Larenis Maricius is an Imperial Drillmaster and a highly conversational chap who resides in a Brina Cross house with his wife, Juliana Maricius. He is a former legionnaire and an occasional visitor to the town's Crossing Inn. Here, he overheard his neighbor Petri talking about her own time in the Legion - and disbelieved her entirely.
Despising the idea of stolen valor, Larenis will ask that you look into the truth of Petri's claims, despite his wife's wish that he would just leave Petri be. Certainly, he seems to be a dogged sort, for the captain of the town guard, Nerilius Ludos, has heard enough of Larenis' questions to fob you off immediately.
If ultimately informed of Petri's true past - that of a Legion deserter named Rayina - Larenis will exult in the thought of shedding "light on my neighbor's lies"
