Scholars of Dwemer history have concluded that this site on the south slopes of Red Mountain was built late in the reign of the Deep Elves for some specific research purpose—but none can agree on what that purpose was.
Nchuleftingth

Nchuleftingth is a Dwemer ruin and public dungeon found in the Molag Amur region of Vvardenfell, northeast of Suran.

Apart from various Dwemer constructs, the dungeon has lately been occupied by treasure hunter Lenarmen and his hired Bronzefist mercenaries, searching for a powerful artifact. Butterflies, Centipedes, Dragonflies and Skavengers are found in numbers within.

The seven fragments for the Dwarven Theodolite pet and achievement are randomly dropped from enemies in this zone.

LayoutEdit

Nchuleftingth ApproachEdit

This is the first part of the public dungeon. The whole public dungeon is of dwarven architecture and is fully overgrown with Morrowind's vegetation. It splits into three directions: Forward is a small square room, to the west and east both go into the larger part of Nchuleftingth Approach. This larger part is a cavern with a mix of Morrowind's Fauna and dwarven parts. Various animals and Animonculi are present here, dwarven traps as well. The cavern has a lower and a higher level. A sort of hidden part in the higher level houses one of the public dungeon's bosses. Two rivers join towards the center. You can go to Nchuleftingth Bailey by using a door at the east.

Nchuleftingth BaileyEdit

You arrive at this part from Nchuleftingth Approach. To the left is a small room with two bosses and to the right is the door to Nchuleftingth Ruins, though both are on the same map.

Nchuleftingth RuinsEdit

You arrive at this part from Nchuleftingth Bailey. It takes shape of a ring with a giant hole into lava at the center. You will finally encounter Bronzefist enemies there with dwarven animonculi. It is littered with dwarven traps. You can access Nchuleftingth Core from the door at the southeast, Ametric Interval Chamber from the door west of it and Nchuleftingth Lavaworks from the door to the north. The far east part is only accessed by either first going through Nchuleftingth Core or Nchuleftingth Lavaworks, or by a dangerous ledge full of traps near the north door. From here there are three doors, a door to Nchuleftingth Core at the southeast and a door to Nchuleftingth Lavaworks at the northeast, as mentionned, but also the door to Nchuleftingth Cathedra at the east by a staircase.

Ametric Interval ChamberEdit

You arrive at this part from the door in Nchuleftingth Ruins. It is only accessible if you have the Adversarial Adventures quest active. It is purely of dwarven architecture with a medium sized area where you arrive. A staircase to your left leads to a door to the outside.

Nchuleftingth CoreEdit

You arrive at this part from either doors of Nchuleftingth Ruins. Their path joins and you will encounter the public dungeon's group boss, Nchulaeon the Eternal, which stands at the crossroad of three extremely similar paths. Upon combat, it will roll to the end of a path where a moving platform will raise it higher and renders it untargetable while waves of dwarven animonculi will fight you. This section is the most filled with dwarven traps.

Nchuleftingth LavaworksEdit

You arrive at this part from either doors of Nchuleftingth Ruins. If you use the north door you will arrive from the west and if you use the northeast door you will arrive from the south, where the skyshard is located. As indicated in the name, this section features lava everywhere. Almost none of Morrowind's Vegetation is found here, it is mostly dwarven architecture in a cavern. You will have to use high bridges without railings to navigate, dwarven animonculi and Bronzefist forces will fight you here, as well as many dwarven traps. The door to Nchuleftingth Control Room is found to the east.

Nchuleftingth Control RoomEdit

You arrive here from the door in Nchuleftingth Lavaworks. It is a very small rectangular room and is only used for The Heart's Desire quest, though you can access it anytime. It also houses the unique "Laser" trap which are four lines of electricity lined verticaly that activate on a pattern, dealing extremely fast ticks of damage.

Nchuleftingth CathedraEdit

Accessed from the central door at the east of Nchuleftingth Ruins, a long staircase leads to a room where Artisan Lenarmen can be found at the center. During combat, he will summon various automata to aid him. It is a large square-shaped room with large pillars placed in the corners of a smaller square pattern. The door to Nchuleftingth Sanctuary is found to the north.

Nchuleftingth SanctuaryEdit

A room connected to the Cathedra, the Bthark Prism is found here inside a chest. A Dwemer Astrolobe, Centurion Head, and empty chest can be searched here during the related quest. The book The Heart of Lorkhan, My Final Prize is found on a table next to the empty chest and a door to the surface is found on the left side. A door to the outside is found to the west.

NotesEdit

  • Nchuleftingth also appears in TES III: Morrowind.
  • The loading screen for Nchuleft mentions these locations as being confused for one another, due to their similar names.
  • The metal chair found above the prism in the sanctuary is identical to the seat used by the Harmonic Auditor.
  • Several traps can be found throughout the dungeon:
    • Steam vent traps that deal continuous moderate flame damage when standing on.
    • Piston traps that inflict moderate shock damage and knock you away.
    • Shock beam traps that inflict continuous low shock damage and snare you if you pass through, while overcharging and buffing dwarven automatons that go through.

BugsEdit

  • An additional on-screen "Location Discovered"-style pop-up appears on-screen whenever entering the Ruins and Core sections of the dungeon.
