Poison Damage is a type of damage. It can be acquired in several ways. It is most common on Bow skills or the stamina morphs of some class abilities. Can cause the Status Effect Poisoned.

The poison seeps into the target and deals increased damage the longer it lasts, dealing [9 / 10 / 11 / 12]% more damage every 2 seconds. Enemies hit by the initial hit are afflicted with the Poisoned status effect.
   Burning Embers Heals you for a percentage of damage done.
Slash an enemy with flame, dealing 3176 Flame Damage and an additional 9525 Flame Damage over 20 seconds. You heal for [94 / 96 / 98 / 100]% of the damage done with this ability. Enemies hit by the initial hit are afflicted with the Burning status effect.
   Fiery Breath 20 Instant Cone 10 meters 20 seconds 3510 Magicka
Exhale a flaming blast to enemies in front of you, dealing [4610 / 4660 / 4711 / 4761] Flame Damage and an additional [7679 / 7758 / 7844 / 7919] Flame Damage over 20 seconds.
     Noxious Breath Converts into a Stamina ability and deals Poison Damage. Applies Major Breach to enemies, reducing their Resistances.
Cost: 2984 Stamina.
Exhale a corrosive blast to enemies in front of you, dealing [4765 / 4816 / 4869 / 4921] Poison Damage and an additional [7949 / 8037 / 8125 / 8216] Poison Damage over 20 seconds. Afflicts enemies with Major Breach, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 5948.
   Engulfing Flames Affected enemies take more damage from all Flame Damage attacks.
Exhale a flaming blast to enemies in front of you, dealing [4765 / 4816 / 4869 / 4921] Flame Damage and an additional [7949 / 8037 / 8125 / 8216] Flame Damage over 20 seconds. Affected enemies take more damage from all Flame Damage attacks based on your Weapon and Spell Damage, and Max Magicka or Stamina, with a maximum of 6% bonus damage taken. Current value 6%.
   Magma Armor 12 Instant Self 10 seconds 200 Ultimate
Duration: [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds.
Ignite the molten lava in your veins, limiting incoming damage to 3% of your Max Health and dealing 922 Flame Damage to nearby enemies each second for [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds.
     Magma Shell When activated nearby allies gain a powerful damage shield.
Ignite the molten lava in your veins, limiting incoming damage to 3% of your Max Health and dealing [922 / 932 / 942 / 952] Flame Damage to nearby enemies each second for 10 seconds. When activated, nearby allies gain a damage shield for 100% of their Max Health for 10 seconds.
   Corrosive Armor Deals Poison Damage. While active, your direct attacks ignore Physical and Spell Resistance, but you cannot generate Ultimate.
Oxidize the green Dragon blood in your veins, limiting incoming damage to 3% of your Max Health and dealing [922 / 932 / 942 / 952] Poison Damage to nearby enemies each second for 10 seconds. While active, this ability and your direct damage attacks ignores enemy Physical and Spell Resistance, but you cannot generate Ultimate.
   Scorch 4 Instant Area 20 meters 9 seconds 2700 Magicka
Stir a group of shalk that attack after 3 seconds, dealing [6641 / 6713 / 6786 / 6860] Magic Damage to enemies in front of you. After the shalk complete their attack, they burrow underground for 6 seconds and then resurface again, dealing [9223 / 9324 / 9426 / 9527] Magic Damage to enemies in front of you.
     Subterranean Assault Converts to a Stamina ability and deals Poison Damage. Reduces the cost and time it takes for the ability to deal damage, but the second hit no longer deals increased damage.
Cost: 2066 Stamina, Duration: 6 seconds.

   Deep Fissure Applies Major and Minor Breach to enemies hit, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance.

   Flame Skull 1 Instant Enemy 28 meters 2700 Magicka
Lob an explosive skull at an enemy, dealing [5533 / 5594 / 5654 / 5715] Flame Damage. Every third cast of this ability deals 50% increased damage.
     Venom Skull Converts into a Stamina ability and deals Poison Damage. Casting any Necromancer ability counts towards the third cast.
Cost: 2295 Stamina.
Lob an explosive skull at an enemy, dealing [5716 / 5779 / 5842 / 5904] Poison Damage. Every third cast of this ability deals 50% increased damage. While slotted, casting any Necromancer ability while you are in combat will count towards the third cast.
   Ricochet Skull The third cast of the skull will bounce to other nearby enemies.
Area: 8 meters.
Lob an explosive skull at an enemy, dealing [5716 / 5779 / 5842 / 5904] Flame Damage. Every third cast of this ability deals 50% increased damage and will bounce up to 2 times to other nearby enemies.
   Rapid Fire 50 Instant Enemy 28 meters 175 Ultimate
Unleash a barrage of arrows at an enemy, dealing [46102 / 46603 / 47113 / 47615] Physical Damage over 4 seconds. You can move at full speed and are immune to all disabling effects while channeling this attack.
     Toxic Barrage Deals Poison Damage. Dealing damage with the attack injects them with poison, dealing additional damage over time.
Unleash a barrage of arrows at an enemy, dealing 47647 Poison Damage over 4 seconds. After dealing damage you poison the enemy, dealing an additional [23823 / 24082 / 24345 / 24603] Poison Damage over 8 seconds after a 1 second delay. You can move at full speed and are immune to all disabling effects while channeling this attack.
   Ballista Summon a turret to channel the attack for you, but for less damage.
Channel Time: Instant, Duration: 5 seconds, Range: 25 meters.

     Lethal Arrow Deals Poison Damage and always applies the Poisoned status effect. Also applies Minor Defile to the enemy.
Plant a masterfully aimed arrow in an enemy's vital spot, dealing [6574 / 6646 / 6718 / 6791] Poison Damage and applying the Poisoned status effect. Also afflicts enemy with Minor Defile, which reduces their healing received and damage shield strength by 6% for 4 seconds.
   Focused Aim Increases the range, always applies the Sundered status effect, and reduces cost as the ability ranks up.
Cost: [2700 / 2610 / 2520 / 2430] Stamina, Range: 40 meters.

Fire a burst of arrows in one shot, dealing [4610 / 4660 / 4711 / 4761] Physical Damage to enemies in front of you.
     Bombard Immobilizes enemies hit and reduces the cost as the ability ranks up.
Cost: [3510 / 3420 / 3330 / 3240] Stamina, Duration: 4 seconds.
Fire a burst of arrows in one shot, dealing 4765 Physical Damage to enemies in front of you. Enemies hit are immobilized for 4 seconds.
   Acid Spray Deals Poison Damage and adds additional damage over time.
Duration: 4 seconds.
Fire a burst of arrows in one shot, dealing 4765 Poison Damage to enemies in front of you, and dealing an additional [4335 / 4383 / 4431 / 4479] Poison Damage over 5 seconds.
   Poison Arrow 38 Instant Enemy 28 meters 20 seconds 2700 Stamina
Shoot an arrow coated in Baandari poison at an enemy, dealing [3073 / 3107 / 3140 / 3174] Poison Damage and an additional [9224 / 9317 / 9421 / 9518] Poison Damage over 20 seconds.
     Venom Arrow Interrupts enemies hit if they are casting. Grants Major Brutality and Sorcery after casting. Reduces cost as ability ranks up.
Cost: [2700 / 2610 / 2520 / 2430] Stamina.
Shoot an arrow coated in Shadowscale poison at an enemy, dealing 3176 Poison Damage and an additional 9525 Poison Damage over 20 seconds. If the enemy hit is casting an ability they are interrupted, set Off Balance, and stunned for 3 seconds. After casting you gain Major Brutality and Sorcery, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage for 20 seconds.
   Poison Injection Deals additional damage to low Health enemies.
Shoot an arrow coated in Baandari poison at an enemy, dealing 3176 Poison Damage and an additional 9525 Poison Damage over 20 seconds. Deals up to [105 / 110 / 115 / 120]% more damage to enemies under 50% Health.
   Trapping Webs 2 Instant Ground 28 meters 4 meters 10 seconds 2984 Stamina
Hurl webs to ensnare your foes, reducing the Movement Speed of enemies in the area by 50% and dealing [4610 / 4660 / 4711 / 4761] Physical Damage. After 10 seconds the webs explode, dealing [6149 / 6216 / 6283 / 6352] Poison Damage to enemies within. A ranged ally can activate the Spawn Broodling synergy on an affected enemy, dealing 6149 Poison Damage to them and summoning a spider to attack for 10 seconds. The spider bites enemies for 1844 Physical Damage.
     Shadow Silk The synergy summons a more powerful spider, which deals additional damage over time.
Hurl webs to ensnare your foes, reducing the Movement Speed of enemies in the area by 50% and dealing [4765 / 4816 / 4869 / 4921] Physical Damage. After 10 seconds the webs explode, dealing [6351 / 6421 / 6491 / 6560] Poison Damage to enemies within. A ranged ally can activate the Black Widow synergy on an affected enemy, dealing 6149 Poison Damage to them and summoning a spider to attack for 10 seconds. The spider bites enemies for 1844 Physical Damage and can poison them for 12294 Poison Damage over 10 seconds.
   Tangling Webs The synergy also fears the enemy.

A ranged ally can activate the Arachnophobia synergy on an affected enemy, dealing 6149 Poison Damage to them, fearing them for [3 / 3.3 / 3.7 / 4] seconds, and summoning a spider to attack for 10 seconds. The spider bites enemies for 1844 Physical Damage.

Deadly Strike Medium Increase the damage your Physical, Bleed, Poison, and Disease damage over time and channeled abilities do by 20%.
Defiler Medium When you deal Critical Damage, you summon a Hunger that spews poison to all enemies in front of it, dealing 1287 Poison Damage and stunning any enemy hit for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Eternal Hunt Any When you use Roll Dodge, you leave behind a rune that detonates when enemies come close, dealing 1290 Poison damage and immobilizing them for 1.5 seconds. This effect scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Hand of Mephala Heavy When you take damage, you encase the ground beneath you in webs for 5 seconds, reducing the Movement Speed of enemies within a 4 meter radius by 33% and applying Minor Breach to them, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 2974. After 5 seconds the webs burst into venom, dealing 0 Poison Damage. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds and scales off the higher of your Physical or Spell Resistance.
Leeching Plate Heavy When you take damage, you summon a cloud of leeching poison under the assailant. The cloud deals 427 Poison damage every 1 second for 5 seconds and heals you for 100% of the damage caused. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds and scales off your Max Health.
Night Terror Medium When you take melee damage, you deal 371 Poison Damage to the attacker. This effect can occur once every 1 second and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Plague Slinger Medium When you take damage, summon a Skeever corpse which will launch five poison balls over 5 seconds that each deal 959 Poison Damage to the nearest enemy within 10 meters. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Poisonous Serpent Medium When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy Attack against an enemy who has a Poison Damage ability on them, you deal an additional 742 Poison Damage. This effect can occur once every 2 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Scavenging Demise Medium When you deal Critical Poison Damage to an enemy, summon the Scavenging Maw which attacks your enemy after 2 seconds. The Scavenging Maw deals 3363 Poison Damage and inflicts Minor Vulnerability for 15 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 5%. This effect can occur every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Sheer Venom Medium When you deal damage with an Execute ability you infect the enemy, dealing 1236 Poison damage over 6 seconds and dealing up to 100% more damage to enemies under 100% Health. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds per target and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Spawn of Mephala Any When you deal damage with a fully-charged Heavy Attack, you create a web for 10 seconds that deals 246 Poison damage every 1 second to all enemies within 4 meters and reduces their Movement Speed by 50%. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Swamp Raider Medium Adds 13-600 Weapon Damage to your Poison and Disease Damage abilities.
Syvarra's Scales Any When you deal damage, you cause a burst of lamia poison that deals 194 Poison damage in a 5 meter radius and an additional 1944 Poison damage over 6 seconds to all enemies hit. This effect can occur once every 7 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
The Morag Tong Medium When you deal direct damage, you cause the enemy to take 10% more damage from Poison and Disease attacks for 5 seconds.
Venomous Smite Medium Dealing Critical Damage inflicts Hunter's Venom on your enemy for 10 seconds, dealing 773 Poison Damage to your target and enemies within 6 meters of them every 2 seconds. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Vicecanon of Venom Any When you deal direct Critical Damage to an enemy while behind them, you inject a leeching poison that deals 1690 Poison Damage over 10 seconds to them and heals you for 100% of the damage done. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds per enemy and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Viper's Sting Medium When you deal damage with a Martial melee attack, you deal an additional 1205 Poison Damage over 4 seconds. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Virulent Shot Weapons Scatter Shot applies a damage over time effect that deals 65% of your initial attack as Poison Damage every 2 seconds for 4 seconds. The duration increases if you are farther away from your target to a maximum of 12 seconds.
Widowmaker Medium When your alchemical poison fires, you drop a poisonous spore in front of you that bursts after 1 second, dealing 3714 Poison Damage over 10 seconds to all enemies within 5 meters. This effect scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Witch-Knight's Defiance Medium Increases your Weapon Damage by 8-369 against enemies inflicted with a Poison Damage effect.

DefenseEdit

There are several ways of protecting yourself against Poison Damage.

  • Argonian characters have access to the Argonian Resistance passive skill, which reduces all Poison Damage received.
  • Wood Elf characters have access to the Resist Affliction passive skill, which reduces all Poison Damage received.
  • A Glyph of Poison Resist, created with a Kuoko Essence rune and a negative Potency rune, can be applied to jewelry.
  • Hardy in the Staving Death subconstellation of Warfare reduces Poison Damage taken.
