Aryon

Aryon is a Dark Elf sorcerer living in Tel Vos. He is a Master in House Telvanni and appears to be the most fair and open-minded Councilor of the house. This is evident when looking at his tower which is something of an oddity even for a Telvanni: a Telvanni mushroom tower integrated into an Imperial castle. Somewhat isolated on a council of anti-Imperial isolationists and eccentrics, he is desperately looking for new allies, be it his old mentor, Divayth Fyr, or Baladas Demnevanni. Smokey Morth has been saying - entirely correctly - he is doing so with the ultimate aim of usurping the Archmagister. However, once you yourself become powerful enough in House Telvanni, he will instead support your bid to replace the incumbent Archmagister. He is also rumored to have enchanted a pair of gloves in his youth with powerful conjuration spells.

During the Telvanni Hortator part of the Main Quest, Aryon understands the whole situation and immediately gives his vote for you to become Hortator of House Telvanni. He also offers advice on how to deal with the other Councilors. This is an example of his differences with the rest of House Telvanni, who are mainly concerned with slavery, artifacts, and their magickal studies.

Aryon wears an extravagant robe with matching shoes. He carries three quality restore health and quality restore magicka potions, a scroll of the black storm, a scroll of manarape, and a daedric shortsword. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he can cast a spell from the school of Destruction known as Aryon's Rest, which, as the name suggests, is a spell that is unique to Aryon and which drains the target's fatigue while burdening them.

DialogueEdit

  • Greetings:
    • "I am Master Aryon of House Telvanni. What brings you here?"
    • "What brings you to Tel Vos, %PCName?"
    • "Yes, %PCName. I have heard you may want to be the Telvanni Hortator."
    • "So, have you gathered the votes of the other councilors?"

  • Advancement:
    • "Yes, you are more than qualified for %NextPCRank."
    • "You are qualified for %NextPCRank, but you must first build a stronghold."
  • Archmagister Gothren:
    • "He is the current head of House Telvanni. He has held this position for many years. If you need to speak with him, you may find him in Tel Aruhn. If you have never been there, Tel Aruhn is west of Sadrith Mora. I will mark it on your map."
    • "Archmagister Gothren never directly refuses requests; he just delays indefinitely, never giving an answer. I don't know of any solution, other than killing Gothren. I'll tell you plainly. I stand to gain if Archmagister Gothren dies. I say this so you won't think I'm trying to trick you. My advice is still good. Gothren won't name you Hortator, but he'll never come out and say so. And in House Telvanni it is customary to settle disputes in this manner."
  • Hlaalu Hortator: "There are two men you should speak with. Orvas Dren at the Dren Plantation and Crassius Curio in Vivec."
  • Llunela Hleran: "She is the hermitage at the Telvanni Council House in Sadrith Mora."
  • Master Neloth: "He lives in Tel Naga, the tower in Sadrith Mora. He has a short temper, but he will listen to reason if you are persuasive enough. Do not expect him to be polite."
  • Mistress Dratha: "Mistress Dratha is the oldest living Telvanni Councilor and is sustained by the necromantic arts. She dislikes men of all races, though I do not know why. You may find her in her tower in Tel Mora."
  • Mistress Therana: "She has not aged well and becomes more eccentric every year. Her tower is in Tel Branora, which on Azura's Coast far to the southeast."
  • Mouth: "Each Mouth represents his or her patron, who is one of the older and more respected members of the Council. The Mouths receive messengers from their patrons and cast their patron's votes in the Council."
  • Raynasa Rethan:
    • "Rethan Manor is on the Odai Plateau. Follow the Odai River south from Balmora and you will see it on your right. Go there and slay this young Hlaalu noble."
    • "So Raynasa Rethan is no more. You are a credit to your House, %PCName."
    • "She is already dead? This is excellent news, %PCName."
    • "A stronghold is no good without its master."
  • Redoran Hortator: "I know little of House Redoran, but I have had dealings with Athyn Sarethi in the past. Perhaps you should speak with him first. He lives under Skar in Ald'ruhn."
  • stronghold: "For matters regarding your tower, you should speak with Llunela Hleran at the Telvanni Council House in Sadrith Mora."
  • Telvanni bride: "Hmm. Well. No one can say you are too conventional. No. On careful reflection, I believe that a marriage of a Telvanni noble to an Ashlander ashkhan is impossible for all known definitions of possible. [Chuckle.] Sorry. Didn't mean to... [Chuckle.] Well.... You must admit, it does sound a rather silly idea, doesn't it?"
  • Telvanni Hortator:
    • "A Hortator is a special champion and war leader chosen to lead a Great House in war. Why do you ask?"
      • Ask how a Hortator is chosen. "All the Telvanni councilors would have to vote, and the vote would have to be unanimous."
      • Tell your story and ask to be confirmed as Hortator.
        • "Yes, I understand. You are willing to take the responsibility, and I am willing to vote for you as Hortator. I think the other Telvanni councilors will also cooperate, though some might need a little persuading. Master Neloth is ill-tempered, Mistress Dratha doesn't like men, and Mistress Therana is losing her mind. Archmagister Gothren is another problem. He will not refuse you directly, but will delay indefinitely. I recommend that you to kill Archmagister Gothren."
        • "Yes, I understand. You are willing to take the responsibility, and I am willing to vote for you as Hortator. I think the other Telvanni councilors will also cooperate, though some might need a little persuading. Master Neloth is ill-tempered and Mistress Therana is losing her mind. You are not a male, so Mistress Dratha will like you. Archmagister Gothren is another problem. He will not refuse you directly, but will delay indefinitely. I recommend that you to kill Archmagister Gothren."
    • "I have given you my own vote for Hortator of House Telvanni. But you must get the votes of all the surviving councilors."
  • Mistress Therena: "She has not aged well and becomes more eccentric every year. Her tower is in Tel Branora, which on [sic] Azura's Coast far to the southeast."

Quest-Related EventsEdit

Daedra SkinEdit

After you have accepted this quest from Galos Mathendis, you can travel to Tel Vos and ask Aryon about the ingredient which he is after. If you do not have any Daedra skins in your inventory, he will politely ask you to fetch one for him:

  • Daedra skin
    • "Yes, I am looking for a Daedra skin. If you find one, please bring it to me. I will pay well for its delivery."

Mentioning the topic while you do have at least one Daedric skin in your inventory will prompt him to ask you give it to him in exchange for a sizeable amount of drakes:

  • Daedra skin
    • "Have you brought me a Daedra skin? I will pay you 300 drakes for it."
    • Yes, here it is.
      • [Disposition +5. Daedra Skin has been removed from your inventory. 300 Gold has been added to your inventory.] "Excellent. Yes, this Daedra Skin will serve my purpose. Take these 300 drakes. You know, Daedra skins if not properly prepared can cause paralysis, a useful effect in some circumstances. Perhaps you would like to paralyze your enemies."
      • Teach me how to paralyze.
        • "It is rather simple, actually. [Aryon teaches you the spell Paralyze.] This is a simple version of the spell. It is far more useful if you can cast it at a distance."
      • Nevermind.
        • "Well, your choice, %PCName."
    • No, not yet.
      • [Disposition -5.] "I would not pay more than 300 drakes. For that price, I could go to an alchemist."

After you have finished this task, you can talk to him again about Daedra skins, which will prompt him to tell you that he has enough of them for the time being:

  • Daedra Skin
    • "I do not need any more Daedra skins at the moment."

Baladas DemnevanniEdit

Once you have become a Lawman in House Telvanni, you will need to find a patron in order to continue to rise through the House's ranks. An inquiry in the Telvanni Council House in Sadrith Mora will make it evident that Aryon is your best bet, and as it turns out, the sorcerer is indeed willing to lend you his support, provided that you do him a favor first:

  • chores
    • "I believe we can arrange a situation to our mutual benefit. I will become your patron and ally in House Telvanni if you convince another potential ally, Baladas Demnevanni, to abandon his reclusive ways and join the Council."
    • join the Council
      • "Yes, speak with Baladas Demnevanni and convince him to join the Council. With his support we can wrest control from the old, cautious, and unimaginative like Gothren and Neloth. Once you have convinced him, speak with me again and I will sponsor you in House Telvanni."
    • Baladas
      • "Baladas Demnevanni in a reclusive member of House Telvanni. He lives in Arvs Drelen just northwest of Gnisis."
      • "Have you convinced Baladas Demnevanni to join the Council?"
    • patron
      • "Yes, I will be your patron, but first you must convince Baladas Demnevanni to join the Council."
    • Mouth
      • "Each Mouth represents his or her patron, who is one of the older and more respected members of the Council. The Mouths receive messengers from their patrons and cast their patron's votes in the Council."

True to his word, Aryon names you his Mouth when you confirm that Baladas has agreed to join the Council and will moreover offer you a gift as a token of your new station within House Telvanni:

  • "Have you convinced Baladas Demnevanni to join the Council?"
  • join the Council
    • [Disposition +24. Silver Staff of Peace has been added to your inventory.] "Baladas will be joining the council, and, as we agreed, I will be your patron. Please accept this Silver Staff of Peace, the traditional patron's gift to his protege. You are now my Mouth in House Telvanni with all the duties and privileges of that rank."

After the completion of the quest, Aryon has the following things to say about Baladas and your success in getting him to join the Council:

  • Baladas
    • "His support on the Council will be useful to us."
  • join the Council
    • "Baladas is now on the council. While I doubt he will participate as often as I would like, I expect we will have his vote on crucial issues."
  • patron
    • "I am your patron."
  • Mouth
    • "While other Councilors would insist that you stay in the Telvanni Council Hall day and night awaiting my decisions, I understand the insignificance of the daily business of the Council."

Mudan-Mul Egg MineEdit

The first task that you may complete for Aryon after you have become his Mouth consists of curing a Kwama queen that has contacted a blight disease in a nearby egg mine:

  • chores
    • "I have heard that the Blight has infested the Mudan-Mul Egg Mine."
    • Mulan-Mul Egg Mine
      • "This mine is due west of my tower here in Tel Vos, just a few minutes from here. There's also a shortcut if you go through the dungeon. The Kwama queen there has a blight disease. If you wish, I can teach you a spell of cure blight that you can cast on the queen."
      • Yes, teach me the spell.
        • "It is a rather complicated spell. [Aryon teaches you a targeted cure blight spell.] You should understand the principle now. You will find this spell is much more efficient than most. If you want, you can also buy scrolls of cure blight from Hetman Abelmawia in Gnisis."
      • Nevermind.
        • "I trust you can already cast this spell, then. If not, speak with Hetman Abelmawia in Gnisis. He sell scrolls of cure blight."

If you mention the mine again before you have completed the task that Aryon has given you, he will reiterate his request that you head there and cure the blighted queen:

  • "Is the blight cured in the Mudan-Mul egg mine?"
  • Mudan-Mul Egg Mine
    • "Yes, I taught you the spell. Now you just need to go find the queen and cure her of the blight."

In the event that you killed the queen which you were supposed to cure, Aryon will suggest that you revisit the mine in a bit and hope that a new queen will have taken the old one's place by then:

  • Mudan-Mul Egg Mine
    • "You have killed the queen? That is unfortunate. Wait a few days and return to the mind [sic] to see if a new queen has been born If not, the mine is lost forever and I will be somewhat disappointed."

If you report to Aryon after you have successfully cured the Kwama queen, the sorcerer will be pleased and will offer you a valuable book as a reward:

  • Mudan-Mul Egg Mine
    • [Disposition +5. Breathing Water has been added to your inventory.] "So, the queen is no longer blighted? Very good work, %PCName. As your patron, I suppose I should give you some lessons. This book, though somewhat simplistic, has a good lesson on the school of Alteration."

Once the quest has been completed, Aryon has little more to say about the subject:

  • Mudan-Mul Egg Mine
    • "You have already cured the kwama queen."

Wizard SpellsEdit

Before you continue to rise further up the ranks in House Telvanni, Aryon wants you to learn a triplet of spells:

  • chores
    • "I admire what you have accomplished in House Telvanni, but any student of mine must learn the rudimentary wizard spells."
    • wizard spells

You can talk with Aryon again after receiving this quest to obtain some advise on where you should look to learn the wizard spells:

  • "Have you learned the rudimentary wizard spells?"
  • wizard spells
    • "If you are having trouble finding these spells, should [sic] speak with the Telvanni mage trainer in Vivec, Fevyn Ralen. Or perhaps Felara Andrethi over at Tel Aruhn."

Speaking with Aryon after you have learned the rudimentary wizard spells will prompt him to express his satisfaction with your progress and to reward you with yet another valuable book:

  • wizard spells
    • [Disposition +5. The Art of War Magic has been added to your inventory.] "You have learned the rudimentary spells. I am proud to be your patron. For your next lesson, please take this book on War Magic by the legendary Zurin Arctus."

Alternatively, you may also finish the quest right after receiving it, namely by learning three suitable spells before accepting this task from Aryon. In that case, Aryon will be even more pleased, as is evident from the greater increase of his disposition than the one that you would otherwise receive:

  • wizard spells
    • [Disposition +15. The Art of War Magic has been added to your inventory.] "I see you have already learned the rudimentary spells. I am proud to be your patron. For your next lesson, please take this book on War Magic by the legendary Zurin Arctus."

The topic remains open for discussion after the completion of the quest, even though Aryon will have little more to add to that which he has already said about it:

  • wizard spells
    • "You have demonstrated your knowledge of the basic spells."

OdirniranEdit

For your next chore, Aryon will want you to come to the aid of a fellow member of House Telvanni:

  • chores
    • "One of our fellow Telvanni, Milyn Faram, is being assaulted by members of House Hlaalu at Odirniran."
    • Odirniran
      • "It is on Azura's Coast, west of the shrine to Azura and south of the old Dwemer ruins of Nchurdamz. I will mark these ruins on your map. Go there and speak with Milyn Faram who is under attack by forces of House Hlaalu. He is probably making his last stand at the top of the tower."

The reward that you will receive for dealing with the Hlaalu forces at Odirniran depends on whether you heard Milyn Faram out about his research (which is only possible in the first place if he survives and if you did not kill his prisoner, Vedelea Othril). If you did, Aryon will reward you with a book and a staff:

  • "Do you have news from Odirniran?"
  • Odirniran
    • [Disposition +5. Incident in Necrom has been added to your inventory. Silver Staff of Hunger has been added to your inventory.] "Yes, Milyn Faram sent me a messenger who spoke highly of you. Perhaps the Hlaalu will not be so hasty to oppose us next time. Why not take this book? It shows one of the many uses of illusions. I have also been researching how to make a Staff of Hunger. It is not quite perfected, but perhaps you could find some use for it."

Else, the only reward that you will receive for this quest will be an immaterial one (namely a disposition and reputation increase, which you will receive regardless of how you handled the quest exactly):

  • Odirniran
    • [Disposition +5.] "Yes, the leader of the Hlaalu in Odirniran has been retired... Perhaps they will not be so hasty to oppose us next time."
    • [Disposition +5.] "Yes, the leader of the Hlaalu in Odirniran has been retired... It is unfortunate that Milyn Faram is also dead. His research was unusual, but promising."

Regardless of the fate of Faram and his captive, Aryon will give you the same response after you have completed the quest:

  • Odirniran
    • "You dealt with the problems in Odirniran."

Mages Guild MonopolyEdit

After your success in dealing with the situation in Odirniran, Aryon entrusts you with a more diplomatic task:

  • chores
    • "Thanks to recent agreements with House Hlaalu, we have a chance of passing a resolution which would overturn the Mages Guild monopoly."
    • Mages Guild monopoly
      • "According to one interpretation of the Armistice, only the Mages Guild can officially offer spells and training to non-members. Speak with the House Redoran Councilors in Ald'ruhn. If you can convince at least three Councilors, we will have enough support in the Grand Council. I would start with Athyn Sarethi, as he seems to be the most open-minded."

If you carried out the task as Aryon requested, he will be pleased to hear the news of your success and will reward you with a powerful, enchanted glove:

  • "Do we have enough support to overturn the Mages Guild monopoly?
  • Mages Guild monopoly
    • [Disposition +10. Aryon's Dominator has been added to your inventory.] "You have convinced at least three Councilors. This deserves a reward. Perhaps you could use this glove. I enchanted it myself many years ago."

On the other hand, if you killed too many Redoran Councilors for it to be possible to gain the three votes that he requires, you will forgo all the rewards that he would otherwise have offered to you (although, like a true Telvanni, Aryon is otherwise completely unphazed by your murderous tendencies):

  • Mages Guild monopoly
    • "Hm. It seems you have killed too many Redoran Councilors. I do not believe we can get enough votes to overturn the Mages Guild Monopoly. Well, no matter, there will be more councilors to persuade another day."

If you mention the topic again after you have completed the quest, he will say:

  • "You already convinced enough Councilors of House Redoran on this issue. Soon we will take it before the Grand Council."

ShishiEdit

With the matter of the Mages Guild monopoly out of the way, it is time for you to rescue another damsel, er, Telvanni sorcerer in distress:

  • chores
    • "There is another Telvanni in trouble. I do not normally interfere with these matters, but I have taken an interest in this one. I need someone to stop the Redoran attack on Faves Andes [sic] in Shishi."
    • Shishi
      • "Several Redoran have infiltrated Shishi and the Telvanni Faves Andes [sic] has gone into hiding. Shishi is a Velothi tower in the middle of the Foyada Bani-Dad northwest of Maar Gan. Leave Maar Gan, go east past the silt strider, then follow the Foyada north and west. If you cannot find Faves Andes [sic], look for a skull on a desk, which opens a door to a secret storage space."

From this point onwards, Aryon's dialogue (along with the rewards that he may or may not give you) depends on how you handle the situation in Shishi. If you kill the leader of the Redorans and make sure that Faves Andas survives the ordeal, he will be happy with your efforts and will reward you accordingly:

  • "Have you won the fight for House Telvanni in Shishi?"
  • Shishi
    • [Disposition +5. Silver Staff of War has been added to your inventory.] "I am glad to hear that Faves Andes [sic] is safe. Perhaps this will keep House Redoran from making any other unwise decisions. Vvardenfell has plenty of land for all three Great Houses. I have prepared for you a Silver Staff of War, another tradition [sic] gift of House Telvanni."

If, on the other hand, Faves Andas is no longer among the living by the time that the siege is over, Aryon won't give you anything for your trouble:

  • Shishi
    • [If Brerama Selas is still alive.] "So Faves Andes [sic] is dead? What about the Redorans in Shishi? Return to Shishi and make sure the leader of the Redorans is dead."
    • [If Brerama Selas is dead.] "Yes, the [sic] Faves Andas may no longer be living, but the Redorans will not have Shishi either. You have saved a potentially embarrassing situation, %PCName."

Mentioning the topic after you have completed the quest prompts Aryon to say the following.

  • Shishi
    • "You have already ended the Redoran siege of Shishi."

Recruit a MouthEdit

After you have completed all the other tasks that Aryon may give to you and after you have become a Spellwright in House Telvanni, Aryon will deem you ready to take on a protégé yourself:

  • chores
    • "If you wish to become a %NextPCRank in House Telvanni, you must have someone to represent you in the Telvanni Council Hall. Find a promising Telvanni to be your Mouth."
    • Mouth
      • "I have heard of a promising Telvanni in Balmora who might agree to be your Mouth, but I do not know more than this. Ask the other Telvanni if they know of someone who would agree to be your Mouth."

When you return to Aryon after recruiting Fast Eddie as your Mouth, he will promote you to the next rank in House Telvanni (and present you with another enchanted glove):

  • "Have you found someone who will be your Mouth?"
  • Mouth
    • [Aryon's Helper has been added to your inventory.] "You have found a Mouth to represent you on the Council. As your protege, Fast Eddie will do chores for you. I am pleased to see my own protege rise so quickly to the rank of %NextPCRank in House Telvanni. Please accept this glove. It was one of my first successful enchantments."

Talking with Aryon about this topic after the quest has been completed will have him say the following.

  • Mouth
    • "You have a Mouth to be your voice in the Council."

Kill Raynasa RethanEdit

If you ask Aryon about chores after the first phase of the construction of your stronghold has been completed, he will ask you to "retire" the owner of another stronghold:

  • chores
    • "The other Great Houses have also built strongholds without the Duke's charter. While we Telvanni can defend our holdings, the other houses cannot. I want you to visit the Hlaalu Stronghold of Rethan Manor and retire the Hlaalu noble Raynasa Rethan."
    • Raynasa Rethan
      • "Rethan Manor is on the Odai Plateau. Follow the Odai River south from Balmora and you will see it on your right. Go there and slay this young Hlaalu noble."

Since Rethan Manor appears as soon as you initiate the construction of your own stronghold, it is possible that you have already killed Raynasa Rethan. Regardless of whether that is the case, Aryon will be happy to hear that the Hlaalu noble has been disposed of:

  • "Is Raynasa Rethan dead?"
    • [Disposition +10.] "So Raynasa Rethan is no more. You are a credit to your House, %PCName."
    • [Disposition +10.] "She is already dead? This is excellent news, %PCName."

Mentioning the late Rethan's name to Aryon after the quest has been completed prompts him to say:

  • "A stronghold is no good without its master."

Kill Banden IndarysEdit

As Aryon is far too considerate to let the Redorans feel left out, he will next ask you to pay a visit to a Redoran stronghold:

  • chores
    • "The Redoran Stronghold of Indarys Manor also deserves a visit from House Telvanni. Retire the young Redoran noble Banden Indarys."
    • Banden Indarys
      • "Indarys Manor is built in the Bal Isra, named after the rows of stones there. You can find it on the road from Ald'ruhn to Maar Gan. Go there and slay the Redoran Banden Indarys."

As with Raynasa Rethan, it is possible that you killed your mark before Aryon asked you to do so. Either way, Aryon will be happy to hear that Vvardenfell is one Redoran noble poorer:

  • "Is Banden Indarys no longer a threat?"
  • Banden Indarys
    • [Disposition +10.] "So Banden Indarys is dead. The Redorans will not be so hasty to expand their territory now. You have done well, %PCName."
    • [Disposition +10.] "Banden Indarys is already dead? The Redorans will not be so hasty to expand their territory now. You have done well, %PCName."

The topic remains open for discussion after the completion of the quest, even though Aryon has little more to say about it:

  • Banden Indarys
    • "Indarys Manor has no leader. The Redorans have been defeated."

Archmagister GothrenEdit

Once the second phase of the construction of your own stronghold has been completed and Banden Indarys has been dealt with, asking Aryon about either chores or advancement will prompt him to offer to declare you a Magister in House Telvanni:

  • chores
    • "I am prepared to declare you a Magister of House Telvanni."
  • Advancement
    • "If you wish, I can declare you a Magister in House Telvanni. But you should be aware of what a Magister is and does."
  • Magister
    • "I can grant you the rank of Master now. That will give you an equal place on the Telvanni Council. But if you aspire to a higher claim, I can also grant you the title of Magister. By accepting the title of Magister, you are announcing that you deserve the title of Archmagister more than Gothren who currently holds that rank. Which will it be?"
    • Grant me the title of Master. I have no plans of fighting Gothren.
      • "Very well. I must admit I am surprised. I thought you would surely claim the title for yourself. You understand that if you choose the title of Master now, you can NEVER advance further in House Telvanni? You can never again make a claim for Archmagister?"
      • I understand. I shall remain a Master, and never seek advancement in House Telvanni again.
        • "Very well, then. You are now raised to the rank of Master, and so you shall remain forever."
      • Let me think about this.
        • "Take your time."
    • I will topple Gothren from his tower. Proclaim me Magister.
      • "Good. I have long waited to see who the next Archmagister would be. I can think of no better qualified candidates. You have my support and that of the surviving councilors. Now you must dispose of Archmagister Gothren. You will find him in his tower in Tel Aruhn."
      • Advancement
        • "You are now a Magister in House Telvanni. You must defeat Archmagister Gothren."
      • Magister
        • "Once you have disposed of Archmagister Gothren, speak with me again."
    • I need to think about this.
      • "Take your time."

There are two special cases in which Aryon will immediately name you Archmagister. The first case is if you already killed Archmagister Gothren before Aryon offered to name you Magister:

  • Magister
    • "Since Gothren's untimely death, none of the Councilors have tried to take his title for themselves. I doubt anyone would challenge your claim to be the new Archmagister of House Telvanni. Congratulations, Archmagister."

The second case is if you were named Telvanni Hortator before Aryon gave you the option to become a Magister:

  • Magister
    • "You have been named Hortator of House Telvanni, so you already have the support of the surviving Councilors. No one is more deserving to be the new Archmagister than you. Congratulations, Archmagister."

In contrast to what he initially says to you, Aryon is willing to declare you a Magister even after you have become a Master:

  • Advancement
    • "You have chosen the title Master, forgoing the chance to advance further in House Telvanni. But... have you changed your mind?"
  • Magister
    • "You have foresworn the title of Magister... But perhaps you have changed your mind. Will you fight Archmagister Gothren and claim the title as your own?"
    • I have decided to fight Gothren.
      • "You are now the Magister of House Telvanni. Defeat Gothren and you shall be the Archmagister."
    • No, not yet.
      • "Take your time."

Return to Aryon after you have killed Gothren to receive your final advancement in House Telvanni:

  • "Is Gothren dead? Have you fulfilled your duty as Magister of House Telvanni?"
  • Magister
    • "You have the support of the other Councilors, and Gothren is dead. Congratulations, Archmagister %PCName."

Asking Aryon about either the topic of Advancement or that of Magister after you have become an Archmagister prompts him to remind you of your new rank:
