When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

- Thanks! I'm in the middle of doing a full playthrough, and planning on checking out as much of the game as possible, including DLC and stuff (except maybe group dungeons since I'm a solo player with companion only) so will keep an eye out and update stuff as I go along. --Drakonian (talk) 22:26, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
Monastic FalenEdit
Hi there! Would you mind describing Monastic Falen's location on her page so people can find her?
I appreciate all the hard work! -MolagBallet (talk) 00:55, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

- Thanks again! Thanks for that link also, not sure I'll look at it right now since I'm handling NPCs as I come across them in my current playthrough to keep it as natural as possible but I might later on and see if I missed some here and there or whatnot. --Drakonian (talk) 01:07, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
ThanksEdit
Thanks for catching my mistake on the faction for the Ossuary shades! I'm still a bit conked from last night's human bot spree, thought I saw Mages Guild robes, and kinda blanked. -MolagBallet (talk) 20:40, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
NPCs from ScratchEdit
If you ever need to create an NPC page from scratch again, there's a blank copy of the template right here with most of the bells and whistles + hidden templates. We also have an |object= parameter for non-creature or person objects like the Fractured Spirit: we decided what to do with those several years ago after loosely defining them as creatures for the longest time.
Keep up the good work! -MolagBallet (talk) 19:25, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
Show previewEdit
Hi Drakonian! Thanks for your work on the ESO mob pages. I noticed that you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits with no edit summaries create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. —Legoless (talk) 14:20, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I do actually use the Show Preview feature a lot edit to edit but sometimes I do get a little too hasty even when using the feature and forget some obvious stuff when I proof-read again afterward. I'll try to be more careful with that going forward, thanks! --Drakonian (talk) 15:44, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Redirects from MovesEdit
Good afternoon! When you move pages, would you mind checking the "What Links Here" section of the sidebar and changing the links from the old pages to that of the new (i.e. changing Meranya (Cyrodiil) to Meranya (Eastern Elsweyr Gate))? -MolagBallet (talk) 20:08, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Sure thing, I wasn't aware of that option existing. --Drakonian (talk) 21:09, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Health ValuesEdit
Good morning! If you ever want to dive into documenting NPC health values, the UESPLog add-on is what I use to nab precise values for all those generics. It has a feature that relays documented NPCs to the chat window, which is primarily how I get my information. Everything the add-on catches is also saved to an lua file located in ESO's SavedVariables folder that you can read with any basic text editor.
Thanks again for all the help! -MolagBallet (talk) 16:31, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
Deprecated GenericsEdit
Good afternoon! I just wanted to touch base with you on deprecated generics before we find ourselves having to deal with too many of them: it may behoove us to preserve removed generics in the table to document the game's history. I have a few ideas on how to handle them, but I'd like your input seeing as how you and I work on these tables most frequently.
My first thought was to strikethrough a deprecated entry much as we do with lists, but that seems cumbersome: we'd have to place open and close strikethrough tags in every cell of a particular entry's row in order to achieve something close to the desired effect, and even then, it won't be a clean line through the entire row.
We could also use the Intnote template, as you've no doubt seen on enemies with variable health values in solo instances, like bone colossi. If you have any input, preferences, etc. on how we should handle deprecated instances, I would be glad to hear it!
In the meantime, if you run through an area and find that a generic entity in one of these tables doesn't seem to exist where the table says it is, would you mind using the {{vn}} template to mark it instead of removing it first? It's always good to double check before eliminating an entry in these tables: there are generics everywhere in ESO, and it certainly doesn't help that some of them are weird one-off summons instead of static encounters! Once we figure out how to deal with deprecated generics, we could retroactively apply our solution whenever we find one.
Thanks for helping us keep up with all those generic NPCs! I look forward to hearing your opinion on the matter. —MolagBallet (talk) 21:19, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, concerning the generics, I have no issues with putting the verified tag first. I can't say I have given that much thought on that deep a level though otherwise, as the only issue I have found so far which I was removing before were entries listed as region-wide with no specific locations given, the main and only case I can think being the Cyrodiil ones.
- I have added a few borderline blank entries previously as part of my dungeon edits as I used videos for reference instead of playing the dungeon myself (for the newer ones that require large groups, as I am a solo player myself) so I know for sure they are in the dungeon, I just don't know what to name the specific locations/name they are found in the dungeon.
- Otherwise, I think the generics tables are looking alright, and haven't found any entries outside of those in Cyrodiil that I would deem as deprecated or close to that level. --Drakonian (talk) 22:56, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
-
- The NPCs in Cyrodiil with no specified location are a holdover from before we started using the table. We were cramming everything into the NPC summary, so there wasn't much space for specification. We just need to go in and pinpoint their exact locations.
-
- I'm leaning towards using the intnote template for deprecated entries: if you have any preference for how it should be formatted, give me a shout! —MolagBallet (talk) 04:33, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

- I don't have any particular preference, as I haven't really found much if at all 100% for sure deprecated generics. The one I removed yesterday for the zombies in Vaults of Madness I suspect was a mistake rather. I'm guessing the person who made that entry mistook bonelord summons for occupants of the dungeon as bonelords are found in that specific room that was mentioned. So overall, use whatever method you think is best. --Drakonian (talk) 04:37, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

CategoriesEdit
Hey! I noticed you added the spirits category to some larger creature pages based on specific variants being spirits. I don't think we should be doing this, as it gives the impression that the whole grouping of creatures are considered spirits, which is incorrect. The individual creature pages that are spirit versions of that overall creature type should be in the category, but I think the overall creature type shouldn't be. Not all scamps are spirits, after all, and being in the category implies that they are. Jeancey (talk) 17:06, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- There are no individual pages for those creatures, as they are listed in the generics table on the main pages which are setup to catch those enemies with slight change in stats and conditions, which I have helped contribute to with MolagBallet, so there are no other pages to apply those categories to from what I can see.
- I personally don't view it that way, I think it's just like the difficulty categories or follower categories and etc, it's just so that they are included in the related categories when some of the generics have those properties. Now if a broader more visible edit was on the bulk of the page I could see it but I don't think putting a category at the very bottom is on that level. --Drakonian (talk) 17:47, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Removal of InformationEdit
Hi Drakonian, just wanted to start off by saying thank you for your maintenance of ESO pages, you've been very helpful in adding a lot of info we've long been missing. I should let you know that in certain edits, you've been removing information that is beneficial, such as passive creatures and character sections. The character section should be kept for ease of navigation for listing any characters marked as friendly. When it comes to the occupants section, it has a weird long history of being a remnant from Oblivion/Skyrim page infoboxes to list presets of enemies, and for ESO there wasn't any clear decision of what to do with it due to the game's different functionality. I do support using it to list hostile enemies only, but if there are passive creatures listed in there too (ie Fiendroths), you should not remove it from the page entirely. That info can't be found anywhere else and removing it makes it hard to preserve. Please instead try to list the info on passive creatures elsewhere on the article, either in the body or in a different section. You make a lot of edits every day so this type of stuff can easily fall through the cracks and go unnoticed, I'm just letting you know to keep this in mind for the future. You've been doing a lot of great work on the wiki otherwise. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 03:47, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I will keep that in mind for including passives elsewhere on the page moving forward. However, in the specific case that you linked, I removed the table that only had one NPC in it since that NPC is a hostile enemy so it was more fitting to include it in the occupants like I've seen on several other pages I have come across recently. Thank you for reaching out and for your support!
