There are 18 Skills in Skyrim - The Adventure Game, up to 8 of which can be learned. When Leveling Up, you can choose one Skill that you haven't already learned to slot on your Character Board. Skills are split evenly (6 each) between three families: Might, Shadow, and Sorcery.

All Skills are useful, one way or another. It can be tempting to only learn Skills that can be used in combat, but this approach may leave you unprepared for other elements of the game, where other Skills are important. The ideal approach is to build a well-balanced character, with Skills that fit their identity.

Skill TestsEdit

During the game, your characters' skills will be constantly put to the test. In combat or calm, there are always situations where you will have to perform a Skill Test to succeed.

When asked to perform a Skill Test, roll 3 dice and try to beat the required result. If your character has learned the Skill, you can roll an additional die. Further into the game, you can obtain Legendary Skills to give you yet another die to use. Most Skill Tests allow you to Push, spending resources to buy another dice to roll. You can Push one die at a time until you are satisfied with the result or run out of resources to spend. If you have an effect that allows you to gain Skill Test dice, such as the Ring of Luck, the additional dice are added to the initial roll, not to any Pushes.

A Skill Test's difficulty lies in the type and amount of icons required. The most common symbol is the circle   with a 50% probability. The second most common symbol, the triangle  , has a 33% probability. The rarest symbol is the diamond   with a 16.5% probability.

If the Skill Test instructs you to roll Health, Magicka, or Stamina instead of a Skill, roll as many dice as your maximum Health, Magicka, or Stamina.

Legendary SkillsEdit

When you have learned 8 skills, you may learn Legendary Skills (represented by the   icon). When you make the choice to learn a Skill beyond your 8th, you instead choose one of the Skill tokens you have already acquired and flip it, making it Legendary. This would count as a level up and can be done multiple times, however this action costs 15 Experience.

In Skill Tests, instead of providing one die to the player, the respective Legendary Skill provides two. Some Legendary Skills also give bonuses.

In addition, some enemies have attacks that will only be performed against players with Legendary Skills. When an enemy has an attack action line in a darker color, that attack will only be effective against players with Legendary skills. Otherwise, any attacks matching that icon will automatically miss.

If using the Legendary Encounter Card Pack, Legendary Encounters will be added to the Dungeon decks upon receiving your first Legendary Skill.
