hood (talk) 01:27, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you RobinHood70 for the welcome back! I'm not really back, though. Just playing some Oblivion (finally with the DLCs and the Shivering Isles!) before another college year starts. When that happens I'm probably not gonna be that active, if at all. Wolok gro-Barok (talk) 11:06, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
