Lore:Horse

< Lore: Bestiary: H

Horses are quadrupedal animals used for travel. They may occasionally be eaten, but this is considered in bad taste, and their hides can be tanned into leather.

There are many different varieties of horses found across Tamriel, but cannot adapt to Vvardenfell's harsh climate.[1] They are bred for many purposes, including combat, sport, and labor. Horses can be outfitted in armor.[2][3] As with many creatures, horses can be reanimated by necromancers.[4]

Two Septim emperors died from falling off a horse. The first being Cephorus I in 3E 140 at sixty-three years old.[5] The second one was Uriel VI in 3E 320, who despite the efforts of the finest Imperial healers, could not be saved.[6][7]

But its origins are unknown and is associated with a couple myths. They are also the primary steed of choice for the Gallants of Hammerfell, the knights of the province. Yokudan WarhorseEdit

The Yokudan Warhorse was a breed from Akos Kasaz, the largest island on Yokuda. These horses were brought across the Eltheric Ocean by Yaghoub,[16] who later founded Sentinel.[20] These horses live on through the Yokudan Charger of modern-day Alik'r and because of this, some people call the original warhorses, the Forebear.[16][18]
